Stockton was an AMAZING player, he knew where EVERY team mate was AT ALL TIMES, that is EXACTLY why he the All Time NBA Assist Leader. I miss watching these two, but mostly Stockton.
These guys truly are legends. They would've been forces to be reckoned with alone, but putting them together... led to one of the most potent and outright dominant one-two combination the league has ever seen and likely will ever see.
The best duo! A perfect balance and understanding between these 2 guys. I always remember a commentary yell when watching NBA... "Stockton - Maloneeee, Stockton - Maloneee"
The thing for these two most is staying power; these two played over 1,400 games together as teammates. 1,400 NBA games in itself is an accomplishment for just ONE player (other than those two, only 3 others have played that many games); together is just amazing, even if they never won the NBA title thanks to MJ playing out of this world. It was not for lack of trying.
90's basketball was the greatest era in basketball of all time. Too bad I was too young to really appreciate it at the time. Now all I have are highlights instead of memories of it. All I remember as a kid was Olajuwon destroying my Knicks, Reggie Miller killing my Knicks, Jordan killing the Knicks, Jordan killing the NBA. At least at the mid and end of the 90s the Knicks were able to stay competitive against the Heat and Pacers.
Great Vid!These 2 were the best combo ever to hit the court in the history of the game in my opinion.Too bad they got soooo close sooo many times, but werent able to clinch it.
Stockton was some serious shit. Besides he was great player, his respect to his team was awesome. Eventhough he was able to get a lot more money from some other teams, he stayed in Utah, got to respect that. You dont see that kind of respect to the team and fans, too often.
@CubsFanJohn Agree. 91 to 96 was the best time for basketball. There were a few years in the 80s that were great....84 Finals were the best of all time and the 86 season was very good but 91 to 96 was the best time for it as a whole. The NBA really took a drop after the Bulls won the whole thing in 96.
Karl Malone 2nd all-time leading scorer and 6th all-time in rebounding. John Stockton all-time assist leader and all-time leader in steals! The only reason they didn't win a championship was because the bulls had Jordan...period
@TWheels10 And add in the durability. Of a combined 2966 possible man-games maximum for BOTH players, from 1984-2003 (1985-2003 for Malone), the two of them missed a combined 29 man-games - total. That's durability. As others have said, no one had a chance against MJ and Pippen to win a title, but it wasn't for lack of perseverence. Also, the other numbers: 1504 and 1412 - games played by Stockton and Malone respectively (most all time for any player with 1 team). That's loyalty!
It's too bad that they played in the same era as MJ. But few players play 1,400 games in the NBA...let alone together, yet Malone (who arrived the next year) and Stockton did just that (1,412 games together).
If Stoudemire stayed in Phoenix, he and Nash would've been the modern Stockton-Malone duo, awesome white passing point guard and a dominant black power forward(not meant to be a racist comment), Phoenix could've been the Mavericks' competition if the lineup hadn't changed drastically.
There's a rugby folks that says "In this sports someone, on the pitch, plays the piano and someone else moves the piano". I think it fills also with what Stockton and Malone did in basketball, isn't it?
I'll never forget watching these two guys play when I was a kid. They deserved a championship as much as anybody.
w punkt !
I remember asking my mom to let me stay up to watch these guys play back in the day. Not a minute wasted!
I don't care what anyone says. Stockton and Malone were the BEST duo of our time.
John Stockton is a legend and the best point guard to ever play the game.
Greatest duo ever
Stockton was an AMAZING player, he knew where EVERY team mate was AT ALL TIMES, that is EXACTLY why he the All Time NBA Assist Leader.
I miss watching these two, but mostly Stockton.
Stockton deserved to get a ring, hes the greatest PG of the 90s.
Brian Russell was massive underappreciated too
These guys truly are legends. They would've been forces to be reckoned with alone, but putting them together... led to one of the most potent and outright dominant one-two combination the league has ever seen and likely will ever see.
The best duo! A perfect balance and understanding between these 2 guys. I always remember a commentary yell when watching NBA... "Stockton - Maloneeee, Stockton - Maloneee"
ahhh that music , and all those players ... NBA those days were the greatest
It's a damn shame that these two couldn't get a ring....they diserved so bad....Best Duo ever
Johnny Stockton, all-time assist leader and greatest point guard ever!
the best duo in NBA story without a doubt!!
moi 2 ulubieńcy! Nikt tak nie zasluzyl na pierscionek jak oni dwaj! Kozaki !!!
much respect to these two guys. they didnt invent the pick and roll but they sure as hell perfected it
In my opinion the best duo in NBA history.
in my opinion, the best duo ever in the NBA history
Ahh, the good old days of Stockton to Malone. Nice tribute to one of the greatest pairs in basketball history. ^.^
i missed john.. i dont watch nba that often anymore.. i really loved the 90s playoffs with the bulls and the jazz!!!! T T..
I miss them both. They are truly legends
I wish we still had these guys.
Brilliant.
Unfortunatelly the NBA does not has them as champions. Poor NBA...
Thank you John and Karl.
That pick and roll was absolutely unstoppable.
Great Vid!These 2 were the best combo ever to hit the court in the history of the game in my opinion.Too bad they got soooo close sooo many times, but werent able to clinch it.
