Why are we not being taught all this through the church or in Christian schools? Is all this study and teaching up to us? I am a a grandparent and great-grandparent of 10 children under 12.. Only two have a biblical world view. I am 79 and feeling the responsibility . Even the Christian school are pushing lbgtq etc on the two I was able to disciple. My 11 yr old is now pulling away and arguing with me after hanging on every word I said. I am writing a book for him explaining the world and life based on biblical truths, he struggles with reading but I hope one day he will read it. I don't have much time with him any more.😢

Yes it is up to all of us
It is up to parents and grandparents, but I do think churches need to step up and support grandparents. parents and kids in contrasting culture with the gospel and the fruit of both. I get a sense that some churches don’t engage in these subjects because they are touchy. But we can’t be afraid. We have to find ways to step into this- for the sake of the gospel and the next generation.
@everydayjanuary3648 you are correct, the church has the responsibility to equip the saints for their ministry Ephesians 4:10-13. That includes the ministry of the parents towards their children in the home 👍
So agree Alisa, it's one thing knowing what we need to tell our kids but it's another thing to articulate it so that they understand. It's such a balancing act to use wisdom, knowledge, humility, kindness etc all at the same time when we are trying to get them to see truth.

I love the “truth/not truth” game!! My 3 year old will say goofy things like tractors can fit in houses! I get to engage with him by saying “well is it a toy tractor or a real tractor?” Maybe I’m over thinking it but he loves to be like that… but then I can say something like “the sky is green” and we KNOW that is NOT TRUE!! ❌ that is always not true! No matter what! We can say mommy likes pickles “NOT TRUE!” But you like pickles “TRUE!” Objective subjective truth! I love it! Thank you!!

I feel like it’s extremely important in this critical time in life that our children DO get that foundation in biblical faith. They will be dependent on this and need to draw from this strength. If it’s not being taught at the toddler age, they will easily get lost. It’s amazing what I know I learned very early on and that as a 53 year old, I can still draw strength from those truths.
I teach elementary Sunday School, and have been talking to our Pastor about this curriculum. I would love to teach this.
It's very important that we try to learn / probe / investigate what your kids are learning (any questions), from teachers/friends or from someone else. Anticipating future possible threats from intellectual predators.

Such a great conversation. I would suggest enrolling your children in the National Bible Bee. The summer study teaches children how to read the scriptures and to memorize verses.
Wonderful timing!! I literally just talked with my 11 year old that she will encounter people that challenge her faith and I want to equip her. I told her that if she has questions and doubts I am open for her and we can work through them together scripturally and resources!
That said, would you read through the Bible chronologically first with an 11 year old? I recently found Tara-Leigh Cobble which I was excited about, but is it best for a child?

I appreciate Elizabeth's hard work, but this curriculum seems rather expensive. :/ Maybe after a while she could lower the cost?
There's an important distinction to make. It is true that if Christ did not rise from the dead, our faith is in vain. But it is not true that if we cannot know from the Bible that Christ rose from the dead, our faith is in vain. I love the work of so many modern historian/apologists/lawyers/scholars demonstrating that historically we know that Christ did indeed rise from the dead, as there is no better explanation to fit the evidence. We can know the Bible is true about Christ having risen from the dead because we can see that the historical event really did occur, and the Scriptures line up with that. God acts and speaks first, and then what God does and says gets written about as a record of what he has said and done. It's not that God acts and speaks because Scripture tells us that He does.
I have two children ages 4 and 6. I so appreciate Elizabeth putting together a curriculum like this. My question is- I’m not very tech savvy and also we don’t have internet at our house. I’m wondering if this curriculum is all online or does it come in book format as well?

