The struggle is real 🤯 This brings back so many “back breaking” memories. After my husband’s retirement, of 23 years military service, in 2008 we have just gotten to the point of our “up keeping” process on our property. We had nothing but undeveloped land at first and our home is new. I could not imagine yard work and renovating like y’all are doing 🤯😱🤯😱 It does get easier but it never stops 😘
Guys work so hard I couldn’t believe it can’t wait to see You moved in and see how it looks when you’re finished hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy until the next video
This dude is either really bored, or loves doing everything the hard way. A large portion of the driveway could've been done in an hour with a chainsaw and a pressure washer 😂
@@BuiltToScale laughing it off is so easy, just put a smiley here and there and its good right?? you can chainsaw all you want you won,t get the stump/roots out to cut it under the groundlevel. why does he need to rent/ buy a chainsaw for a couple of small trees? he cuts it into small pieces probably for his fireplace, and to move it off the lot in a wheelbarrow and its easier to do that while the tree/brush is still somewhat standing. a pressure washer will blow the dirt out between the cobblestones making it look stupid and even worse to clean because the dirt keeps coming out getting an uneven look a pressure washer is the last thing you wanna use if the cobblestones are not cemented.
Illia developing skills as he works through tasks. We're watching him analyze, and develop process of cutting, chopping and whacking the growth into pieces. You will now have access to inside those out buildings for your needs! Warmest regards from Texas, U.S.A.!

Even a small off cut of copper tube wors hammer it flat an knock it in last tree we got rid off we drilled a hole hammered in copper tube offcut and filled it with weed killer crystals worked really well
Amazing! Even at night the work still proceeds! I was saddened to see you cut down what looks like a white birch tree, but I guess you had your reasons for doing so, maybe it was in the way? Or, because it was leaning? Roots too close to foundation? Whatever, it's likely you will plant other nice trees away from the house in due time.
Goodness Ilia. I feel so sad for you having to cut those trees. I had same issue on my property and it has been on going for me to remove them over the last year. I am almost finished, but it was so awful. Nothing seemed to work very well. It took so long to do each tree I would say only one and I’ll do more next time. I know to have a professional do it would only take a short time. But it is very expensive of course, because it is so laborious. Only time you will be happy is when you finally finish.
Please, just get a chainsaw. A small one will work. Also, a logging chain you can tie to an axle to pull those stumps out. Also, you could use a chain with car jack and fulcrum to pry the stumps out of the ground.
Have you SEEN what is under those trees..? You can’t just yank them out… the other section they did was ALL COBBLESTONE..!! It was gorgeous, when they were done..!! Good thing they didn’t try that fix..!
@@miachambers830 If they don’t remove the roots, they will continue to grow. Cobblestones can be repaid. The car jack and fulcrum would be the easiest to control. Yes a good small chainsaw or replicator saw I use for frangipani....brush cutter ...you would have been done in 1/4 time illia... lol great job thou..You have much to do look after you're back now ...get better tool x
It looks like a long and painful process getting rid of those threes, I watched what you uploaded at the time but I had no idea what Illia had gone through. Well done mate, there were sections of this video where you were working in the dark with a floodlight when I really wanted you to stop or get some help. I'm only about 60 miles away but 30 of that is across the Channel! Nick
It was actually quite fun to work in the late evening: resting from the fulltime job, enjoying the silence around, full moon above heads. Felt even romantic ☺️
If you use salt ( rock salt) on your cobblestones where you took trees out from it will keep all of the vegetation from growing back ( a natural way of weed killer and tree stump killer)
Thank you, Janice! I like this building a lot, but it has cracks in the walls behind and will fall apart in the near future. We plan to save just right part of it as part of the history and the foundation to reuse as very small terrace for evening cup of tea :-)
Thank you for this "special video". I could see that Ijlja wasn't used to remove a tree. Therefore I hope you didn't suspected to burn the wood, it is possible but the smell... awfull
It's understandable why the trees need to be removed... There's much renovation that will take place over time and these would be in the way. The soil conditions are not ideal and the way these saplings have grown into trees, they're too close to the structures and will, can, and have done damage especially with the roots. They were left to grow wild and therefore with improper trimming, they are unsightly. They are not a beneficial tree like a fruit tree or a tall tree that can provide lots of shade without being in the way of the height of an average person.
I think he loves the process. I enjoy watching the way you approach your tasks.
I hope your farmhouse is safe from all the flooding. And you too.
We are safe and fine, but a bit wet :-) we show what happened to us in the next video on the main channel.
I hope you guys are safe from the floods, and your property too. Thinking about you, sending good wishes for safety

I liked the video you are a hard working man. I wish you had better tools to work with.
It will be good firewood in a year or two. 👩🌾👍
An average 3bedroom home would go through at least 4 cords of wood or more for heating per year. That's no where near 1 cord.
We would have heaters in the rooms downstairs but just for fun. We won’t heat with wood.
It would be nice to reuse this wood as firewood.
He is using a pair of Loppers. A sharpened jaw on these things and they are very useful. Used a pair myself.

Your never going to make a lumberjack, but nice job of getting them out of there
If you can get a hand held chain saw you could get those trees down quickly.
Vous avez beaucoup de merites. ..bravo !!! I subcribe
Are you using a reciprocating saw?
Not sure why I keep being surprised that every time they dig a hole on this property they're pulling up bricks.
So much brick.
Yes you could use a come along we call them to pull out stumps a lot easier than you are doing

What is stored in the large metal tank ?
Looks like an old fuel tank...perhaps oil for heating the farm house?
Idd, old fuel tank. They stored diesel for tractor and other machines in it. We have disposed it already.
Aye you’re right, very monotonous..
Wow, that was tedious. The correct tools would have made it so much easier!
Yes invest in a good chain saw or rent one for a day would have saved you a lot of hard work
Have you decided what you will do with your buildings in the backyard?
Seriously, someone get this poor man a chainsaw.
Eine Kettensäge wäre vielleicht angebrachter.
Dann dauert es nicht so lange 😉🤣
Not sure what they're called in Belgium but you need a large axe, a mattock, and a spud bar.
Be careful swing that hatchet by your feet. That work goes easier when you have someone else to haul off the brush.
Chain saw?

Things look better every time I see it. Can the little red brick building behind the bushes be saved or is it too far gone? Thank you for this video.

Before they demolished the piggery 🤔

The birds will have nowhere Togo and it looks so bare with no trees. I don't understand.. Why all of them!

why waste time with a chainsaw, it would be done quickly
This job would have gone fast with a chainsaw. Husqvarna or Stihl brands are the best and will last you for many years.
Don't they rent chainsaws in Europe?
Why not use a chainsaw? All those trees would be down in a morning.
