I bought a 2011 MINI Copper just as shown with 65K miles on it. The previous driver was good about maintenance and so I didn't have to put a heck of a lot of money in to it. Here it is 6 years after this review and it's still everything touted. No reliability issues so far and a real pleasure to drive. Mine is a 6 speed manual.
Hey man, love the review, I have a Mini as well. If you remove the plastic collar around the rear head rest supports, you can lower them all the way down and get much better rear visibility. I did it on my car and it's easy to raise it back up for rear passengers but it's out of the way when you don't need it up.
Great review, just bought my 1st Mini Cooper, fell in love with it as soon as I drove it, not the S model though, but it's plenty fast enough for me...
@pleeeeep That's a 2011 - they introduced a couple of new models recently -- the countryman, clubman and the coupe -- thanks for watching my video :) Tony
Media mart does great reviews! Been watching them for years. I bought a base 2012 mini with 16,000km back in 2016. I get compliments on my car constantly. 76,000 on it now and running great. I wanted the manual, but couldn't pass up the deal on this auto. The autostick works great though, or put it in sport mode and it winds out the gears. Take the highway onramps and you can push the car until it pins you against the door. Buy one a few years old with low mileage. You won't be disappointed.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Finally someone that says the space in the back is decent, because it is and I was getting so fed up at everyone for saying it's really bad, it's not.
@bobbawon I haven't heard anything about them having engine troubles after 60k -- I'll do some research and get back to you. I think it's a great car for a lease though. Thanks for watching my video :)
You sir gave a fantastic presentation.. The mini has been out for quite sometime.. After some things are paid off I am considering the mini.. Don't know why I've overlooked it for so long but I'm hip too it!! Outstanding job..:)
I've heard the same! I drove the regular hardtop, clubman and countryman, and I gotta say, those cars are all fantastic! Kind of leaning on the other 2 though. It's got me pretty excited!
I want that coke!!! Real sugar!!! Only way to buy one! I love Minis! I'll agree...clubman 4x4 turbo would be my pick...however, I drive a toy fj w/lift which is a must for my life style. Nice review Tony!!
You crack me up. ;))). I was not a big fan of the MINI when It resurrected a few years back, but that was because I was so naive with this exciting and fun motor car. I just love what they have done with all the new models of the MINI. PREMIUM GAS might be a deal breaker for me only cause only the BASE MINI gets 30 around town & 40 HWY. and I know I would want the Turbo or the CLUBMAN that gets 25/33 same as I get now with my 2.2 SATURN. ;)))
@upizdown I was ripping down the highway @ 87 -- just used the wrong section of B-Roll :) you have a good eye my friend! Thanks for watching the video -- Tony
Sounds great. I always thought it was too small, looks roomy if you're about 5 9". That's fantastic if you finally decided you know which car you wanted. I love the sunroof. Question though, can you see with the raindrops on your glasses? LOL ;-)
Hey Tony, have you heard about the Mini's engines failing about around 60K miles? I've had friends who worked on these and said they weren't reliable at all, and I've read on carsurvey (dot) org that they have issues. I'm not quite sure about the newer ones though. Also, will you continue to review cars after you make a purchase? Your reviews are great, and I would miss them if you stopped making them. GL with the car shopping!
@TheMediaMart So how is your Mini holding up so far reliabilitywise? I'm asking cos many ppl say there are "lots of broken hearts" when it comes to Mini's reliability.
Thanks so much for posting this video review! Been looking for a decent review for the regular model. I'm very interested in buying a cooper. Still not sure if I want an S or regular.
Hey Average Guy, I really like some of your reviews on some cars, specially on Mini cooper, I would appreciate if you could make a descent review on Mini Cooper S vs Beetle 2012-13 model.
Great review! But I have to say that in my opinion the air conditioning and the radio are not that good. On the other hand it's a go-kart, really funny to drive and fast! (My Mini is a R56 Cooper D (Diesel, i live in italy:( )

@AR8445 cars are not cheap up in Canada. Love the Mini though. Thanks for watching my video :)
@Zsmart one of them indeed! Love the Mini! Thanks for watching my video :) Tony
@Nite12Train I'd love to get my hands on a ragtop Mini -- working on it :) Thanks for the suggestion and for watching my video! Tony

Awesome! Thanks for your support 👍🏽
@@averageguytested keep up the great reviews!
yes :) thanks for watching my video!
I've heard that once or twice before - it's my style - but I keep tweaking it. Thanks for the feedback
I highly enjoy your reviews. Keep it up.

