My cute naruto theory: It takes place far in the future, and the nation's are at war. Let's say atomic warfare broke out and soon nearly the whole human race was exterminated. The plants, animals and such were exposed to great radiation and one day, this survivor ate an apple. He became terribly sick but recovered and discovered he could use the energy around him and within himself at his own will. He named this energy Chakra. He then went around the war, gathering survivors and passing the art of Chakra on to them. He then reproduced and had two sons (Whom naruto and Sasuke are reincarnations of) and that should line up pretty well with the story line. (Note* yes I understand that part of this has already been confirmed, I just gave you my take on it...)

Kami Nana Yes. In all of them, your surroundings look different and the stage resembles the aftermath of a mass destruction. In the 3D fighting types games, rocky formations and trees can also be destroyed (if I remember correctly).
The Storm games feel very plain in comparison because there is little-to-zero "stuff" within the area. Even the 2D fighting type Ultimate Ninja games have interact things within the fighting stage.

Being based on something and actually doing it are different things. At no point ever in the series did a basic rasengan, or any variant of it such as big ball or ultra big ball, create an explosion that large. Even the barrage he didn't against kurama didn't produce an explosion and that was at least several hundred sage powered ultra big ball rasengans.
You can say all you want him flying suddenly was pulled out of his ass. Even the characters admitted it in panel when I read it last year. Yes its a game but it could try to be at least a little faithful to the manga/anime. As I said this is a show about ninjas not planet busting aliens.
