Every time one of your videos pops up in my feed my heart breaks a little more. I wish we knew what happened to you. You are SO missed. :(
Sacred Seed, your channel is one of the best!!!
I am buying the Meditations on the Tarot - Christian Hermeticism after this review. This video is interesting. Well done. Thank you for posting.
A warning on that one, the meditations on the tarot is definitely not for the casual reader. The wheels of your brain will start smoking after about 5-10 minuets from straining to comprehend all the compact heady wisdom and knowledge the author drops and you'll find yourself rereading many paragraphs quite often trying to "grok" what the author is saying. If you don't have a background esotericism and it's major historical streams and contributors, you could find yourself quite lost and even frustrated. But having said that, it no doubt gives you many rabbit holes to crawl down and explore which will increase your overall knowledge base and overall is worth the effort imo.
Valentine Tomberg wrote meditations on the tarot. Favorite book of pope John Paul II. He had it always close to him....

"sometimes you just gotta shuffle" I totally agree! I love your channel.
This is such a great video, Meditations on Tarot, & Tarot Revelations-both EXCELLENT books-I'm not sure I could do without either!
I actually found the "Meditations on the Tarot" in a private library at a Scottish Castle we were staying at in 2018. Thought twice about taking it with me but was very good left it in the wonderful library and bought my own copy when I got home to U.S Excellent book read it!!!! Great video here too!!!
Your enthusiasm for tarot is awesome! I'm really enjoying your videos and all of your wisdom is inspiring me to take a much deeper dive into tarot. xox
So glad you posted this, I always end up checking out 70% of what you recommend.
Much respect for your list.
Especially number two.
I would add Tarot card meanings and fundamentals, and book of tokens both by Paul Foster Case.Having said that I will definitely explore your recommendations.
WHAT!? I didn't know Joseph Campbell wrote about tarot!!!! ..... Pause.... Amazon.....
The Truth in Story yeah he writes specifically about the Marseille and compares it all to the writings of Dante, which was so popular at the time. really cool stuff! :)
I didn't either! Lol. How exciting.
I've just recently started dipping my toes into tarot and divination and I've been looking for something like Mystical Origins of the Tarot!! I'm really interested in the historical aspect of it so I'll definitely be reading that one and coming back to your esoteric recommendations once I've gotten more comfortable using the tarot myself!! Great and informative video! :)
I just found your channel, and this is the first video I watched. I just gotta say you're so cute and and I realy dig your sense of humor and overall vibe.
I've been doing readings and working with the Tarot for nearly 35 years now (seriously, my grandmother gave me my first deck and began going through the cards with me when I was just 4 years old!! It's been a long journey!!) I've been going through a lot of your videos this weekend, and I have to say - you have the most natural, friendly and easily accessible manner and way of explaining things for people who may range in experience with the Tarot from beginner to mid-user to people (like me) who may have been working with the cards for years. Unfortunately, a few people who make TH-cam videos about the cards do seem a little ''overinflated with their own sense of Ego (job for the Swords there!) and do let that get in the way of expressing themselves. You absolutely do not have that problem! You make it all so amiable, inclusive and FUN. Absolutely wonderful videos, and I look forward to more in the future! Oh - and anyone who has a '"Doctor Who'' ringtone just HAS to be one of the good guys! Much peace and joy to you, Colin.
OMG I wanted you to make a video like this, Than you!!!! i love understanding the tarot from an esoteric point of view and its relations with alchemy, spiritual paths and religons. Thanks!
Thank you for this. I keep forgetting that I have Tarot Revelations on my shelf in the basement just waiting for me. I have been using the Salis Spiritus Alchemical Oracle as, among other things, a way to become better acquainted with the alchemical process. I'm finding it to be a fascinating deck, though I haven't had it that long. So many books to read! Have a lovely rest of the week. Best wishes to you and your wife (and Artie 😉). 😊💕💕💕
Thank you! So many books added to my wish list 😉
Just want to say even though we have the same passion, view and love for tarot, magic, lets just say all that stuff. I notice while you have a thing for RW or RWS style or type decks, I'm more of a Thoth person, but I love esoteric decks and books and by far you are my fave person on youtube. Because of you I fell in love with the Mary El, Tabula Mundi, a good handful of decks and bookslike today you turned me on to because the passion and the way you sell it, lol. Anyways, just wanted to say I appreciate everything you do for us and you really should have your own show, lol. I would tune in every damn time.
If I go bankrupt buying all the amazing titles you've recommended, I officially blame you for inciting my inner Ravenclaw. I honestly don't remember the last time I came across lists so interesting I'd like to get all the titles on them.
Thank you for sharing all this with us.
The Cosmic Dance aww you're so sweet! thanks so much and lol sorry for inciting your inner ravenclaw- this is my new favorite quote tho lmao :) thanks so much for watching xoxo

