Considering that Luffy was running on essentially nothing and barely had a plan, despite knowing his good intentions, Zoro didn't seem like the kind of guy to hang out with what must have looked like a total airhead to him at that point.
So two guys that are able to beat the shit outta anybody, one with no sense of direction, one who cant swim, on a small boat in the middle of the sea without a navigator. Yeah they definitely survived that.

this is why zoro is my favorite straw hat. this guy is not only hella badass and strong but his loyalty to Luffy is insane. he could've chosen to ran away since he saw how pathetic luffy was in terms of ship and crewmates but he didn't, he's definitely the best second mate in all of one piece

Luffy already knew what he needed to do, but Zoro told it to Luffy straight that he could not let his authority be undermined in important matters. Zoro is generally quiet, but speaks when it matters...or whenever the Pervert Cook acts up.

Zoro being the vice captain took it upon himself to be the sort of “grounded” and “snap you back to reality” type of crewmate that thought of this stuff. One of my 2 favorite scenes and or things he does/says is when he took luffys pain, and when he had to tell luffy to get a grip when they were at punk hazard. Zoro: “LUFFY! Get a grip, This is the new world!
There's also the moment on Water 7 where Zoro stops Luffy and the others from accepting Usopp back with open arms, and gives a speech about what it means to give respect to the captain, and the importance of the outcome of a duel., saying he'll refuse to accept Usopp back unless he apologises sincerely first. And he doesn't just address Luffy, but everyone in the room.

I think this level of light heartedness is something that the Live Action Zoro missed. Zoro behaves too much like post-timeskip. He's much more animated in the earliest episodes
i thought the the opposite, LA zoro was really smiling a lot and laughing with the crew, more than usual, this scene here is the only one where we see zoro have a big laugh, it's not like he was like this throughout the first arcs bro

@@zoro3532 You do have to remember when he got poisoned in impel down and got 'healed' by the hormone-hormone fruit it did take quite a bit off of his life span. (I think it was ~20 years) And then of course each time he enters gear second it also shortens it by a small bit.

Being Pirate King to Luffy I feel was just an excuse to have a big adventure with lots of friends up until Thriller Bark There were lots of dangers, but most problems Luffy tackled concerned other people, he was just there to help. Sabaody was the turning point, where Luffy realized the gravity of the situation, and where he and his crew lie in the world; he's still a dumbass, but at least he sees the need of planing ahead Now being Pirate King went from a silly dream to an attainable goal, if he plays his cards right

He's laughed every now and then, but not like he used to. There's a difference between being a pirate in the east blue (the weakest sea) and being a pirate in a sea with a monster that has an eating disorder and the power to suck your life force, a beast meters tall that literally can't die, an entire government hunting you down that has a guy who can control the fucking gravity, a sociopathic flamingo with a fetish for....killing, a country sized elephant, islands that range from paradise to hypothermia inducing hellzones, and taking on all of this shit with the dumbest captain in existence. I think Zoro's serious attitude is justified a tiny bit...
So do I! Here, it's a choice of style! You can like it or not, but it's still better than the shitty animation that we sometimes get in the current episodes.
The backgrounds are way better now but this is a nicer animation style and really fits the show, even better than the art style Oda had when he started drawing the manga.
Oda himself said that he doesn't like to draw the women like that (but he does "fanservice" and because it's easier to draw them with the big boobs and stuff)

Well, I am going to save this girl who knows how to revive a superweapon. That way I will have the opportunity to save her again from a bunch of furry spies who want to stop her from reviving the superweapon. In the process I will also save a pervert who happened to be kidnapped for the same reason. Then that pervert will use money I got from an island in the sky to build the ship for us to repay his debt.
That's one of my favorite parts of One Piece. In another anime Luffy would be strong cause of his crazy family. Here, he's a prodigy, but so are tons of other people with normal parents. Even crazy mutants like Big Mom still earned their power.

Maybe afterwards we will land in a horror island where we meet a perverted skeleton who happens to be alive and know how to defeat the zombies we encounter there and I will end up having to defeat a disproportionately huge guy and later plan to go to fishman island until we find some fishmen and they show us this place where we attack some annoying wankers, meet other strong dudes, meet the first mate of Roger's crew and end up getting separated from a huge bear dude where I would be sent to an island of women and be superly ignorant to much that their empress will fall in love with me to which I will find out my brother has been captured and go out to infiltrate an imprenetrable prison to try and break him out and in turn find old enemies and allies there who will all help me and cause a huge riot until I find out he isn't there and then head towards the greatest war ever with a huge guy with a huge moustache and my grandpa and Buddha and their armies whilst trying to save my brother until he is impaled by some asshole's fist and to which I then am saved by everyone out of pity and respect and survive the ordeal and after much trepidation realise that I have to continue on and become stronger than all and reunite with my crew. love this whole interaction especially after seeing how hard Zoro is on himself and the crew, and on Luffy especially. Remember that part where he found out Luffy got captured by Caesar once and he told him in the most serious tone that’s it only the beginning of the new world? ugh that was one of my fav captain and vice captain moments. zoro was also looking mighty fine in his fur coat so it just added to the intensity i felt lol
No Ussopp take his concept. Start by luffy draw the flag but end up looking so bad. Then ussopp saw and draw a better one but follow the same concept like with strawhat on the top. Watch that ep again

And then of course each time he enters gear second it also shortens it by a small bit.
