I can't lie this coming up. Just brought back all the anger I have towards Boosie. The man literally admitted to paying grown women to have sex with his children so they wouldn't turn out gay and barely anyone ever talks about it. When I watched Poor Things, people at the movie theater gasped at a specific scene related to this topic, and all I could think about was how hypocritical people are. I can't count how many times I've heard, as a woman, about older men paying sex workers to "turn boys into men", and the boys in question being literal kids. Our society is okay with this happening, but not okay with this being addressed directly.

As a grown woman, I don’t know how many times I’ve heard men I’ve dated or been in relationships with talk about losing their virginity at a young age to an older woman. And they brag about it. I gently have to let them know that no sweetheart - you were molested. Full stop. It’s genuinely heartbreaking and it corrupts a lot of boys who then become men with warped senses of sexual intimacy. I watched FD’s video yesterday and the way he slow walked us through the major issues with not only the behavior in question but the issues with the collectives response to the behavior was masterful. Protect children.
I reported him to the Feds. If anyone else is in the medical field, law enforcement, state or federal employees please consider your role in protecting vulnerable people in society as a mandated reporter, and report this predatory behavior. S*xual harassment is illegal and even more egregious when directed at a child. It doesn’t matter that this boy is in Malaysia.

I think he was targeted BECAUSE he was in Malaysia. People think nothing can be done because he isn’t in the US(not everyone is knowledgeable about the FEDS).
They gave him money and know he is vulnerable because of his background and the fact that he is clearly latches onto older men as mentors.

it feels inappropriate and almost dangerous to speculate to this extent, but 1. i do think it's important to keep in mind when viewing these individuals and analyzing their behavior, and 2. it's ak. war in chiraq ak. his career is built on inappropriate and dangerous speculation on the lives of random people. i don't feel so bad for invading his privacy considering the amount of young black people he likely got killed.

Justin, thank you so much for speaking out those words about how young boys engaging in romantic and sexual relationships with adult women is usually seen as a trophy or a sign of ultra masculinity in our society. It in fact, as you said, distorts so much of these boys' minds and experiences going forward well into their adult life.
Akademiks' and his entourage's behavior is disgusting. I'm so glad voices like yours and the rap reactor community in general are at the forefront of the critiques on this situation. Thank you so so much, I respect you greatly and am a huge fan. Thank you.

We talk about characters like Vlad, Post Malone, Tom McCorny, etc. But the enemy within is a dynamic that I think might be a worthwhile discussion. I read a book recently called A Spy in Canaan and it was about how a photographer for the Civil Rights Movement was able to infiltrate and feed information back to the government about what Dr. King and the movement was up to. I truly believe that characters like Act-a-gimmick is something like a chaos angent. Maybe not purposefully "sent" by someone, but his impact and behavior could definitely give someone the impression that "oh that's what culture means". Maybe Act-a-gimmick is encouraged to be the way he is. I don't know. But, to me, something has always been off with that dude.

As a man who had to learn how to be a man by myself because my father wasn’t around much, I feel FD’s take so much. Once my ex and I broke up (the hardest thing I’ve gone through to date), I had to teach myself what emotions are, I had to ugly cry many times, I had to learn that my emotions are valid regardless of who was right or wrong for the breakup, and I had to learn how to forgive myself. When I tell you that my mental health was the worst it’s been from 2020-2023 from this breakup (we broke up right before Covid happened), I went to Inpatient times because I knew I was going to do something and didn’t want to. I’m 28 now and recently went to Inpatient again. My mom audaciously claimed that I was running away from problems. What does that even mean when inpatient keeps you for at most a week and I have to come right back to my problems? My mom is an amazing woman, but I realize that she has patriarchy in her as well. It doesn’t help that I’m her oldest child and only son.

I agree with the people saying that the larger issue is the behavior of the grown men, but this is a valid point. My understanding is that it usually happens because younger people are probably more active and involved in streamer's communities but there's a lot of like, mental labor and power dynamic to it that should at least spark conversation.

the worse thing about all of this is that you can also ask brazilian and mexican men and you can hear these exact same stories
patriarchy is big in multiple cultures

I had already watched and listened to FD, Scru, Curtiss, and a host of others who posted about this. I want to say that even 'tho those immediate responses were gratifying, I really appreciate that you waited to come in and comment only after making sure you had time to fully observe and digest. What is particularly powerful is that you and FD didn't make the grotesquerie that Ak and his ilk are the focus. It's the spectatorship normalizing his behavior that makes it clear that if a mirror was held up to him... we'd see more of the "weird" than we'd like to acknowledge in our communities.

Fd is the reason why I started to look into the “patriarchy”. He made amazing points in his video. I’d love to hear you speak on it to. (Considering that you’re one of the 3 people on TH-cam I’d listen to about it)

I listened to Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers in full for about the third time today, and I'm finally starting to understand it. Sadly, that's partly because of all the disgusting stuff that's been put in the spotlight in the past year. I'm looking forward to the next season of Dissect to really dig into it and contextualize it in everything that's been going on since.

FD's been saying this for the last 2 years he's been on the scene. Really didn't believe him until I asked my friends. Deadass ALL of them have had interactions like this, and a few of them actually did lose their virginity this way

FD signifier might be one of the greatest TH-camrs on the platform. I think it’s so interesting about his content is the fact that it’s so transgressive in a space where that should be controversial yet he’s able to thrive and he’s so smart with the way he speaks on topics he clearly has a lot of knowledge on everything he touches and that makes me really trust what I’m getting from him as well. He helps me do a lot of reflecting and a lot of learning about myself and things like masculinity classicism racism and it’s really helped me as a young adult just turning 21 last year and now I might have to go rewatch that Kendrick Drake documentary because it’s so damn good.

I got in to a whole ass relationship when I was 14 with a 24 year old woman. I remember my friends thinking it was cool af. After that relationship was over, I remember it warping my thoughts and feelings of what love was. I remember turning 18 and thinking how nasty it was that a person that was 24 could even look at a 14 year old child in a sexual way.

This didn’t surprise me at all! When my sons started gaming and wanted to play PS or Xbox live I only had one rule…. No headphones. I would sit on the computer/clean while they played in there room w the door open so I could listen to their conversation. Some of them were so inappropriate I’d make the boys drop out of the game and join different teams. They were grown adults on there that just didn’t care and found it funny to tell your children about things they had no business knowing about. My sons are adults now but at the time that rule worked in our home but it seems ppl on the net haven’t changed at all. I’m glad we’re past that stage in life. Great coverage as always.
