Rose and Lissa have one of the best friendships in the YA paranormal genre. It’s based on a decent series for the genre. I don’t quite understand why this movie was such a flop, as I was in the minority who compared it Pride and Prejudice... without the over-the-top wealthy love interest. Both males held rather equal power, stoicism and god like status. Both protagonists are rash, outspoken and impulsive and yet it’s a virtue with them. Perhaps the lack of wealth and the paranormal element is what makes it less attractive to most young women. It’s a pity as I think it’s in the class of the German Ruby Red trilogy... Unique enough action packed storylines with somewhat original universes.
I love the movie 😍 I can even quote them in the scenes. 😂 but the books are better, they have much more scenes which I think are important for their love to eachother.
