it's Nintendos fault for the bad update but also Pocket pair a little bit for the issues with Calling out pals, obviously it needed more testing, and Throwing our pals in certain places was a Part of Strategy, they should give us a Different way To Call them out in different places, Like maybe point the reticle to a certain place and the pal just spawns there? no throwing Animation, so that shouldn't be a problem?

Summoned pals stuck half in the floor is common after update, particularly if you are on a upstairs floor in your base. It also occurs at least once in most boss fights. Combat is almost totally broken. No reticle (crosshair) to aim just makes your shots miss. Grappling gun is also erratic with no reticle. Summoned pets when they appear alongside can be stuck or move to the wrong target (workstation, mining node or enemy). If there was a cursor or aiming reticle that you could set as the target when summoning, you would not have to rely on the AI guessing what you want to do. Just ran some tests my my PS5. Here’s some workarounds to the new patch: 1. Flying pal stuck in your base releasing from your party? The glitch is due to releasing the pal on the edges. Practice lining up the release to hit the center of a foundation or ceiling tile and your pal won’t get stuck. The easy method is to have the player character stand where two tiles meet. To be clear, do not stand on the center of a tile or where four tiles come together. Stand where TWO tiles come together so the pal spawns on the center of the right tile. 2. You can still assign party pals to work if you are close to the station or thing you need them to build. The same “center of tile” release from #1 is needed to avoid getting stuck.
You can't change the Pal anymore when you Breed it out of its Egg. The Stats, Gender and Abilitys stay the same if you try again by loading in right before you breed it
I was playing last night with my girlfriend and I didn’t even notice we couldn’t throw our pals at stuff anymore while raiding the oil rig alls I really noticed was my pals got stuck in the ground
Imo i think it'd have been nice having the pal out like a jojo sand, while you aim a beam of the form comes out behind you, you point to where you want the pal to go, and it bursts out and flies forward. Adds a different mechanic and feel to bringing out the pals and is a reference to a certain anime.. also nintendo doesn't have that way of summoning yet.
@@Bullminator I get what you're saying, but developing two different versions of the same game with other gameplay mechanics... is different from removing or altering a graphical asset. That said, Palworld is *already* developing many different versions of the same game. Not only for consoles, but they're actually packaging the game files differently depending on whether you're playing the PC version on Steam or the Microsoft Store. Not sure if they'd want an even more complicated dev pipeline.
If they insist on no sphere throwing, I hope they'll replace it with a launcher. Have it be small like the grappling hook, and because it's an item, give it upgrades.
What confuses me is if nintendo made them do this, then why are cryo pods still in ark? They work the same way thrown, and then a creature spawns where it lands, right?
Nintendo won't win against Take Two, Rockstar's parent company. Take Two is basically the Nintendo of the U.S. or U.K. copyright system, Nintendo doesn't really go after big companies outside of Japan, because Japanese copyright law is archaic allowing them to hold patents they would not be granted elsewhere, and have already been told that the patents they applied for in the U.S. based around this lawsuit were too broad. Nintendo would get body slammed if they tried to make a case in the U.S. or U.K. against Rockstar/ Take Two, and they would lose the patents. They are going after Pocket Pair because it's less risky, and even then they are still doing it predominantly in Japan, yes both companies are Japanese, but this lawsuit doesn't hold water outside of Japan, otherwise Nintendo would have filed them in multiple countries at the same time to make sure Palworld was no more.
They need to make a Ben 10 like watch or something where you can at least use a laser or “blast” to summon/capture pals Since the object mechanic may be an issue
Wait! What happens to catching Pals? Is it still the same? Because that was also mentioned in the lawsuit. Are we suddenly going to absorb Pal souls to catch something? lol
Odd change? It's terrible. You even explained how the reticle change is horrible. and The Pal summoning change makes combat so much worse, as positioning pals when you swap them out was a key part of the flow. In addition, now you can't send them out instantly to a specific work station. because not only can you not properly aim at a distant station, but you can't send them there manually.
We all know palworld most likely doesn’t even like these changes but they have to so they can continue with the future of this game. I’m pretty sure they will change it in the future to find a way around Nintendo not suing them. Overall (F U NINTENDO)
Third person games have had the Reticle for decades, How is Nintendo able to own that???? And throwing things at enemies have existed for the past 3 decades in games NOT by Nintendo. They would be laughed at in EVERY COURT not in Japan!!
