My preference is to see really strong Catholic content, and prefer the Catholic interviews. It’s easy enough to tune into Protestant podcasts and find this content. Would obviously love a Duggar interview if they were asking questions, even debating the Faith.

@@midwifemichelleI have always prayed the Duggar family would be introduced to the Catholic faith. I am grateful to Lila Rose for interviewing Jinger. Lila is a respectful interviewer, skillful, professional, focused on gently allowing the guest to portray her most thoughtful responses to show the guest’s best advantage. She is deeply compassionate towards her guest. I pray some members of the Duggar family would find true spiritual depth and fulfillment in the Catholic faith. They have been exploited in every way. Lila allows her guests to express their true selves while gently planting new insights into their minds. In this case, relating to becoming an adult, wife, and mother and helping her seek for greater depth. The cult the Duggars were raised in seems to have a superficial veneer of Christianity that has been described as coercive towards women. Exploring the Catholic faith would open up vast dimensions of faith that would help them develop their full humanity that they may have been deprived of experiencing. Authenticity and depth rather than “fake reality.” Even Jesus modeled the need for privacy as He developed all aspects of His full human life and divinity. Such as thirty or forty days in solitude in the desert, often slipping away to pray all night, the Transfiguration, the night in the Garden of Gethsamane, even Holy Saturday when He took a day to descend to the private world of the deceased to release them. The compassion of the Holy Spirit would probably be a huge comfort and bring revelation in her private prayer time. The sacramental life would also open her to deeper dimensions of grace

I also grew up going to a Bill Gothard church (IBLP) but was able to experience true freedom in Christ in my early 20s and ended up converting to Catholicism. Now, something I am super passionate about is not living in fear based legalism which is unfortunately something I am seeing in a lot of trad Catholics that is so similar to what I experienced in the IBLP. My favorite quote since becoming Catholic is “virtue lies in the middle”. Loved Jingers book! 🥰

@@candiced4826 sure! In the IBLP, the “outside” world is viewed as scary and there is a lot of us vs them mentality. Also, doing good things like dressing modestly or not letting kids do or watch certain things is done out of fear and like Jinger talked about, if you do these things, your kids will turn out. It’s something I’ve observed in some catholic communities and I’ve talked to Catholics who were raised that way and they have alot of the same negative experiences that people raised in Protestant fundamentalist cultures have.

This feels reminiscent of the Gospel teaching from this past Sunday! Thank you for introducing me to that saying. I agree many trad catholics are fundamentalist in nature, but I believe that the vast majority of them are not fundamentalists. I get the sense that the loudest ones in the media are the most fundamentalist, and they kind of drown out the less fundamentalist trads. This is sad, and I hope to contribute soon to developing an outlet for exploring traditional catholicism while staying grounded in real catholic theology. Please pray for me, most especially for the rejection of my pride.

Wow this resonated with me. I grew up Protestant fundamentalist of different shades. We did a lot of church shopping but I think we must’ve been influenced by Bill Gothard at least for a time because SO much o this sounds familiar. I was 5 or 6 when my parents took my Cabbage Patch doll from me and destroyed it. They said something about a curse and it was related to a certificate that allegedly came with the doll that said you have to love it “with all your heart.” And you should only love God with all your heart (that was the logic behind it I guess)… I remember being confused and scared . And music with drums welcoming demons into your life; yeah that sounds familiar to me too. That dynamic of the passive wife sounds really familiar too. So messed up.

