The Difference between Waterback and Dryback Boilers - The Boiling Point

- On today's episode of The Boiling Point, Gerald and Ritchie address a topic that WARE gets a lot of questions about-the difference between waterback and dryback boilers.
Chapters:
Dryback 1:41
2-Pass Waterback 8:49
3-Pass Waterback 9:58
A dryback boiler design means that the rear wall is lined with refractory. As an example, Gerald shows us a dryback boiler by Victory Energy that is engineered to optimize water circulation, promote heat transfer, and engineered for long-term performance and reduced maintenance. Using a dryback boiler, you can use up to 10% less fuel.
Waterback boiler designs have a water gap between the furnace and back wall, and all of the heat is generated directly into water. Waterback designs are just as durable as dryback designs, but must have a heat balance in the system.
Be sure to watch the entire video for a very important announcement from WARE.

So Clearly explained Highly appreciated
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
I dont Completely agree with Dry back retaining so much heat to actually act as a heat accumulator but i do agree with dry back being more accessible.
Of course it does. Insulated refractory does reduce heat loss due to high porosity distributed evenly. Result: less thermal conductivity.
Great video and learning tool! Thanks!
i appreciate your explanation. nice one
Thank you for your beautiful information
Awesome episode! I starting reading boiler thinking taking some courses
Thanks for watching!
Sir, question with regards to the rifled tube increasing the heating surface, to the maintenance side, on PMS of tubes, is there no problem in removing minimal deposited soots on rifled tube? what are other means aside from using rotary brush?
Wow, nice video thank you

impressive!
Good info
Really appreciate the comment. We try to get information out there that's both interesting and helpful. Please make sure to like the video and share it! Thanks!
Excellent. What is a surface blow down.... We normally see bottom blow down.
Also, what is the advantage of surface blowdown.
Thanks for your valuable time.
Take a look at our video here th-cam.com/video/d5N8rbBoGJE/w-d-xo.html and see if that helps out. We are actually looking at doing a Weekly Boiler Tips on surface blowdown here soon!
@@wareboilers Thanks for your excellent video.
Some dissolved solids in water that are distilled behind when water evaporates Float and Some sink. The dissolved solids that float need surface Blowdown and the ones that sink need Bottom Blowdown.
It's confuse that dry back refractory acts as a thermal sink. Because this energy ever comes from the burner. But all of this is a very interesting explanation

How to Ready for Boilar in rice mill
Not sure what you mean. Are you asking about getting a boiler ready to operate?
Ware werks, we yanks keep em up at night and appreciate the completion
I always though dryback was someone who came here legally... i know bad joke... good presentation
Nice video. But NOX at 30 ppm....this something i would like to see :D
It's possible! Using systems such as the Limpsfield Burner and an Autoflame Controller you can dial down the NOx to 30 ppm with varying degrees of efficiency. You can check more out here www.wareinc.com/combustion and please give us a call if you have more questions, we would be happy to help. Thanks for the comment!
isn't one made in mexico?
I love your comment.
Victory Energy boilers are actually manufactured in Oklahoma. Appreciate your comment and thanks for watching.
Jimmy Doe, Was going to make that joke too! XD
I don't get it?
Only talk about boilers
We are! Boilers are all we know! Haha Thanks for watching!
I am thinking go back to my country and save your phone number guys. To get some boilers to my country El Salvador. I actually in new york Now
For Mexican’s only
Not explained well
