I am a 12 years old Kenyan girl and I recently became an Orthodox (ex protestant) I listen to Orthodox chats every night when I do my nightly prayer I'm always alone doing these prayers but I know the Holy Spirit is here with me. I can't go to an Orthodox church because my parents wouldn't allow me but each day I pray and read my Bible I am also going to start fasting during weekends. Please pray for me as I become stronger in my faith and so that I get the courage to tell my family and friends about being Orthodox. I would also really appreciate advice on becoming Orthodox ☦️🙏❤️

One of my biggest dreams is to travel by car in North Carpathians, visit Uzhhorod, Suceava, Tchernivtsi/Cernauti, hike in the mountains and discover a small wooden church, with people speaking Rusyns, Romanian, or Ukrainian. I don't know why but since I was a child this region has fascinated me just like the Caucasus. When I look at pictures of the landscapes, churches and people of this region I always say to myself "God's creation is absolutely wonderful". God Bless you all my brothers and sisters ☦️

I was baptized and raised a Byzantine Catholic (Ruthenian Rite) and this brought back so many good memories from my childhood. I remember the music at 3:30 being sung during one of the Liturgies. Thanks OrthoBros!

@@Cobruh_Commander we’re pretty small. Especially in Canada where there are only 3 parishes. We’re in communion with OCA. Under the EP, but everyone still likes us, it seems.
@@Cobruh_Commander Mostly in the north eastern US. I was baptized in the only ACROD parish in Georgia, there's like 3 or 4 total in the South.
As Subdeacon K said, we're under the EP but I always felt we've remained pretty neutral(as far as I can tell) on some of the more controversial sticking points, which suits me fine.

brothers, please pray for me. i have ocd and an anxiety disorder, and right now i'm going through a crisis. ocd normally attacks what you care about the most, and in my case it started attacking my religion with blasphemous thoughts and obssesive ideas. this made me stray away from God because i didn't want to get hurt everytime i tried to get closer to Him. sometimes i feel dispaired and i wonder when will this pain end.

Pray to God “ I don’t want these thoughts” as soon as it appears. I struggled with terrible invasive thoughts. When I learned this “trick” from the incredible book “Our thoughts determine our lives” it helped. Also prayer rope doing the Jesus prayer not only spiritually edifies you but trains your mind in focus thoughts. It’s all baby steps. The church is and has good medicine. May God help you!

confession and taking advise from a monk helped me to overcome ocd very quickly. Dont pay attention to those thoughts as much as possible and especially dont be distressed when such thoughts are coming to your mind, they are not yours.
My wife has Carpathian-Russian ancestry. I do have some Russian ancestry as well but I don't know from where.
Technically we are called Rusyns and no longer identify as "Carpatho Russians". Back in the day many of us would either chose Ukrainian or Russian but now we have chosen the unique Rusyn identity.

You should go to Ukraine and you coudn't find it bcs carpato-russian orthodox isn't real. We have only Ukrainian orthodox church, and I say it like a Ukrainian who live in Zakarpattia(Carpathians)

my family is from galicia and the carpathians, they served in the polish military during world war 2 and eventually made it out to America, the soviet union deported hundreds of thousands from the region to areas across eurasia and there has been no punishment since

They're just gonna get assimilated into Ukrainians if they keep denying their Russian origins. There wasn't even a difference between a Russian and a Rusyn a century ago, in fact Russians used to be called Русин (Rusyn) in Serbian

Not Carpatho-russian-at first, at second-it is Carpato-ruthens(carpato-ukrainian) because in Austrian Empire austrians called us(Ukrainians) ruthens(it is who live in Rus, not russia) so, autor, please check it, PROUD TO BE UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX
These were all great chants, but why did you an English chant for this compilation? It still was a glorious chant, but doesn't fit the theme of Carpatho-Russian.
