That was the best, most honest, down to earth review I have ever watched, just subscribed as it is so nice to see someone actaully go into the real details rather than the just specs.
@@mungo75hi sure I bought a yellow Richa jacket it’s the thicker made one don’t know name. But that said I’ve recently bought the Oxford floral jacket and pants 5xl and they have worked great Very fairly priced too. If I was thinner I’d buy the Scott what Mick and Moe wear. But don’t be put off by the Oxfords cheaper price so far they’re very good. I wear yellow as I think you needto stand out in the rain.
The new version has now an inside pocket I believe, is that correct? It also has elastic at the bottom to help stop it riding up. The D30 ghost is more flexible and thinner so reportedly more comfortable, - I think AAA protection whereas the older version is AA I think. I am considering buying the new jacket, but given the price it is taking a lot of research.
Yes inside pocket it has pull cords in the side pockets that pinch it tighter, I had the ghost armour but its too small prefer the std armour thats comfy enough too. The reason I didn't buy one is the fact is does not have arm straps to secure positioning of armour it flops around anywhere. Plus metal ZIPPS Why?? Some of the company's still have the mK1 id be looking for that if i was you.
I think if your looking for a better summer jacket that the Merrakesh which i do love the mk1 but it dont vent as much as everyone bangs on about. Try the Klim induction i think i n=may buy one too, @@markc1967
@@flapjackbeansquick update. I went for the version two Marrakesh, and really pleased with it. Fits me perfectly, and it really is as comfortable as people say. Also went for the Klim Zepher under jacket and a pair of Klim Induction gloves. Wallet is a bit lighter though 😢
Yes I did just that but it has no straps and IMHO the armour could be anywhere in the event of a fall. I tried it again see latest video Im still undecided. But love the copy part of it.

Those forearm straps are very useful, I actually chose my MC gear based on those... guess on the gen 2 vanity rules not function
Yes tested the new one but still prefer the older one it's all about costs !
Been looking at this jacket, great review! Thanks mate!!!
No problem 👍
@@flapjackbeans Mind if I ask which Richa jacket you use as a waterproof top layer please?

Great review, enjoyed it..👍👍
Thanks 🙂
isnt the D30 Ghost armor supposed to be an improvement over the old armor and thinner at the same time?
Yes but its hardly anything its too small IMHO.
But it has better impact protection
@@stephenmarshall373 Only if the armour its in place which as it has no straps it moves very easy IMHO.
The Grey one looks a far better quality jacket..........the cut of it suits you better as well (speaking as a fellow "chunky" chap)

Thanks for the video
The Marrakesh jacket is on my radar for this years tour. Interesting that it has taken a step backwards from the old version.
I revisited the KLIM Marrakesh 2 last weeks video on our channel still think its a bad move especially the metal zips .Did you bite the bullet ?
@@flapjackbeans not yet mate, plan to take a trip to Sports Bike Shop in Preston after Easter to try one on.
