I don't quite understand the system of VW's interior furnishing.
The Polo has soft touch materials on the dashboard, the T-Cross is purely hard pack, the Taigo gets soft materials again and the top of the line T-Roc is only available with hard plastics again.
Don't see the logic here ...

European version of Nivus is fancier. The only thing I don't understand is why 10inch infotainment screen is brazilian exclusive (in taigo its a smaller 9,2) and 1.0TSi in Brazil develop more power (its bifuel, 128ps when using it with ethanol and 116ps using with petrol).

VW will shortly full every gap in vehicle lineup. If so, please make new version of sharan with childseat friendly system like in Touran (fantastic, but lilttle too small). Also, if T7 gets 2.0 TSI, bring atlas to EU with this engine:)

  • @bonnaud_dowell

I’m curious why vw is bringing this to Europe now. I thought it’s supposed to be focused on an electric future . Abs there are plenty - like the t-cross etc - of other models already? What am I missing ? The relatively low price ?

    • @catastrophic009

Hi William...agree with you on this about the electric future. This perplexes me why they are not concentrating on electric cars instead of carrying on with petrol & diesel. This is a competitor for Ford Puma..
VW waited to see if a small coupe crossover and rather expensive compared with the small hatchbacks they are based will make sense to people.
And it did, so here it is VW ta grab a slice of the new segment.
A full picture can be made once it will be driven, but I can already see it's gonna be be the sensible/comfortable/boring type same like the rest of VW.
Also some people not fancy of the Puma frog look of the front can migrate now to VW, yet I bet the lower spec won't look as good.

Seems like Volkswagen's version of the Skoda Scala but on stilts? The cargo capacity is larger then that of the T-Cross and Kamiq but 20L less then the Scala. The Skoda twins still have the nicest interiors of all the MQB A0 cars (excluding the A1).

VW is really saving wherever they can. The interior of the ID 3 and 4 is mainly hard plastic and both models still have the old fashioned CHEAPER drum brakes. I can’t believe anyone would pay that amount of money for such a low quality. The Koreans are doing a much better job. German cars are losing the battle more and more as the manufacturers have denied the transformation to electric way too long. Instead they were busy with cutting deals amongst eachother (delay AdBlue, diesel gate) whereas the innovative car manufacturers were busy developing new techniques.

The car look very good to me. Only the problem are the engines, vw hasn’t got anything to offer here, if they have port injection naturally aspirated timing chain driven petrol engine with manual or more reliable transmission then would be a good choice. Electric variant also should be available to rival new mocca e

Rear resembles a 2006 Honda FRV. Proof: That rear 3 quarter window, and the panel surrounding it, the line wrapping from the taillights, and that "spoiler". It looks like an MPV, with a slanted window, by no means a sporty SUV-coupe in my opinion.
