Sikkim Bhutan has lot of similarities in fact the inhabitants of what is known as western bhutanese a Tibetan origin people who speaks dzongkha is of same ancestry like Bhutia. We still have a Clan in Haa and paro bhutan 🇧🇹 Tracing their origin to one of the Jowo khe bumsas brother. they are very Well built people. i heard pema yangtse monastery clans also trace origin to Jowo khe bumsa. not to forgot the current druk gyalpos paternal grandmother is Daugther of queen of Sikkim. So i think if we go deep, if you are also from Pemayangtse clan from jowo gebumsa you might be also a far relatives of Bhutanese current king & Royals.
Monks and Nuns do not need to bow to Royalties, because Royalty is still subjected to ignorance, rebirth and death and is "prestigious" only to the normal people but real Monks and Nuns are prestigious and precious in the whole realm of Samsara, practicing the Path to Nirbana, Bodhicitta and etc. Hence, if a King accepts bowing from a Monk, his merits are deeply affected. So, in order to protect people and truly execute the practice of Liberation, real Monks and Nuns treat Royalties just like any normal person, do not differentiate and also do not bow to them.
When attending to members of the Royal Family of Bhutan, protocol demands that you as the PRO wear you KAPNI on your right sidee....... NOT around you.