Think of like pressing the button of the ball and boom opens. This change is probably because of Nintendo and they’re doing what they can with what they have but maybe shooting a capsule out of a gun as an option would be better. With the character changes it’s probably for a more realistic experience
Like a human or Pal, we must deal with what we have for now. I played MH3 and learned to fight underwater despite how clunky it felt (and how the new summon feature and target marker somewhat remind me of it), but we still adapted. I'm just thankful that we still have Palworld and we still have FREE content updates 😂
Maybe since now they are summoned we can throw their essence and have it have the same arc patterns as it was before but we aren't throwing a ball or catching device but the pals essence itself therefore nint.... can just hop off
I've noticed that if I take out Jetragon on base at an upper level, he gets stuck in the roof and I can't ride him... Also used to be able to mouse wheel scroll through pal party to select one to throw before releasing "E" key doesn't work anymore...
Yeah, I think the flyers getting stuck is due to the the removal of aiming to bring a pal out of the party. The best workaround I’ve found is to take out your flyer at the base edge and jump on while holding the partner skill button.

I will be sure to triple check where my money goes, and spread the information that Nintendo will kill any game that threatens them so they can continue to make their own copies of Shin Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest, and Ultra Seven.

@@ballom29 Yeah... I just looked up the latest patch notes. I hope they take this criticism and revert the changes though. I understand the points they made in the patch notes to try streamline the gameplay, but it just feels more awkward than before.
Allegedly these changes were made due to some of the more 'undeniable' patents Nintendo is shouldering at PocketPair. Once they formulate around it, there should be changes upcoming that will build off the game as it is now and make the game smoother once more. But 100% these changes were made due to Nintendo. There'd be no reason to go back on core mechanics PocketPair started with and functioned perfectly fine.
@@kodainogema8145 This is totally a measure to try to dodge the lawsuit allegation (playign on the fact you're summonign the pal but not throwing the sphere to summon them) Therefore maybe they'll eventually revert the change (especially if they won), but in the near future I don't expect them at all to roll back even if it make everybody unhappy (unless they later conclude it was a pointless move )
We should continue to shoot our way. What about The Palgun. You catch pals by shooting a special and re usable high caliber capture bullet. Same with summoning switch bullets to get the pal you want reload shoot and Summon!!
This is hurtful to early players wanting to take on tougher pals like myself. Challenging anubis while under leveled almost *requires* you to rely on long distance pal throwing. With that being removed it's gonna be hard to not get rushed by it and other pals.
The reticle removal makes absolutely no sense and for people saying this is involved with nintendo then let me repeat myself and say it that is makes absolutely no sense. This is a mechanic that has been around before Nintendo's pokemon even existed in an arcade game called Sea wolf made in 1976!
And so it begins Updates killing the fun... The Crosshair fainting while not using annoyed me and as solution remove it completely instead of a steady one. No throwing your Pal near the enemy or signaling to attack. It´s horrible they have to change that back!
is there more stuff to do on the steam version? been playing on gamepass for a couple weeks and im level 49 but i dont see the point in grinding anymore since theres not much more to do or earn lol
Honestly these changes may be strange at first impression, obvious we have with other modes of aiming, both for weapons and for throwing pals, but they are not changes that make the game, unplayable as I hear so many say on yt and reddit, it just needs to be gotten used to, like on day one. Especially aiming is not a problem at all, nothing a little shooter practice won't fix and the bugs we know, with every update/patch that pocketpair releases, there are a handful, just wait a few days and they will release more fixes.
We're stuck with Gliding Pals, the 4 Gobfins trick with Vanguard & Stronghold Strategist, & fighting/farming solo. It feels like I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas but even buggier.
I'm sure someone will make a mod to bring back proper pal summoning-screw Nintendo for bullying a small dev instead of mentoring them. Competition is always good for everybody.
