Ideally mrdanga is made from dead cow skin!! SO THERE IS NO CRUETLY INVOLVED IF FOLLOWED! AND THE COW RECIEVES GREAT BENEDICTION THAT ITS BODY IS BEING USED IN THE SANKIRTANA OF SRI CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU
This instrument is a far superior instrument to the fiberglass one that came out many years ago. It's vegan AND it sounds great!

@@sanketprajapati8212 Hare Krishna, the coupon code was given to me by the devotee who makes the mridangas. I guess he set it up that way. Thank you for informing me that there was a minimum amount required. I wasn't aware of it. He only told me that people who purchase the drum would get a discount.

So if the mridang is tuned only once, I guess that heavy tuning mechanism doesn't have much value, but affects classic mridang body shape.
Some mix of indestructible mridang with pretuned madhura mridang like membranes would be ideal.

How much cost
I have a question about the mridanga with that black straps, did you change the leather to nylon straps..?
Hare Krishna, yes, it is an ahimsa mridanga so the leather is hard to come by. The devotee who made it used nylon for the straps and leather for the heads so he could make more mridangas with the leather he got. The nylon is also more durable.
The body is fiberglass.
And are the patches made of vegan leather? where can you get the patch? haribol

which mridanga do you personally recommend prabhu? the traditional clay mridangas or these synthetic madhura mridangas. I want to purchase one.
If you live near a "mridanga Walla" and you can guarantee that the drum you are getting is Ahimsa (from animals that died naturally) I would recommend getting a clay drum. But if you live in a western country or there is no mridanga walla in your town, I would recommend getting this.
The problem is that a lot of people will tell you the drums they are selling are Ahimsa but most of the time the leather comes from the slaughter house.
