  • 🎨 Mastering the Toaster - Drukhari Painting & Tactics! 🎨
    [Trello Link - Track my projects here! trello.com/b/d...]
    In this video, I’m diving deep into Drukhari gameplay-showing how to get that perfectly “golden-brown” performance on the tabletop. Think of them like a toaster: handle them correctly, and you’ll crisp up your enemies; handle them wrong, and you’re the one getting burnt. We’ll cover unit synergies, weapon loadouts, and the precise tactics needed to unleash the true potential of these sexy space pirates. Whether you’re a fresh recruit or a seasoned raider, there’s something here to sharpen your Drukhari edge!
    🖌️ What You’ll See in This Video:
    • A quick refresher on Drukhari painting basics-from basecoating to subtle drybrushes.
    • Insights into mixing and matching weapon options like shredders, haywire blasters, and splinter rifles.
    • Tactical breakdowns that show you how to use precise positioning, timing, and key stratagems to dominate the battlefield.
    • The “toaster analogy” explained-maximize your faction’s potential by choosing the right targets.
    💬 Why Watch?
    If you love the Drukhari’s twisted elegance or want to improve your win rate, this guide is for you. I’m all about learning through trial and error, embracing mistakes, and refining techniques along the way. Let’s enjoy this journey through the Dark City together.
    📌 What’s Next?
    Once these Drukhari are locked and loaded, I’ll explore the Haemonculi and other units down the line. Check out my Trello board to see what’s coming up, and feel free to drop suggestions in the comments.

    I’ve seen that there’s a new Detachment for the drukhari - I’ll post a short review later next week!

    Been playing Drukhari since 3rd Edition. They've always been a very surgical play style. Here's a few things I can say:
    Pluckee is totally correct in that you must put you units into the correct target or they will flop hard. This is why I prefer Dark Lances on my Scourges instead of Haywire to make them more effective into Monsters and Daemons but still very punchy into Vehicles. Always use their free 6" move to hide them after they fire their weapons, forgetting to do this can quickly cost you the game. Keeping a Chronos near the Scourges is very good to refund some of your precious pain tokens.
    The Incubi with an Archon in a Raider/Venom is horrifying to your opponent, as was explained. Skysplinter Detachment with Nightmare Shroud is a must to do this. However if your opponent is smart they will relentlessly target your transport that they are hiding in. This can snuff out your momentum in a bad way. They need a protection plan.
    Be careful of deep strikes and opposing reserves coming into your back line or side board edges. This will smoke your Scourges with ease, so screen heavily so your opponent can't make these moves on you. Luckily Drukhari armies tend to have a pretty big footprint on the table so this should be something you can accomplish.
    Wyches are pretty weak without Lilith leading them but can be a cheeky defensive unit into your opponents Heavy Melee Infantry. Their 4+ invulnerable save in combat makes them annoying to chop through for a cheap unit. Pair them with Lilith and they will delete large lighter infantry units.
    Wracks are also made to be annoying and slow down your opponents advance. They give you a pain token when the unit dies, so feel free to move them into the open to bodyblock enemy movement.
    With the number of special weapons Kabalite warriors can take, they can do some respectable damage for a basic troop unit. There's a stratagem that allows them to hop out of a transport and gain Sustained Hits on all their guns for that round. Can be punchy if they have an Archon with them, but you will often be starved for Command points and Pain tokens if you're playing Skysplinter Detachment.
    Reaver Jetbikes are a harass units. One of the fastest units in the whole game. You can do a number of creative things with them, they have won me games, but they're not excellent. Obviously they can snag objectives easily with their huge movement. A well placed Heat Lance can do some big damage on a hard target. They can charge to soak or deny a meaningful overwatch so another more powerful melee unit can make a big charge without losses. Their Fly-over Mortal wound ability can be fun. They will however usually die after they get to do their annoying thing for one turn.
    Hellions can smoke Space Marines but are very easy to kill themselves. I suggest using them for Rapid Ingress behind some terrain where they can't be targeted, then use their superior movement to then move and charge into a juicy target.
    Beast Packs are hard to get the models for, but they are incredible blocking units. Huge footprint on the board, a ton of wounds, and a big scout move at the beginning of the game. They can dive into your opponents mid board or even their deployment zone on turn 1 and really mess with their plan of attack as they have to deal with a chunk of interstellar zoo animals rampaging through their front line.
    Mandrakes are the real MVP for back line objective shenanigans and actions. Their "Uppie-Downie" ability means they can be where ever they need to be. Which is probably that objective that your opponent thought was sticky.
    Court of the Archon are very good but i don't own any, so i cannot comment on them specifically.
    The new Drukhari/Harlequin Detachment, Reapers Wager, seems to be getting some traction, Troupes and Solitaires seem to be the included units of choice, but I down own any Harlequins.
    Anyway... This got way longer than I was anticipating. Oops. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Drukhari are an intimidating army to wrap your head around, but I love the models, rewarding to play, and they always turn heads at gaming clubs because they're so unusual to see among the ocean of Space Marine players.
    Go forth and sow terror across the galaxy!

    Glad I found this channel. As someone who finds 40K a bit intimidating I would love to see more of these army review videos from you. Graphics or pictures to compare good and bad situations, positioning, etc would also be extremely helpful

    Nice video and editing. I don't think I've seen a review done like this that gives examples of strat combos and that, very informative well done.

    1: pain token (at least 1)
    2: cp (2)
    3: a raider at the rigth place at the right time
    4: nightmare shroud
    if that occurs, something of really high value will just evaporate, there is nearly no way to screw it up...but getting to this point can be really finicky

      Thank you! Yes, they do tend to get a bit squashed 😅😅

  • @ShadowOfLaw
    @ShadowOfLaw หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Dark Eldar are squishy and specialized, so that's why I always take a minimum 2 Talos to the pack. Talos can be highly dangerous to your opponent and can soak a lot of damage with Urien near.

      I deffo think talos'/Cronos' are next on the army build for them. I'm somewhat waiting to see what happens with the army list though.

    That Plz Stay moment got me ngl 😂 I've been making One Page Rules content for ages so I haven't had many games of 10th with any flavour of Aeldari, I am getting curious again though...

    • @dontthinkjustpaint
      @dontthinkjustpaint หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PluckeesChannel I love GDF because it's less time investment to just get your minis on the table and start blasting, but sometimes I do miss the unhinged combos you can make. I love Wyches and the idea of Lelith and a squad just blending anything they look at seems really fun lol. Perhaps one day we can do a little cross channel thing and you can take me through a 10th edition Drukhari beat down!

      It's Feathers McGraw, from video to comment!
      The hardest I have played with - although I think it's probably between these guys and the Genestealer Cults... I'll have to give them a go in the future and make another video about it...

    how Drukhari/Dark Eldar play?....dirty and with enjoyment :)

  • @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy
    @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Meh! Not so sure. I haven't played for 18 months but I watched a SM army win the roll for first turn, position with his armour and obliterate 2 Ravagers and 2 Raiders with horrendous consequences for the DE. The passengers on the Raiders were splattered with a follow up Bolt Rifles and they were very nearly tabled as the remaining unit managed to survive their moral role. Otherwise, with nothing on the table. the reserves would never have fought. I didn't want to watch the next turn because I didn't want to feel sorry for my dark cousins.
