Before I saw arcane, Star Wars the clone wars season 7 had the best looking animation I’ve ever seen, but arcane is incredible. Easily took 1st place for me. The blend of 3D and 2D Animation is done perfectly. Honestly just a masterpiece.
Arcane was one of the most epic of all of 2021 ... In this series, not only does the League of Legends or LOL universe spread. But to know their characters and their origin. What impressed me the most is his story, the characters of Vi and Jinx (Powder) and of course his incredible 2D animation, his cinematography and his visual style with incredible shots. The animation reminds me of Klaus or into the spider-verse. And the very heartbreaking and epic but very open ending for S2 Undoubtedly the creators put some affection to this great series.

Studio Fortiche's artistry, moving forward, might be what will rise to the challenge of Hayao Miyazaki's legacy of stunningly emotional and visual storytelling prowess. This series broke my heart, made me think about the society around me, and awed me with it's beauty!
Arcane’s animation team was very successful at reusing shots. They let them produce the same high-detail material in a time-efficient manner (and on a relatively lower budget).
When I watched act 3 I wanted to feel every emotion In the emotional spectrum and that shows how funking beautiful, sad, tormenting, and joyful this master piece this is
This show does a really good job with color and contrast. Between the Greys and greens of Zaun and the Blues and Golds of Piltover. They do a really nice job at telling the story of this world.
This is such a beautiful video showing the true beauty of Arcane. I knew nothing about league of legends but I decided to watch this since lots of people were saying it's great and I instantly fell in love with it from the 1st ep. The animations go crazy too, can't wait for season 2 😤🔥
Seeing all these shots together really impresses upon me how the artists chose to use color very strongly in the environment to emphasize the specific emotion of the scene. You don’t really see that anymore except in old Disney movies. The frightening, dark scenes are completely saturated in red and orange. The sad scenes are completely blue and purple. The inspiring, happy, exciting moments are sunlight and gold. Fight scenes are often bathed in green. I’ve always loved when movies use full environmental saturation in one color to evoke the emotion of the scene like that. I can’t believe most movies don’t do it anymore.
Just to clarify, Arcane was not influenced by Into the Spider-verse. According to Riot, the work on Arcane began around the same time (if not before) Into the Spider-verse did. That said, Into the Spider-verse came out first, so it's not wrong to say the above.
Amazing how a cartoon show has better cinematography and direction than most live action series nowadays. I just watched the first ep of The Wheel of Time, and man that looks bad (Cowboy Bebop wasn't good either).

I loved Arcane but imo, Mushoku Tensei, 86, Sonny Boy, Heike Monogatari, Odd Taxi and Fumetsu no Anata e were better.
