Why would they store POISONOUS ITEMS in a locker? I bought an abandoned storage unit at auction

Why would they store poisonous items like this in a storage locker? Why would they even have them? This locker I bought at the abandoned storage auction gets weirder and weirder with each box I open.

That weird stuff that you're uncomfortable with, that ended up in the trash, is worth a lot of money. You might not agree with it or think it's odd or disgusting, but that stuff is worth some serious cash to the right people. I wish I could dig through your trash after this Locker!
@Feisty Shlomit im not talkin about the nazi shit. All the other "weird" stuff that makes most people uncomfortable is what i was refering to. Of course the nazi shit belongs in the trash!
My ex-husband collects WWII German military items. He is also a re-enactor. Those WWII items can be worth a lot of money, even the reproductions.
My Grandfather had a vial of mercury that we played with back in the 60's, not knowing how dangerous it was. I'm glad you're properly disposing of it.

I appreciate how you actually process your finds and sort as you go. Only handling stuff once is great. A lot of people frustrate because they show stuff and then throw it all back together.

Hey Jack, another fun unit. You really need gloves, especially when you know drugs are involved (Jewish Mother here). You have quite the assortment of goodies there.
If I can interject a moment, please keep in mind about the guy you're bashing his dad awards, he might have been a great dad, until drugs took over. Some rock/metal bands, for shock value, name songs strange and use gruesome imagery but the songs are not bad, like I said....some. When it comes to Nazi items, not everyone who has them is a biggot. My family has passed down items brought from Europe. I am the last in the family and it is my job to destroy them.

It's to stop them cutting themselves
And are worth a few $$$
That looks like a de-Boning glove. Butchers use it when they de-bone a carcas with very Sharp knives. Keeps all the fingers in place.

In the 1980s I was a dental assistant, and I spilled a vial of mercury one time. I had to roll it all up in little balls, roll them together, and give it all to the dentist to dispose of. Lol.

That blue thing with the thumbs up is an efficient phone holder for watching stuff on your phone.
It could be gallium - depends on the temperature. Gallium melts at body temp. If it is mercury, call the chemistry department at a local university and see if they want it. Or check to see if your city has a hazardous waste collection.

My grandparents told me they used to play with mercury all the time, back before they knew it was toxic. I don't think this locker belonged to an elderly person though, so it is odd to find, given the rest of the contents of the locker. Given the satanic stuff they appeared to be into, my guess would be alchemy. I googled the correlation between alchemy and mercury, the results said in alchemy, mercury was believed to shift between life and death because it could shift between liquid and solid. Seems rather fitting given the rest of the contents of the locker when put in that perspective.
That is really interesting, and definitely makes it fit into this guys locker too. Thanks for the info! Funny, my father-in-law said he used to play with mercury as a kid too. Oh how things change with generations.

I have a little tin of mercury that has been here since I was a kid we used to play with it. I never knew what to do with it so I kept it. Mine is silver not that dirty color.
Used to use the chain mail gloves when we were trimming cabbages vegetables with machetes trimming off the outermost leaves

Mesh gloves are like my grandfather used as he was a butcher in a lical meat processing co. Protects you from cutting your fingers off.
Came here to say this! I was a chef for 26 years and still have my chainmail glove. They are excellent for cleaning cast iron skillets as well.
Also, for the disposal of sharps containers, you can bring them to the waste management or recycling plants, they can dispose of them for you. Fire houses out here won't do it because it costs money to recycle them in WA. Check with your waste disposal people before bringing them in if this is the case in your state, as you may be able to save money by bringing in multiple containers at once. Here they charge you a flat fee for your first container, but the price is reduced if you bring more than one. (I've been type 1 diabetic since I was 5, I'm not a complete degenerate, I promise!)
I think the waste management near us also takes them, but the fire department is right up the street and has an outside drop box, so it’s super convenient.

Gold miners use mercury for separating fine gold or flower gold from black sand, there is a big market for it check your local laws first

Actually it's the type of gloves the use to open Oysters too. Just makes sure you don't cut yourself.
Used in restaurants for cutting neat, veggies, fruits etc
@@wolfeson1 I was a restaurant manager for 15 years we kept them for anyone slicing veggies, meat, etc...also required them to be used when using the meat slicer