There is a lot of copium of modders fixing this, but here is the thing; Nintendo has made it quite apparent they WILL go after mods and modders. It won't be fast, but they will go after them
That is true, I mean sure they have gone after mods before. BUT does that kill those mods? No it doesn't, for other games for example.. Pixelmon and Cobblemon still exist despite violating Nintendo. So if modders re add these mechanics, they will return, especially if the modders release the source.
like other people stated, most likely due to nintendos garbage patent infringement claims. who know, if Nintendo lose the case they could possibly change it back
They've already lost. If they're changing things, they've already lost. Hey, uh... aren't they forgetting something? Nintendo is demanding this game's execution in any case.
I think they are going in the path "Better be safe than sorry", so they put in stuff that will easily replaced if Nintendo win Just my opinion of course, but I really hope this changes is not permanent
Yeah, I think they just cut out things to prevent a full injunction. Hopefully they find other mechanics to replace. Honestly, the Pal Sphere isn’t essential to this game, so I’d be fine with a new capture and send out method that keeps the game alive.
The summoning spawn isn't that horrible of a change, stupid and unnecessary, but not horrible. And unless you're on console the reticle will likely be modded back in by modders.
On PS5 I tried to pause this update & the console unpacked it & installed it. I purchased this on sale & have over 60 hours of game time. If this is where I end my journey oh well because things are likely gonna get worse due to Nintendo.

I hope for that change!! A gun that shoot sphere at short range for the early game and the launcher for long range and multiple pals.
They should make summoning your pal easier. Not buying another pokemon game if this is how they are going to treat other game developers. Wasnt even because the pals we're similar, just things that look similar
it's Nintendos fault for the bad update but also Pocket pair a little bit for the issues with Calling out pals, obviously it needed more testing, and Throwing our pals in certain places was a Part of Strategy, they should give us a Different way To Call them out in different places, Like maybe point the reticle to a certain place and the pal just spawns there? no throwing Animation, so that shouldn't be a problem?
It sucks not being able to aim my flying Pal's attacks now.
Biggest issue with the aiming is, now you cannot aim Pal skills when riding. Aiming pulls out your weapon instead.
I can live with the cross hair change but I think they need to redo the pal summoning. Considering the feedback I think they will work on it more and maybe have the creature shoot out of the ball instead or something.
Thankfully the reticle thing is no doubt something modders will restore. The summoning pals thing however might be harder.
Yeah On PC Not Anywhere Else.
And hopefully while they are at it they will make it more visible. Most of the stuff in game is light colored so a white cross hair really doesn't show up very well.
I hope they change the Pal Summon to where they spawn "in the air".
Cause right now they get stuck in the floor ALOT.
The AI is good most of the time but not infallible.
I do not miss the balls as I always thought they were ridiculous.
at least add toggle for the crosshairs
Set steam to offline mode -- click steam -- 3th option go offline
To prevent auto-update from happening go to settings --) downloads ---) schedule auto updates (enable) --) under that --) restrict updates to betwen (time you will never be on - 2 and 3 in morning)

Wait, wasn't the summoning the same in craftopia?
yeah but craftopia wasnt a direct competitor for nintendo, not an actual threat. Palworld on the other hand IS a Direct Threat.
Just ran some tests my my PS5. Here’s some workarounds to the new patch:
The Stats, Gender and Abilitys stay the same if you try again by loading in right before you breed it
Damn thats a bummer, I was planning on getting male Bellanoir today.
@malapias glad I did it yesterday but Breeding for a Perfect one is such Pain in the Ahh with the 5% chance of being Male
I was playing last night with my girlfriend and I didn’t even notice we couldn’t throw our pals at stuff anymore while raiding the oil rig alls I really noticed was my pals got stuck in the ground
As expected, All Palworld has to do to avoid those ridiculous patent infringements is to change their mechanics a little bit.
Worst update so far, hope this is only temporary and they rework the whole summoning pal mechanic, because this just feels like a huge downgrade
Imo i think it'd have been nice having the pal out like a jojo sand, while you aim a beam of the form comes out behind you, you point to where you want the pal to go, and it bursts out and flies forward. Adds a different mechanic and feel to bringing out the pals and is a reference to a certain anime.. also nintendo doesn't have that way of summoning yet.
everything in this patch is stupid
Yea but 90% sure they had to do this cause of the lawsuit situation
@@itsuno3695 They should change it for japan only. Let JP suffer.
@@Bullminator That's not how it works.