If you did anything wrong, that's all you were known as. There was no redemption and forgiveness. I think you need to define your term fundamentalism more specifically. This would be my argument for Trent Horn as well and his recent episode on fundamentalism. So many aspects of what both Trent Horn and Lila Rose believe could be defined as fundamentalism: confession at least so many times a year, Holy Days of Obligation, no artificial birth control methods used…etc. Some “fundamentalism” must be good or no one would follow any Christian laws. The distinction needs to be what is good “fundamentalism” and what is bad “fundamentalism.” In addition, there is probably an another area-a grey area-of what is acceptable according to that specific family’s desires to live a Christ -like life. I’m seeing this concept of fundamentalism come up with many Christian influencers lately and only in a negative context. While generally good to speak to those beliefs that are taking a Christian law too far or missing the nuances found through situational analysis, it could definitely be used to erase God’s eternal truths too, if not narrowly defined.
Here is my quick working definition that is probably wonky too: when you can’t separate out the spirit of the law from the letter of the law without losing doctrinal truth, that is good fundamentalism and when you can separate out the spirit of the law from the letter of the law but chose to affirm it as the letter of the law, that is bad fundamentalism. Of course, I will keep praying out it. My gut says, we need a more nuanced definitions here.

      @mrs.b3902 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@carolinpurayidom4570 I agree. But what makes a teaching core? Why is the core teaching not fundamentalism? Is fundamentalism situational? Extreme? There has to be a tighter, more nuanced definition put out or even Jesus’ own teachings could be cast aside as “fundamentalism.” I’m not saying fundamentalism in regards to some things Ginger mentions is good, but I am saying that the elemental bases of a religious belief system are fundamental to it, and therefore, we must be careful when using this word in a general manner without defining it carefully.

@@Charity-vm4bt Thank you for your comment. I know how they were using the word. My specific critique is it is a word that is very fluid; it’s not a narrowly focused word, so it could be used right back at any denomination. What was once traditional can become labeled fundamentalism very easily. So, it’s a term i wouldn’t use or I would make a very clear distinction on why something is fundamentalism.

This is not the first time I've seen her do interviews about this topic. I've seen her on several different podcasts over the time since the Amazon series about her family and Bill Gothard came out. Every time I feel like people are expecting to hear about the cult and the brainwashing but it's a big nothing Burger because she seems extremely supportive of her parents and how they handled everything yet is rejecting Gothard.. does she not see that her parents are the reason that she was involved with those dangerous teachings? Of course she does but she doesn't want to talk about that and she simply goes on these to promote her book

It's because she's an actual Christian. She's working on forgiving her parents or she may have already forgiven them. She realizes her parents had good intentions. They had her best interest at heart. She wanted to get to the root of the actual problem. The root was those horrible, heretical teachings of Gothard. That's why.

@jessicalee3546 I think you are down playing what Bill Gothard was actually guilty of and what that meant for what she grew up with and seeing as how there has been no responsibility taken by her parents or accountability at all in the slightest it seems strange that she would come on a show like this and not be more honest about what we all know.. she may as well be liberal media

Is it really “fundamentalist” if it’s actually a bunch of stuff being ADDED to the fundamentals? Was Jesus more of a fundamentalist than the Pharisees or the other way around?

Apparently Lila Rose hasn't listened to Jeremy Vuolo's opinions of Catholics in his sermons when they were in Laredo?

@@sallysue8176 she revealed and touched on way more personal things during this podcast. Jinger has expressed publicly that as part of this new journey and rediscovery of her faith, she is now benefiting from the birth control pill. Surely Lila knows this, and Lila IS a Pro-life advocate after all.

The Catholic church is not strong enough on Biblical principles, but it emphasizes ritual. I know, for I've been born and raised Catholic.

DALLAS John McArthur church where they attend is worse than calvinist. More of a freemason. They go to his church I read in comments. Pray for them.

grace to stop the catholic apostasy. catholics have a false gospel of works plus faith. God commands all to repent of their sins and believe on Jesus Christ for salvation. A false Jesus will not save. A gospel of works will not save. God's word says ,"you have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love." Galations 5:4-6. One must believe on Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Not the damning false gospel of catholicism.
please, repent of the false gospel of self-works mingled with the finished work of Christ on the cross. He said, "It is finished." He died once and is not offered up again and again in the blaphenous mass.
God's word says ,"And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." Hebrews 10:11-14
Please turn from your sins and look to Jesus. He was offered for the forgiveness of sins for all who will look to Him alone. He will not be of benefit to you at all if you trust Him plus your works. You will be severed and go to hell. Why perish in hell? Turn to Jesus and live.