Nash and Stoudemire flashes back some of these Stockton and Malone days.
Still one if best videos on youtube ❤
Stockton was some serious shit.
Besides he was great player, his respect to his team was awesome. Eventhough he was able to get a lot more money from some other teams, he stayed in Utah, got to respect that. You dont see that kind of respect to the team and fans, too often.
There will never be another pair like Stockton & Malone.
Fantastic
Best players ever.
Stockton to Malone
the best two players combianation
point guard and power foward
we miss them
=(
teamwork is very beautiful. thanks for making this!
They were so fun to watch together.
I wish they had won a title. They were absolutely deserving.
From another Bulls fan: I miss both of them too.
Man I fuckin bust out laughin when it showed him slamming Hulk Hogan hahahaha
John Stockton was probably the most unappreciated NBA player ever!
This is the best Utah Jazz video on youtube.
Stockton was my fav of all time
Omg we miss that days!
Teamwork at its best. Just like Magic Johnson and James Worthy.
Hey at least they can be the best duo in NBA history.
@CubsFanJohn Agree. 91 to 96 was the best time for basketball. Stockton/Malone, the best one-two punch in NBA history.
i love watching stockton and steve nash on the court
watching this vid gives me goosebumps!
The touchdown pass!! That's my favorite part.
Nobody is ever going to beat John Stockton's assist record...
stockton :all time leader in steals as well.
as much as i use to hate these guys because like everybody i was a jordan fan, they deserved a ring no doubt
to perfection, ballet in basketball
These two would have no problem winning the finals today. The best PG/PF duo right now is Chris Paul and Blake Griffin? Forget that.
This was the old days of the NBA when it was fun to watch without all the hip-hop stuff just real basketball.
That wrestling clip gets me every time.
he was very appreciated, maybe just overlooked or underrated. they did deserve a title though.. just like Robinson did.. Great video though.
Great video. Thanks.
"stockton to malone", most said phrase in nba history
i cried cause of the music
They were really great! Both of them are in the hall of fame and they deserve it of course.. What's the name of this beautiful music by the way?
Stockton to Malone: A hand and glove fit!
Hate it or love it...hey were the best Tandem ever...well one of
mj&Pip#1
As a Jazz fan, I'm.. shocked and appauled that ANYONE would say that.
T.T
Everyone realizes they played 19 years together right... Let me say that again 19 YEARS!
Exelente video!
Tanta química
pure art
This video.. the music..
This is art
Xavi & Iniesta of the NBA
Karl Malone 2nd all-time leading scorer and 6th all-time in rebounding. John Stockton all-time assist leader and all-time leader in steals! The only reason they didn't win a championship was because the bulls had Jordan...period
They had to go up against MJ, it's a hard task but they came up short. Ring or no ring they are perhaps the greatest duo in NBA history.
man i wish they had won a championship......
I remember a video where John Stockton strolls in a park with a camera guy and no one recognizes him. It kinda saddens me..
@TWheels10 And add in the durability. Of a combined 2966 possible man-games maximum for BOTH players, from 1984-2003 (1985-2003 for Malone), the two of them missed a combined 29 man-games - total. That's durability.

stockton + malone is a great duo, next to jordan + pippen haha
@daltz25 note: not only did they rename the street of the stadium after him but they built a bronze statue of him. (and later, mail man.)
GREATNESS EPITOMIZED!
@dacheemeer
It's called Chi Mai by Ennio Morricone
It's too bad that they played in the same era as MJ. But few players play 1,400 games in the NBA...let alone together, yet Malone (who arrived the next year) and Stockton did just that (1,412 games together).
I like Scottie, but your right he needs more props!
yeah your right! Tumalon Means jumps! lol
"I Jump" >>> "Tumalon ako"
great video mate.
if you look at it...Steve Nash kinda resembles John Stockton...But this duo here besides MJ and Pippen, were one of the baddest
Yeah, if the pacers had beaten the bulls in that game 7 in the conference finals in 98, this duo would have a rig
One of the greatest duo's of NBA history.
Whats the name of the music?
Stockton/Malone---most games played together (1,412).
If Stoudemire stayed in Phoenix, he and Nash would've been the modern Stockton-Malone duo, awesome white passing point guard and a dominant black power forward(not meant to be a racist comment), Phoenix could've been the Mavericks' competition if the lineup hadn't changed drastically.
and the free throw leader, I think
The music is ennio morricone, and its fucking awesome
There's a rugby folks that says "In this sports someone, on the pitch, plays the piano and someone else moves the piano".
I think it fills also with what Stockton and Malone did in basketball, isn't it?
lol the mailman just dunk'd on Larry Bird
Will there ever be another dominant player coming out of Gonzaga University? I was hoping Adam Morrison; hopefully he progressed next year.
They were the days.....
Well, today its about "Nash to Stoudemire"
I THINK THEY SHOULD RENAME "THE GIVE AND GO" AND CALL IT THE " THE STOCKALONE"
It's a shame that they never won a championship though!
stockton was a tough SOB.
MJ is the reason alot of stars in that era couldnt win a ring
Stockton woulda been an extreme QB.
another good reason is there 1 and 2 on all time turnover list.
best ever