Tony,
Had a client in the studio today, and yes, another Mini owner. He loved your video!
He said you need to drive the "S' model.
Hal
regular - got if off the rental lot :( but I still loved driving it!
I've heard the same! I drove the regular hardtop, clubman and countryman, and I gotta say, those cars are all fantastic! Kind of leaning on the other 2 though. It's got me pretty excited!
they have! I love the way they look!
Thank you!
@bobbawon Don't worry - I'll keep doing my reviews - I love it! Thanks for the encouragement!
@WakeUpNM Thanks! I can't wait to drive the new versions.
@walterapa it's an outstanding car! thanks for watching my video -- tony
Nice, Tony! That's got your name all over it! Talk to Frank; he has one. Nancy, also here in the studio, has one too! Again, I'm the oddball!
@boycel62 thanks for watching my video -- I'm having fun! Tony
I want that coke!!! Real sugar!!! Only way to buy one! I love Minis! I'll agree...clubman 4x4 turbo would be my pick...however, I drive a toy fj w/lift which is a must for my life style. Nice review Tony!!
im about to get a cooper, and i loved the review! im sure that i am not making the wrong choice for sure! :)
sweet! let me know if you get it! LOVE the Mini!
You can lower the rear headrests or take them off completely
Yes - makes sense
Thanks for the kind words my friend. No I just owned it for about 48 hours lol :)

@gene978 Thanks Gene - the Mini is a great little car. I remember when Saturn was a startup -- showing my age :) Thanks for watching! - Tony
thanks! I love the mini!
Hey man. Nice review. Just picked myself up a 2010 Cooper S Manual. So pumped
Nice!! Enjoy the ride👍🏽
WeKnowYoureThere how has your experience been with your CooperS so far?
Watch for cooling system issues, thermostat and water pump appear to be common issues. The base Cooper appears to fare better.
depends on who is driving it. the mini is cute and is fun to drive to so you get you cake...
@chinabear3 My problem is that I like too many cars to choose just one :) I see just fine with thru the rain drops - thanks for watching :)
Does the sun roof open? Thanks!!
they surprisingly have lots of space for the driver. have you checked one out?
Mini Cooper is an A+ vehicle, it's only problem is the price! Up here in Canada, a fully loaded Cooper will run you $45,000.
@upizdown I was ripping down the highway @ 87 -- just used the wrong section of B-Roll :) you have a good eye my friend! Thanks for watching the video -- Tony
probably, but then what do you do with them?
you should review the convertible version too
I want one too!
good question. probably the Mustang - but by not much.
Sounds great. I always thought it was too small, looks roomy if you're about 5 9". That's fantastic if you finally decided you know which car you wanted. I love the sunroof. Question though, can you see with the raindrops on your glasses? LOL ;-)
Thats the 2011? i thought they changed the styling this year.
That is a cute car...which is the most important thing when looking for a car....right?
What about all the noise and stiff handling? Also this wasn't the "s" model was it?
Hey Tony, have you heard about the Mini's engines failing about around 60K miles? I've had friends who worked on these and said they weren't reliable at all, and I've read on carsurvey (dot) org that they have issues. I'm not quite sure about the newer ones though.

GL with the car shopping!
yes - I drove the automatic
Thanks!
Is it the best handling car you've ever driven?
Nice review.
was it the s model or the regular?
This is the base mini why does it require premium fuel?
Leonidas Saber I believe premium fuel is recommended for all of them. I'll check
Have you ever thought about doing reviews on older cars?
yes
Why is there not an arm rest?
I’m sure one can be ordered.
@@averageguytested probably, but I think it should already be there. It's a small thing but important to some.
@TheMediaMart
So how is your Mini holding up so far reliabilitywise?
I'm asking cos many ppl say there are "lots of broken hearts" when it comes to Mini's reliability.
***** I hear bad things too. I'd have to check with consumer reports - I've always trusted them.
Thanks so much for posting this video review! Been looking for a decent review for the regular model. I'm very interested in buying a cooper. Still not sure if I want an S or regular.
Did u end up getting the car?
Cool keep up the good work :) have a nice day
Is this one automatic?
Hey Average Guy, I really like some of your reviews on some cars, specially on Mini cooper, I would appreciate if you could make a descent review on Mini Cooper S vs Beetle 2012-13 model.
good suggestion! thanks!
thanks - great suggestion - will try to make it happen for you soon
thanks friend for sharing this video, i like...
These cars have looked the same since 2001. Besides a few minor changes
500 what now??!!! Thats crazy!!! Good gas wow all im saying but yeah looks fun tho really dose
👍🏽
Mini is the BEST !!!
Indeed.
Is it automatic
Great review! But I have to say that in my opinion the air conditioning and the radio are not that good. On the other hand it's a go-kart, really funny to drive and fast!
(My Mini is a R56 Cooper D (Diesel, i live in italy:( )

Just love mini
Me too
i really want one but im 6'6 330 :(
@fofofafa000 thanks for watching my video :)
What about reliability in terms of at least 5 years of ownership?
I will check. Consumer Reports is the best source for reliability info.
cool, cool
I hear that the S is awesome! But the base model ROCKS so I guess it depends on your wallet :)
@halsil you - an oddball? nooooo -- thanks H
The fiat 500 tried to copy the interior of the mini. I liked both but the mini kills the fiat.
@AR8445 Holy s%$t! u could buy an E-class with that!
cool review, dont like the car :)
Kia= shit
yes
thank you!
