    I had a heart attack July 1, 2019 and did a 3 month cardio rehab program last summer. I lost 12 pounds and bought a Concept 2 as well as a TRUE Elliptical.
    I love my Concept 2 and use it everyday. I had emergency surgery 2 stents. It was hereditary. I am 57 (153 lbs) and started with 1000M in 10 minutes. I am up to 1600M in 10 minutes and I can do 220M in a 1 minute sprint. It is fun and challenging. My kids can do over 2000M in under 10 minutes. My youngest is a natural and went to private school but did not go on the rowing team. Too bad.

      I wish you good health and let this beautiful sport keep your heart beating strong and long! You are one of great examples, that after heart attack you are doing what is right! It is never too late for physical activity.

    Once more thank you for this video. As an experienced C2 rower, it served as a good reminder/refresher of how to setup and why to do it so, before using the rower and monitor. If you are a beginner rower, this video is on point and will help you get started on the right way on how to use the rower. Watch and repeat!🙂

    Great video, I was recently on holiday and so had to use the local gym. I cringed so hard seeing people using the erg wrong. I guess I’ve been spoilt by only erging at my rowing club

    How about a short video on C2 maintenance?
    I’ve been erging for years and vacuum the screen occasionally from outside, rarely take screens off for interior cleaning, and also find I have to clean rail and rollers of the accumulated detritus every few days...any other recs or suggestions, particularly referable to rails/rollers?
    .....and oil to chain occasionally of course. Like Tri-Flow.

    Helpful tips, I see a lot of people doing these things wrong at the gym, especially the drag factor and foot placement. Perhaps in a future show you could talk about the ERG ap, what it shows and how it can be linked to your on line log book.

    Just tonight I dropped the foot traps another notch (now one set of holes showing, strap at base of toes)...had my best 5000m time in awhile and my force curves are clearly smoother. My returns now never brush my knees. Coincidence? - time will tell. Thanks!

    Isn't the resistance from air on this machine? I don't understand how this can wear out over time.

  • @alexeyfv
    @alexeyfv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sometimes in CrossFit workout I have to rowing for calories. Of course I set drag factor to 10. Actually, I always set 10. I think it is also depends on your weight. My weight is 97 kg and I can't feel any resistance of rowing machine if I not set drag factor to 10.

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That means you need to PUSH harder each stroke... it's not the resistance itself!

  • @oxygenfiberegirls7384
    @oxygenfiberegirls7384 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Halo do you mean that a lower resistance is more suitable for a single time rowing test? For example, 30 miniutes. As i feel so hard to row in between4-5 it is too tiring for me to row in this way for 30 min and my peace is too slow. But if i change my resistance in a lower level. Will i row in a faster peace? Or i need to use more strength to row comparing than before as the resistamce is low, then each time you row is easier, then i need to use more strength? Or just a lower resistamce, everyone can row a faster peace?

    Need longer foot plates...I wish they were 2-3 inches longer. it would have been nice to throw up the c2 app and drag factor and drive speed ect. Great video Austin.

    • @anon_1858
      @anon_1858 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trainingtall I will have to check the brand name in my gym. It is however, certainly not a water-driven rowing machine. The U1, U2, U3... are also present on ellipticals and some other cardio machines.

    "Must be good to go"!! LOLOLOLOL Thanks for giving more insight on using the monitor! I tried your suggestion from your, "Best Rowing Fat-Burning Workout 2020" video and I loved it. Kinda like tabata which I do on the treadmill yet you continue to move during the second minute of the interval. I'm thinking about alternating treadmill tabata with the fat burning rowing.
