    Thanks. You really should include health insurance / medical costs.
    Looking forward to our first scouting trip to Porto in April.
    btw - I am in my fourth month of language certification at 2x or 4 hours a week. I cannot imagine what it was like to go 5 days a week.

    Loved the content and graphics. Would love a graphic with a safety score, crime score, English speaking score & healthcare system score for each country. What 2-3 cities would you be most interested in & why? Happy New year! Love your channel!!!

    Please, take into account the Numbeo crime level index of the internet in these cities. A lot are not even for my wildest dreams, safety is bad and the crime level is unacceptable for me. Medellín ???

    Thank you for this wonderful video, your top 12 cities in the world with a monthly cost of living under USD1.5K. Glad that KL is in your list. Happy New Year 2025.

      In Malaysia, besides KL the capital, there more cities to choose from with cost of living less than in KL. In Klang Valley & Selangor, there are Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and other smaller cities. Georgetown in Penang is also a suitable location for expatriates. In Borneo, Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and Kuching in Sarawak are also another two options.

      @@ExpatsEverywhereWonderful. Sorry to intrude. At the beginning of your project in Porto, I made a suggestion. But first, what is within the residential permit in Portugal, can you buy & own land and build a property on the purchased land. If you can, then, I'll go back to my suggestion. Find a suitable location of a land in Porto, build your own feasible residential property with your own blueprint & master plan together with several other mutual partnerships, it will definitely save your time & money. But then again, I guess it's better to fully focus on your current project. Again, sorry for this intrusion.

    @ExpatsEverywhere Thanks for featuring global options. I can attest that Nairobi and Buenos Aires would be excellent options for expats. I know some people are asking for more info (i.e., "safety"), but remember that safety can be subjective. For instance, as a mixed-race couple, my partner and I have to look at how we would be received, so safety as a racially mixed couple is at the forefront of our minds (putting countries in South America and Africa higher on our list). So, this list gets us started, but we still need to do our research.

    I wish I could rely on your sponsor italki, but living on the west coast of the US, I found that the usable time slots for my European Portuguese was too narrow and too competitive with other users. I've gone to more expensive private lessons for timing consistency. :(

    • @ExpatsEverywhere
      @ExpatsEverywhere  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Research. We used Numbeo for the aggregated data. We stuck to the numbers and tried to give a wide variety of options location wise. The numbers are for singles but obviously things like a 1 bedroom apartment can be shared where as the transportation budget is for 1. One major thing to note is that the dining out is for 2 as it's how it's worded on Numbeo. - Josh & Kalie

      @@ExpatsEverywhere Honestly, I don't think it's a great idea to recommend a place that you aren't personally familiar with. There's a lot more to a place than the numbers. Just my perspective. Enjoy your channel.