Wow! I will need to check out ALL of these books. They all seem like they are jam packed with amazing information. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, have you read or have these two books, because they're really a great read and deep study books , ' Jung & Tarot, an archetypal journey by Sallie Nichols , the other is The book of symbols, reflections on archetypal images , by TASCHEN, ISBN-3-8365-1448-4 ' a 800 page book, & it's flipping great. The tarot meditation book I'm still reading it and marking like crazy, it's so really deep isn't it ! And I'm just about finishing, Complete guide to Tarot illuminati, what a brilliant book it is. So many books to read lol. And after seeing your video, I went on Amazon, and bought the Tarot of the Magician. So thanks for that tip.

Hello beautiful lady. Where are you? Your followers wonder what you have been up to. Sending you love and blessings.
Christine P. Towler had issued a second publishing of her deck, which some tarot collectors felt was on inferior card stock and not as nice as the first printing. I had read that her deck 3rd printing, was going to be a return to her initial style, with better stock etc.. Do you have any info, please?
An excellent reference video, THANK YOU!!!
clare5 one yeah I had heard that too- I believe benebell wen has both editions and reviews up for them on her site. not sure, but hers might even be a 3rd printing. (of the 2nd edition) good luck my friend :)
Thank you so much. I have'nt read Tarot of the Holy Light and I'm now on a mission.
I love your inner light, interlect, and lovely voice. Don't you just hate it when someone's voice makes your head fall off?
I like odd books like:
The Devil's Picture Book - Paul Huson 1971
The Magical Writing of Ithell Colquhoun - Steve Nichols 2007
Much Joy.
I'm enamored with the Tarot of the Holy Light. It IS quite in-depth, but in regards to expanding spiritual knowledge, this is one of my main favorites!

Just so you know...I blame you for all recent book purchases, and probably a few upcoming tarot purchases. Thanks a lot, Elle. ;) As an aside...what deck would you recommend for newbs to esotericism/hermeticism/etc.? Excepting Holy Light (I have it and do NOT understand it at all :/ and Thoth) I find I'm needing some more "meat" to my tarot.Thank you!
It turns out I own the last two books you mention - I guess it clearly shows what a history geek I am :D
Have got Tarot Revelations and The Holy Light Tarot app off Google play. Feel I need to go to some deeper mystical reading not sure if it's left hand or Indian or both what ever .
Dear Elle:
I am a reader from China, my English is not too good, if this video can be turned on the subtitle function, I can use the automatic translation function, thank you for your effort.
Important Thanks ....
The picture you show at 14:00 isn't an Alchemical image it's an illustration of Dame Fortune enthroned opposite Dame Wisdom.
Mati Klarwein is one of my favorite artists
Thanks for sharing! I didn't see that any of your favorite books contain information on the Grumpy Cat tarot...too bad. In my opinion, it's the most important and profound deck ever created. (I'm joking).
a few more books for me to look into - nice.
+Sacred Seed What other Joseph Campbell books do you recommend? I see a couple of his complete works are available on Amazon; however, there are many to choose from. Do you know which one is most beneficial to his entire life's' work?

Is there any way I can contact you for further correspondence? (i.e. email or Instagram, etc?) I dont know any serious Tarot practitioners in my area (other than a Columbia Uni professor) and I find you to be very interesting!
