- Mughal Road is the road between Bufliaz, a town in the Poonch district, to the Shopian district, in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The 84-kilometre road[1] traces a historic route used in the Mughal period over the Pir Panjal Pass, at an altitude of 3,500 m (11,500 ft), higher than the Banihal pass at 2,832 m (9,291 ft).
The road connects Poonch and Rajouri to Srinagar in the Kashmir valley, and reduces the distance between Shopian and Poonch from 588 km to 126 km.[3] It also provides an alternative route int
o the Kashmir valley off the Jammu
-Srinagar highway.he road passes through Buffliaz, Behramgalla, Chandimarh, Poshana, Chattapani, Peer Ki Gali, Aliabad, Zaznar, Dubjan, Hirpora, and Shopian.

Did you find any hotel to stay in Mughal road. At what time you reached srinagar. What was total distance covered and time taken.. can you please share route details city to city.
On this route very limited option is available for stay,Rajouri is only major city where stay is easily available.. for me it's took around 10 hour's with full of break to reach Srinagar..total distance from Jammu to Sringar is around 350km.. route Jammu-Rajouri-Buflliaz-Peer ki gali-Shopian-Pulwama- Srinagar..route is totally safe,and very scenic..

There are two routes from Rajouri to Bufliaz, one is the direct route. The other goes to Bufliaz while being Bimber Gali. You have to go to Bufliaz. The Mughal Road starts from Bufliaz. The road was under construction a year ago, I don't have any update yet. Will come to know from the local people. Bimber Gali road is also good, just a few km more.
