I like that you always acclimate your mouth to the alcohol first. Luckily I didn't have to worry about that in my r&d since I switched up which went first and it was either to bartenders who had recently had alcohol or at whiskey shows where people definitely had already tasted liquor.
In my opinion no liquor is worth over 300.00 per bottle, much less 800.00. for me even 300.00 is pushing the limit. I was willing to pay 200.00 for a bottle of Tears of LLorona now that it is pushing 300.00 I refuse to buy it.

I share the same sentiment as I you. And if you think about it. The barrels come from Jack Daniel’s, I mean if it was something way more sophisticated maybe I’ll understand it, maybe… but c’on $800 that’s crazy, but I get it. It’s based towards the “aficionados” and people crazy enough that can afford it lol maybe when my palate develops a little more to when I can tell more about the characteristics and profile of the juice. Let's be honest 1 - 750ml bottle of el tequileno XA or a bottle of tears, rey sol and rare reposado? i'm not a collector btw. i drink what i buy.. p.s. for triple the price, i would hope it's better than tears.
