Colt Starting: Teaching Collection PART 1

Showing you how I am teaching Collection to my 3 year old filly, Chobit! There are many SLOW steps in this process, and one of the first things I do is groundwork by "Bitting Up" the horse. In this video, I will show you exactly how and why I do this!
This is a fantastic tool but ONLY when done CORRECTLY. You should never over-bit the horse (tie them around too tight), rush the horse into this, OR use anything other than a super soft, smooth snaffle. NO SHANKS ALLOWED!!! The point of this entire thing is to teach the horse to willingly and softly accept contact with the bit, and can ONLY be achieved with a smooth D or O Ring snaffle.
