  • Alex and I pick up his 'new to him' 2003 BMW E39 M5 and drive it back from Las Vegas to Seattle in two days! It already has over 100k miles on it so what is 1,400 more going to hurt? Let us know what you think the perfect road trip car from the early 2000's would be because our vote is the E39 M5

If you could do a long trip in any car, where would you go and what would you be driving?

@@autoviceofficial sweet. It’s a car I’ve wanted for years, thinking about pulling the trigger in 2024. Enjoy seeing others share their e39s

Great trip in an awesome car. Ive had my 2002 Beast for 4 yrs now.. Getting ready to turn over 50K miles on mine. It had 28K when i bought it. Every mile in a Beast puts a smile on your face!!

Hi. Nice car in lovely black on black 👍 more details of the car itself would be nice to see on the video… also more information concerning specs…
But please put the original rims back on the car as fast as possible. The e39 m5 needs it. There is no rims looking better. Also i would go back to the original chrone grill. This car was perfect from factory there is no need for changes instead of maybe lowering a bit and change muffler because the originals are very quiet…
For me the e39 m5 is the best car ever. In a few years the price will be so high not many poeple can afford… go get one now if you can.
This car can do it all ❤️

Thanks for the feedback! We will put together a follow up video soon. As for the rims, that will be up to Alex although I might have a car coming to me soon that could use them ;)

Hi Klaus, great points! I already have a stock grill on the way, and the stock rims are in the garage... might switch back to them one of these days. Thanks for watching!

if theres any aftermarket wheels to go on an e39 m5, BBS LM is probably about the best choice you can make. in my opinion you can't beat M-parallels on an e39 though

This car is an absolute gem on a long road trip! Is the e39 peak sports sedan?? I think so...

Love the trip videos! M5 is always an interesting car, though when my buddy had it a few years ago, I was actually disappointed with the lack of comfort compared to a regular E39. I don't know, maybe that very car was stiffer or something. But anyways, the sound was great.

Sport boys but the best sedan for thet kind of road trip is a E320 or E500 Mercedes Benz. Proper highway car not a poxy BMW.

A Merc huh??? Hey, a good car is a good car but for now we’ll have to take your word for it.

slower on the straights. maybe a bit more comfortable but with way less useful tech. corners like it weighs twice as much. and less mpg.... merc is not up to standards compared to the m5

Ahahahahahahahahaha can't open the gas cap....
E39 eats miles for breakfast.... Can do 1000 miles a day easy in mine. V8 rulez.

We felt like such noobz haha! Totally agree that this car eats up the miles though...and gas.

Hey guys, beautiful M5! I'm in Utah and just picked up my first M5 as well (2000 with 116k miles). Glad you made it home without major issues hah

It is not good to start the car by pushing and its engine is made of iron chain which is not good for the engine

I had the same issue when I purchased my first E38 with the gas door. Took me 2hrs at the pump in Texas. Very funny

Wait a minute you guys put gas 250 miles away so gas was full because you didn’t no how to open the gas door
