      One of the easiest TH-cam videos I’ve ever made! 😂
      I thought it would be a really cool thing to share.
      Even though they’re extremely annoying with their constant swooping and their insidious screeching, I kind of miss the S.O.B’s😂
      I can still hear them in the distance though.. and I’m sure they’ll be back next season.
      Much love Beth🩵💜🩵💜

    Fearlessly protecting their precious ~ same way We all could be at Once, taking back our entitlements for Good..

      Indeed! A few weeks ago the Mother was protecting her nest as my lawn guy mowed the grass. She was ready to take on the ride-on mower and the man sitting on top.. I think she would die to protect her eggs.
      Thank you JJ much love always. 🩵💜🩵💜

      Yeah it’s funny when you’re safe behind glass.. it was kind of like being at the zoo, watching animals in an enclosure.
      Now they’re across the road terrorising the neighbours. 😂

    The amazing Plovers standing in their power. Nature teaching us how to protect little ones. 😀 This was a cool share. All the best intended to you and your family.💙

      Hey Lisa, yes they are definitely protective over their little ones.
      Their constant noise is rather unpleasant but it’s such a pleasure watching their little chicks waddle around.

    wow up close & personal interspecies experience - how cool for the girls, esp! i doubt the cat appreciated it much ;) & yes, quite loud! (thx for the heads up/volume down on that one LOL) omg the lil babies = TOO CUTE!

      Yeah it was actually a really cool experience to be able to watch them so closely, and nope.. the cat is terrified of them. 🙀
      They’re across the road now so we can still see the chicks when we leave the house, and yes they’re absolutely the cutest little things.

      Oh hell yeah, ducks and geese can behave in much the same way but at least they don’t have spurs on their wings.
      I was bitten by a goose when I was kid, it chased me and bit me.. took a few years for me to get over that experience. 😂

      @@iyoutome Yeah they can use them if needed but don’t often make contact with humans. They got so close to my cat a week or so ago, I reckon they’d definitely make contact with a smaller animal.

    What beautiful parents. We have 2 sets of plovers near our house.
    One of the adults tried to defend their eggs from a fox and got ate, it's partner now sits and starves (they usually take turns to forage as the other incubates) as it tries to incubate the eggs.
    The other set of plovers had 4 chicks, all of them died, taken by ravens, the same fox that got the other parent and myna birds killed one.

    • @AliceInWonderland2756
      @AliceInWonderland2756  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rickyn4710 Yeah… the only evidence of these little chicks having graced this Earth is right here in this video.. they were all taken by a Fox a few days after they left my yard.. the parents were clearly in distress, constantly searching for them around the nest and making a lot of noise around the area.. really sad, if only they knew I wouldn’t harm their babies. 😪

      @@AliceInWonderland2756 oh I'm so sorry to hear. Life as a plover parent is brutal, I can see why they try to defend them so ferociously. Many plovers are never able to reproduce in their lives, it's year after year of losing children. I can't even imagine the feeling.
      Btw, they usually make a lot of noise if a fox is trying to get to their chicks, if you buy a spotlight and shine it the fox will run. But if it's not a fox it seems some other type of bird will kill their young.

    My favourite bird and are actually just like magpies with their friendly interactions even with chicks when they know and trust you. Anyone else and they become their demonic protective selves. They will actually shield and protect any injured bird or fallen pre fledgling in their territory and I've watched my pair actually foster and raise a fallen native dove. Unfortunately it wasn't cut out for ground living and only survived for just over a week. Natures intruder alarms at night too, will let you know when anything even looks like getting close to them.

    • @AliceInWonderland2756

      @@DingoProtection Absolutely!
      I did a lot of reading about them and you’re spot on with everything you’ve typed here.. My neighbours hate them and have tormented them, swinging brooms at them and chasing them away.. They clearly felt threatened by my movement in and out of my property, although I tried my best to make them feel safe here.. their most endearing attribute in my opinion is the willingness to help other species when injured.. they are very misunderstood and deserve far better treatment..
      They still hang out in my yard at night, we have a male cat who stalks the houses here at night, but because these Plovers sound the alarm I know when he’s in my yard.
      Unfortunately all of their 4 chicks were killed within about 12 days after having left my yard, we believe they were taken by a Fox.

    Pretty cool! The chirping wasn't really annoying to me. I could stand 10 minutes of that before 10 seconds of a random tv commercial. I wonder how long your cat stayed & waited for them to return. Thx for sharing Silvi

    • @AliceInWonderland2756
      @AliceInWonderland2756  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      “Chirping” 😂 more like SCREECHING! There actually a protected species but I love animals and have no problem sharing my yard with them a couple of months each year, even though they don’t want to share it with me! Anything is better than 10 seconds of TV commercials though.
      My cat wants nothing to do with them, I just put her outside and she was a little uncomfortable. She’s sitting in the sun now.

      That’s where they used to live before they came here, once they build houses there I don’t know where they’re going to go.
      They sure as hell aren’t staying here! 😂