@@Regolant1 Tell this to germans that have stuff removed or chinese that dont have skeletons.
In the United States where Studio Wildcard resides, Nintendo's patents would NEVER fly nowadays; the judges would immediately laugh it off.
@Cattivagirl Makes sense.
I didn't know Nintendo also patented no-scope aiming lol
GTA and all third person shooting games should be afraid now. Nintendo is utterly ridiculous
And probably all the ARPG in the word
@@hiddenkitty2911 ok chill, it was a joke, you dont need to write a wall of text for that.
@@cristy_171 Yeah Ikr, I was being sarcastic haha
They haven't idk why they removed the crosshair when hip firing it has nothing to do with the lawsuit rlly hope they revert it
They need to make a Ben 10 like watch or something where you can at least use a laser or “blast” to summon/capture pals
Since the object mechanic may be an issue
Wait! What happens to catching Pals? Is it still the same? Because that was also mentioned in the lawsuit. Are we suddenly going to absorb Pal souls to catch something? lol
I still like to use shotgun when farming oil rig. Hipfiring is gonna be hard. Wonder why this change was necessary.
Nintendo
Some believe this is because the patent BS
Billionaire company's can just change laws at will then punish all those that did the thing before the law even existed
My alpha Jormuntide Ignis gets stuck in the ground because of this
They need to put a poll of some really cool fan options I. What items fans want to throw out instead of a sphere. Idk
now we just need to wait for mods lol to change some of the stuff back
any idea why my work benches become periodically unreachable???, i usually have to rebuild them for pals to reach them again.
We all know palworld most likely doesn’t even like these changes but they have to so they can continue with the future of this game. I’m pretty sure they will change it in the future to find a way around Nintendo not suing them. Overall (F U NINTENDO)
not f i straight up gona say go k your self nintendo
Good Thing my Nintendo Switch is a coffee coaster...but after this, i may use it as a toilet paper holder
The reticule. Doesn't like...every game have something like this? This should not have changed.
I was on my thunder panda earlier and I wasn't getting the reticule when I was trying to aim the grenade launcher
So Nintendo can claim rights to a mechanic yet borrowed heavily from final fantasy combat/exploration hmm kettle black methinks
The oil Rig is scuff on my world after the patch the gold chest is open I even loaded another save data
I'm not ok with it lol.
Maybe since now they are summoned we can throw their essence and have it have the same arc patterns as it was before but we aren't throwing a ball or catching device but the pals essence itself therefore nint.... can just hop off
They tryna get rid of the similarities with this lawsuit
I've noticed that if I take out Jetragon on base at an upper level, he gets stuck in the roof and I can't ride him...
Also used to be able to mouse wheel scroll through pal party to select one to throw before releasing "E" key doesn't work anymore...
Now I feel like that later part is a bug, considering it was not listed in the patch notes.
Yeah, I think the flyers getting stuck is due to the the removal of aiming to bring a pal out of the party. The best workaround I’ve found is to take out your flyer at the base edge and jump on while holding the partner skill button.
I hope these are just bugs instead of actual reworks due to the lawsuit. I was honestly thinking about getting a nintendo switch and trying out the newer pokemon games since the last one I played was Ultra Sun, but nope. At this point, I will no longer be supporting Nintendo in anyway. I will be sure to triple check where my money goes, and spread the information that Nintendo will kill any game that threatens them so they can continue to make their own copies of Shin Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest, and Ultra Seven.
"I hope these are just bugs instead of actual reworks due to the lawsuit. "
Not bug, it's clearly mentionned in the patch note... after the implementation is bugged yes
@@kodainogema8145 This is totally a measure to try to dodge the lawsuit allegation (playign on the fact you're summonign the pal but not throwing the sphere to summon them)
Therefore maybe they'll eventually revert the change (especially if they won), but in the near future I don't expect them at all to roll back even if it make everybody unhappy (unless they later conclude it was a pointless move )
Ultra Sun's great, but Pokémon's gone downhill ever since. You're making a good decision either way if you don't play the modern games
Dang. Throwing pals on bandith caps was my go to strategy too. Shame..
Is it legal to just mod this stuff back in?
The reticle removal makes absolutely no sense and for people saying this is involved with nintendo then let me repeat myself and say it that is makes absolutely no sense. This is a mechanic that has been around before Nintendo's pokemon even existed in an arcade game called Sea wolf made in 1976!
