Very very low expectations. The 2021 movie was a bitter sad disappointment, totally inferior to the iconic beloved '90s original film.

Cage should have been casted by a younger actor we already know Johnny Cage is a pretty boy Hollywood style for him to be an older version is pretty lame dude and Cole young is a made up character which is also lame. It seems like the directors made him the star of the franchise which obviously was supposed to be lui kang I was disappointed from the first movie big time I have a feeling the second one is gonna be too

They should do a full-fledged Anime adaptation of MK and it should be faithful to the franchise lore as much as possible.

That would be the absolute worst thing since Guile replaced Ryu as the main character in the infamous '90s Street Fighter movie AND the Resident Evil movies sidelining the likes of Leon, Jill, Chris & Claire in favor of Milla Jovavich's generic non-RE character who failed so dam hard to try to be the next Sarah Conner, Ellen Ripley or Lara Croft.

@@Q2k7 Literal Plot Armor Guy ruined the movie for the overwhelming majority of fans I think it's safe to say. But MK 2021 had a ton of other issues & awful creative decisions as well in addition to Cole.
Tbh the 95 movie isn’t great it’s just the best of the MK movies so it shouldn’t be hard for this movie to top it.

Mortal Kombat Legends Scorpion’s Revenge and Battle of the Realms should’ve been made for theaters instead of direct to dvd/video.

It wasn’t perfect but I didnt hate it so Im willing to give it a second chance as they kept saying they listened a lot of the fan criticism and learned from their mistakes for this one. So who knows! It could be worse or it could actually be really good! But I think it’s worth giving it a second chance since this is the movie with the actual tournament this time around!
@@thearthurmarston9897completely agreed. The first movie was odd a bit but it was super enjoyable for me. Besides the whole Cole plot the “Mortal Kombat” stuff is so fun and entertaining. The fights, the costumes, etc just so cool.

I know right. Nobody gives a crap about a character who has nothing to do with MK & whose big power is actual plot armor, LMAO. Everyone knows that it's Liu Kang who is the hero of MK but if they want to use a different character as the protagonist for a new MK movie than there's plenty of good options like Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero, etc. Nobody wants to see all these iconic characters sidelined in favor of an original badly-written non-canon poser which is exactly what happened with the infamous Resident Evil film series💩
Dude I like Uncaged but he's completely nuts to think that Cole is a good character or that MK 2021 was a satisfactory movie. Maximilian Dood gave a way more accurate way more spot-on review of MK 2021 than Uncaged did.
@@DragonHeart613yeah, nothing against the actors in the 2021 movie (Lewis Tan included), but that movie is an absolute dumpster fire, and the Cole character is only one of many really bad things about that movie. Again, nothing against the actors, who were just playing the hand they were dealt.
@r4umediaentertainment831 I got nothing against Lewis Tan who is a legit talented Martial Artist who I've seen in other stuff like Into The Badlands & Wu Assassins but his character just plain sucks & has no business being in an MK movie, let alone replacing actual MK characters like Liu Kang as the main character.

@@DragonHeart613 Such a missed opportunity not casting Lewis Tan as Kenshi instead of that nothing-burger Cole Young character. He'd be a good fit for that role and as an added bonus, Kenshi is a beloved character who actually exists in the canon.

7:26 = What we actually wanna hear is that the sequel either sidelines Non-MK character for most of the movie or they simply kill him off. Literal Plot Armor Guy was such a weak generic boring character who had no business being made the protagonist over any of the actual MK characters that we all know & love.
MK 2021 was such a colossal disappointment of a movie. The story was weak, the fight scenes were just okay, characters weren't given much depth and some failed to even resemble their video game inspirations in terms of personality & motivation (Raiden being a prime example), the lore was largely ignored in MK 2021 (Outworld characters entering Earthrealm BEFORE the tournament, Goro killed again BEFORE the tournament of which he's the frickin' reigning champ, The Elder Gods not enforcing the rules of MK, Scorpion needing help to duel Sub-Zero??? WTF??? & those are just the ones at the top of my head) and lastly the headscrathing decision to appoint a character who has nothing to do with MK as the film's protagonist & his special power is Literal Plot Armor😵💫
So yeah, seriously low expectations for the sequel after such a bitter disappointment that MK 2021 was. I've been an MK fan since day 1 when the very first game hit arcades and have played every game since. I love MK but these new movies are just ain't it. The OG MK movie with Christopher Lambert, Robin Shou & Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa is still the undisputed best ever MK adaptation period and the WB Animation DVD movies are pretty cool as well, both of these infinitely way more faithful to the spirit & lore of MK than these new movies are.

Cage, you needed to be in this movie. They should have gone with the script whereby a shop assistant "you" get pulled into the MK realm. This opens the movie up for other worldly events "Insane beyond believe special effects based on MK lore" Ed Boon, get Cage a role in MK, next game or movie, make it happen for the real fans.

ITS BEEN TOO LONG ! By far If this is all confirmation I love the direction it’s going and even if the movies is Mainly about Johnny and kitana and characters are side lined it gives them a chance to still have their moment in other future project/films I can’t wait !

In MK 2021, I actually like Cole young. His powers are badass. I remember first watching it and was excited to see what he can do and he doesn’t just get his ass kicked in the beginning, he throws the fight because that’s what he is paid to do. Anyways, I don’t like how kharacters like Nitara and Reptile and Reiko look dumb and weak but the deaths are kool. I expect the same in MK||. I’ll like some things and I won’t but I’m just happy for another sequel. I forgot what post I said this on but I said Johnny Cage would steal the show and I’m so happy that I’m right. Damn I wanna watch it now!!!

Thats just one reviewers thoughts. From what I hear, he is not a credible source. Probably just trying to freak out us fans and hide what really happened, so that we are blown away when the film finally drops. Heres hoping. I for one enjoyed the 1st film. The only thing that urked me, was Cole killing Goro. I cannot wait for 2. Psyched to see this version of Shao Kahn on the big screen.
