- This morning, with a belly full of grass and surrounded by the people that love him, my Dan was put to rest. Words are not enough to say how much this pony means to me, he has been my best friend for over half of my life and I can hardly remember a time without him. He watched me grow up and made so many of my hopes and dreams a reality. Over the last few years his Cushing’s and EMS has worsened, and with our best efforts at keeping him comfortable no longer working, we knew that the time had come for him to gain his wings and be pain free forevermore. He spent the whole morning eating whatever his heart desired (and as much as his belly would allow!) and went peacefully in my arms with the birds chirping around him. He is the best pony I ever knew, and I will spend the rest of my life missing him and telling people of all our stories. I know he touched so many of your hearts as well, and I want to say thank you for all of the love you gave him - I promise that he went knowing just how loved he is.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story and video. How lucky you are to be able to have these memories! It is obvious that you and Dan were perfect partners. I am 72 and I still think of my 'heart horse', Pete, (Call a Cab, show name). He saved my life back in the day when my mother took her life when I was 15. I will always be grateful for the time I had with him. There are just some horses and ponies that go beyond special and contribute a lasting legacy of fun, happiness and a bond that is life-long.
So sorry to hear about your mother. Horses really do help bandage and numb some of the pain. Whether that be keeping you busy with day to day life and chores or spending time with you in a field, they’re always there. Pete sounds like he was an amazing horse, I’m glad you had him in a time of need.

I remember watching Danny when I was younger and riding my pony. He was such a good cheeky boy all the time and he loved you so so much ❤. I lost my heart pony 4 months ago and it hurts so badly. But sometimes even just for 5 minutes it does feel better ❤️🩹. I hope you feel ok soon enough Gracie 🩷and fly high Danny boy, you deserve it 🤍🐴

What a superstar of a pony you had! You were a lucky kid to grow up and learn with a pony like him. I too had some amazing ponies and horses growing up, and it was so hard when each of them died. So sad you are currently going through that. Now at almost 50, I look back at them and feel such joy that I had them in my life, I wouldn’t be the horsewoman I am today without each of them, same as you wouldn’t be you, if Danny hadn’t been there.

Awh! That is so sad. I am so sorry for your loss - Dan will always be in your heart and in our heart! I was wondering sm why you did not upload in such a while. I did not know Dan(Your pony)Who was with you for literally half of your life is now gone! It must've been so hard you editing this - We all lose something in life. I lost one of my birds last year and it was the saddest thing ever seeing him. 😪 He is in a happier place now and is no longer suffering from respiratory infection. I didn't even realise he had this until it was to late! He is in a happier place and one were he will never suffer from anything again 🥲 I know what your going through. It's such a disgrace seeing him gone he will be forever happy now! :) Dan is the boy who makes us happy and smile remember we are all here for you Grace if you need to talk, you done everything to try and help his cushings and EMS but you couldn't ( I'm sure he appreciates what you done for him his whole life). Rest peacefully our little Dan you will be forever missed

I feel so bad for everyone who goes through a loss of a horse they love, I'm 49 and bawling my eyes out. I have the vet coming tomorrow...her resting spot is prepared,..a grave marker is ready...and a big hole in my life already watching her suffer until the vet can come :( May your pony run free and happy forever and perhaps he will meet mine there.
Aww, I am so sorry for you loss ( I am 11yrs old and I know the pain you must be going through) remember he is in a happier place now! he'll now never suffer from anything again! Last year my bird suffered from a respiratory infection and it was to late help him by the time I knew! The thing what makes me happy is that he id free flying high and always going to be happy Xxx

We had to put down a horse at my barn to he was in a lot of pain just know they are galloping in the field together
Awh! am so sorry to hear that. My bird died from a respiratory infection and when I realised he had it. It was to late to do anything! he is in a happier place now where he will never suffer from anything esle.