I’m on PS5 and the Reticle has never been there unless you aim.
#cancel nintendo
...my pals now get summoned below the ground..........
Honestly these changes may be strange at first impression, obvious we have with other modes of aiming, both for weapons and for throwing pals, but they are not changes that make the game, unplayable as I hear so many say on yt and reddit, it just needs to be gotten used to, like on day one. Especially aiming is not a problem at all, nothing a little shooter practice won't fix and the bugs we know, with every update/patch that pocketpair releases, there are a handful, just wait a few days and they will release more fixes.
dinossom just gets stuck in the ground not sure if it effects any other pals
as i told you on another vid, just put crosshair on rivatuner that come with msi afterburner. i used it on my palworld gameplay video, easy to do.
Game basicly unplayable if you use pals at all most of the time pal will spawn in the map
We're stuck with Gliding Pals, the 4 Gobfins trick with Vanguard & Stronghold Strategist, & fighting/farming solo. It feels like I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas but even buggier.
The update on xbox breaks summoning small pals like mimog specifically. Idk how to report the bug but its really bad.
I'm sure someone will make a mod to bring back proper pal summoning-screw Nintendo for bullying a small dev instead of mentoring them. Competition is always good for everybody.
Every gaming monitor has a built in crosshair option.
Make a Palmerang that catches and summons pals. Theres gotta be a better solution 5han this 😢
Camt we just lazer it out of our face or something?
There is a lot of copium of modders fixing this, but here is the thing; Nintendo has made it quite apparent they WILL go after mods and modders. It won't be fast, but they will go after them
mods wont gonna hit by it, it's a gameplay mod and not a copyrighted material.
@@yasunakaikumi You realize the lawsuit is about gameplay patents, not copyrighted material?
What are laws even for
That is true, I mean sure they have gone after mods before. BUT does that kill those mods? No it doesn't, for other games for example..
Pixelmon and Cobblemon still exist despite violating Nintendo.
So if modders re add these mechanics, they will return, especially if the modders release the source.
did they change the catching mechanic like do you need to be up there face to catch them
Well that's certainly annoying.
Who even asked for this?.. 🤦🏻♂️
What purpose does this update even serve?
like other people stated, most likely due to nintendos garbage patent infringement claims. who know, if Nintendo lose the case they could possibly change it back
@@Caveman90210559I sure hope this is not something permanent
They are trying to stop a full injunction. This is amputation to save the main body. It sucks, but I get why they are doing it.
if nintendo loses, which hope n pray that they do, pocketpair could add this stuff back in
Thanks Nintendo.
Palworld is still better than Pokemon thankfully.
They've already lost. If they're changing things, they've already lost. Hey, uh... aren't they forgetting something? Nintendo is demanding this game's execution in any case.
I think they are going in the path "Better be safe than sorry", so they put in stuff that will easily replaced if Nintendo win
Just my opinion of course, but I really hope this changes is not permanent
Yeah, I think they just cut out things to prevent a full injunction. Hopefully they find other mechanics to replace. Honestly, the Pal Sphere isn’t essential to this game, so I’d be fine with a new capture and send out method that keeps the game alive.
I don’t even really want to play the game anymore due to this.
And I know it is my fault for my stupid brain hating change and stuff like this.
@@trudiekannamayer6275 blame nintendo
The summoning spawn isn't that horrible of a change, stupid and unnecessary, but not horrible. And unless you're on console the reticle will likely be modded back in by modders.
So Nintendo owns throwing a ball now nice
Technically throwing ANY object, Disc, Cube, Ball, Pyramid, etc.
They patented it all.
So I'm guessing Pocketpair lost the lawsuit?
This change really is a huge downgrade, especially for position strategy... and aiming...

I don’t like how they change to throw the ball to release your pal.
A downgrade for the game
On PS5 I tried to pause this update & the console unpacked it & installed it. I purchased this on sale & have over 60 hours of game time. If this is where I end my journey oh well because things are likely gonna get worse due to Nintendo.
You know this lawsuit reminds me of?
Its like that one conversation in super star remake bowsr minions. Private goomp is like nintendo saying captain goomba copy their army
