Don't let the thumbnail fool you... I'm getting serious in this one! Trouble is born of Negligence, or Calamity springs from Carelessness... big words to illustrate that again "With great power comes great responsibility".

Back in the dark ages when I was 12 I had just the weekend prior tested for 4th kyu with Okazaki Sensei (who did all 4th kyu and up testing for the region). And was preparing to move a cross the country yet again. on my final class night with "my" Sensei who 5 minutes before the end of class lined me up in front of him, we bowed followed by the obiligitory hajime.... a very serious look formed on Senseis face (He knew I was leaving and I knew he knew I was leaving Final lesson begins now!) and in he charged in with a full glory kia growl ... two long steps in 3 punches and a front kick the next words I heard were YAMA! CONTROL! As I looked up the other sempai were all a flutter looking for a towel for Senseis now very bloody nose. oh the the terror that set in, what had I done, I to this day have no recollection of back stepping , stepping to the side and stepping in for a direct strike to his nose I only know what was being whispered by the onlookers also eagerly awaiting the repercussions. I had entered a full Zanshin state oblivious to all but my purpose and training in that moment. parents arrived almost at that point and off I went. I must say that haunted me for decades to follow and only in recent decades do I understand what it was that had occured.

      Haha! Yeah, definitely been there!
Not as extreme as your story, but I gave a bloody nose to someone who’s going to be a judge in my next dan grading 😅😅 fingers crossed for that one 😅
Thanks so much for that peek into your past! That is what gives our Karate lives colour 🙇‍♂️
