Hit 2 beaches here in Oxnard/Ventura right at the long well defined cuts. A few dollars in change, a broken up battery cable and other assorted metal trash. Also the trash picked up as I went along. Only one toy sand shovel from amounted to a full bag of trash. Thinking of doing my own TH-cam ‘Finding beach trash with Ed’ 😂

Christine is exactly right with the simplex and the tones. It tells you more with the tones if something is good or not then any other detector I've ever used. The best thing to do is to take a couple minutes put some coins down and then put some junk like bottle tops pull tabs and then do some jewelry and listen to the different sounds they make because they are different even though you might be getting a strong signal. You almost don't even need to read the numbers with the simplex just listen to the tones.

The simplex with the smaller coil is a really good combination and hard to beat. She's going to enjoy it. Just turn it on ,ground balance ,Park mode and you're done!

LOL, I also have a black cat, her name is Jetta and she's seventeen years old. My American bull passed away two days ago, she was thirteen years old, God I miss her. Happy hunting my friends!
We have about 60 plus dollar coins now...saving them all. It is still hitting 70's during the day and dropping to mid 40's at night. 17 years is a long time to have a cat but that is awesome.... I had a lab for 13 years as well... so sad the day we put her down so I feel your pain. I still miss her.

I know the park you went to….the park to the south of that park had lots of old coins…a few barber dimes and some Indian pennies, along with the usual mercs/rosies and wheaties…but, it has been hunted hard by so cals top deep coin hunters over the years…not sure if they’re still allowing the homeless to stay in that park…there were quite a few of them years ago.
Yeah, that park had been hunted hard for a long time and I am sure there are lots of silvers still there. I have a little reservation about hunting there because to get to the silver, I feel I would need to bring the big shovel and I don't know how the city would feel about that. I guess I could seek permission but not holding my breath. There are a lot of homeless in the area and as a result much more trash in the grass. We did not make it back to SB but when we were there the had not built a berm but were really moving all the sand around. The totally took away the old berm????
@@DigginSoCal you don’t need a “big” shovel….just your Lesche hand digger….that’s the only digger I ever used to get to the silver strata layer in all the parks I hunted…..I wouldn’t waste your time asking to use a bigger shovel in any park around here….no parks and rec dept would ever allow the use of a larger sized shovel….I must admit, though, my buddies are still using the long handled diggers in our local parks for years now, but it’s not because they want to dig deeper…it’s because it’s easier on the body to dig a plug standing up…I just think it attracts too many looky-loos and makes you a lot more conspicuous digging plugs while standing up.

The yellow thing is used for perms. You put hair stands & a piece of thin paper in the yellow curler.

I have had good luck finding gold ring on or at sand volleyball courts. Have you also found them to be productive for rings?
I have had some luck at or near the volleyball nets but not as much as I would expect.
The UK spinner is a broken key chain is my best guess.

Funny you made this comment. I told her while we were there that we need to get her some sand/water shoes. She really should not be barefoot these days.
@@DigginSoCal I agree every time I see Digging Daytona and Alex Shields detecting barefoot and moving sand with their feet I think ouch going to to stuck with something.