@Homebound, Do you have access to a local public library? If so, you could access the material and get printed copies through them. Better yet, you might ask if your church community has someone who is interested in helping you. I encourage you to pursue these materials for the children in your circle of influence! Begin with the story of the clever serpent who appeared out of nowhere to temp Eve to disobey the omnipresent Hebrew god Yahweh who is missing from the story at the critical moment when he is most needed.
Teach them to be skeptical of Biblical contradictions which fill the pages of the Old and New Testaments.
no time stamps. booo. I really wish you would put time stamps. It makes it much easier to navigate to the parts that I want to know.
So one of the counter-arguments that my 15-year-old to "our gender has been determined by biology" is the whole issue with true hermaphroditism. In her mind that proves that gender is not decided by biology. Even though this is very rare, it does poke a hole in gender being determined by biology. What do I say?
Just a few thoughts I have and how I explain this to kids I know:
1. The exception is not the rule. Humans, by definition, have two legs, but some people are born disabled and don't have 2 legs. Does this make them not human? No, it makes them a human who happens to have a disability, like hermaphrodites.
2. True hermaphroditism (where both the male & female organs present function... for eg, someone has ovaries AND testes AND they function) is unheard of. If your 15 year old can find a case of true hermaphroditism, she will make history! What do these disabilities actually look like in real life? Over 99% of the time, there is either no sexual function or only one "system" (either the male/female organs) functions. These people still have a sex and are treated as male/female by medical professionals. How do they decide which? If one set of organs works, they usually classify them as that sex. They may wait until the child hits puberty to finalize their decision on what sex they are, so they can observe their secondary sex characteristics. They can test their chromosomes and hormones to better understand the whole picture, which *almost always* points to one sex (eg, someone is estrogen-dominant, has female XX chromosomes, and has female secondary sex characteristics but has internal testes instead of ovaries).
3. Hermaphrodites suffer from a range of physical and psychological problems because of their disability. Many of them need surgeries to remove nonfunctional organs (because they impair the others). Many spend their lifetimes on hormone therapies or other medications to help alleviate their symptoms. This actually points to the truth that our biology is essential and decides our sex! Why? Because any biological deviation from one sex or the other is so rare and greatly impacts our quality of life and health when it does happen.
4. Many hermaphrodites are against gender ideology and have been for years. They are upset that trans-identifying people have co-opted their disability and basically used them as a human shield. If they even disagree with gender ideology, how could we say their lives are proof that it exists?
5. Ask her to define transgender, gender, and sex. Trans identified people are, by any sane definition, *transitioning* from one sex to the other (or one gender, whatever terminology your child uses). Most of them say this transition is spurred by gender dysphoria, where they claim to feel a discomfort with their biology and a need to change it. If their biology is irrelevant to their sex/gender, why must they change it? Why do they need a physical change and so-called "gender affirming care" when their physical sex is some illusion or just an idea? The idea of transgenderism itself falls apart without acknowledging biology determines sex and is important.

@@lisaforte1575 aw thank you but I am no expert haha! I succumbed to gender ideology and identified as "genderfluid" when I was a teen years ago (over 10 years now... back then it was very fringe and now it's hard for me to wrap my head around how this has become so mainstream) before I was saved. I thank God for showing me His Spirit and encouraging me to read and follow his word and freeing me from that. Getting away from the movement and explaining to people why I no longer believed in "gender" and instead identify only with my God-given sex took time and research. That's the only reason I know the rebuttals to these arguments-I have lived on both sides. I was once the teen convinced that transgenderism is an undeniable truth but with a little common sense and studying the word of God the actual truth has been revealed to me!!

The main belief I have come to question is that sacrifice is the way to end our guilt. Jesus redirected the idea with, " If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent."
The carnal mind is the enemy and we disable it with truth instead of thinking it's in the world. Seek the truth and the truth will set you free. We must change our minds, metanoia, to see life as Jesus did.
If you're denying the efficacy of Christ's Atonement for humanity's sins, then you're clearly not properly putting together the whole counsel and context of Scripture.

An apologist is just anyone who defends something using rational arguments. In this case, a Christian apologist is someone who offers arguments to rationally justify the truths of Christianity.

In Evolution, we are supposed to have a "common ancestor" with chimps.
That "common ancestor" is so close, that even gorillas, orang-utangs and gibbons are supposed to _not_ descend from it, but have common ancestors _with_ it. How in that case could that common ancestor _not_ be a monkey or if you prefer ape?

On parenting kids. You want to encourage them to be who they want to be, you dont want to put them into the box of who you want them to be. This is one of the biggest pitfalls of the cultural dominance of organize religion, such as popular evangelical christianity exerts on parents and their kids.. Teach kids how to think. Not what to think. Then they seek and knock without caveats and find demostrable truth.

Religion can certainly be not helpful. But the right religion, Jesus, will be crazy beneficial. Look at statistics. It's just true. Biblical things are better for people. All around. The facts back it up. Just do some research. :)

Yes, He did. We must realize our sin and know that we want to accept Jesus death in place of our debt that we owe. That kills our old nature, our sinful nature. We die to what we've known. But that's not all that He did. God also gives us the Holy Spirit to transform us, transform our hearts, to give us Godly desires. When I had the revelation of His resurrection, I was brought to life! I have never been the same! The change is truly amazing and I know it will never stop until I am taken from this body and am with Him and then am complete! It's incredible! God is absolutely incredible! Thank you God, praise Jesus!

Death and sin isn’t defeated if Jesus stays dead. He is the propitiation which means satisfaction to God for the sin which must be dealt with so we can be with Him.
