Day late and dollar short. High winds and grass fire. Yes thanks to the fire fighters it was kept away from most homes. I suspect any of the places where there was not houses they probably just let it burn. Better to just get rid of that vegetation. There are basically no trees on those hills so the fire wasn’t leaping from tree to tree which is much harder for these guys to fight. Good job firefighters.
We are getting unusual heavy rains for this time of year in Portland, Oregon. Was coming down hard last night. Maybe they missed the target by 600 miles.

They have already doubled home owner insurance. Out side my house there is 3 1/2 foot dry weeds within 20 feet of my house, in the middle of the weeds is burn piles that the fire chief says he's not worried about. There is at least 9 piles within the area.. He yelled at me for asking him to have it removed like he promised for the last year. Shasta Lake City, California
Homeowners are given plenty of notice and reminders to clear brush from around their properties....they just don't do it. Maybe its time the state issues monetary fines to those who fail to comply. Their lack of co-operation, serves only to fuel the wildfires....they are part of the problem.
