As someone who has played this game extensively, it was really funny to slowly watch Ranboo make the right choices for the secret ending while Billzo thought he was getting bitches

It does depend on their mood. From what I've gathered, pink is normal, yellow is confused/panicked, purple is upset, orange is angry/annoyed/frustrated, and red is romantic/s*xual. Also, the heart isn't a necklace I'm pretty sure. It's just a mark on them, maybe showing them as a reaper?
Edit: Alright I searched the colours up, and this is what the colours apparently mean:
Pink- Happy/Unbothered/Flirty/Default
Red- Intense? Maybe h*rny?
Gold- Surprised/shocked/excited
Orange- Irritated, annoyed
