On the one hand, the film looks absolutely dire. But on the other, it looks like great documentation of a moment and place in time. If I ever do watch the full film it'll be because I want to see 1962-era Seattle.
I was born in 1963 and grew up in Seattle, so. Yep! there is a personal attachment to this movie, and great to see all those landmark places with childhood memories. How many weekends me and my Bro/Sis spent walking around that fountain and playing hide & seek at the flag pavilion. And of course the Space Needle, especially the elevator ride, and then the Monorail. Such great memories. Thanks Elvis (RIP) for documenting this moment in some of our lives. Bonus points if you noticed Snake Plissken kicked his leg.
this was Kurt Russell's film debut, with the King of Rock N' Roll (who later played "Elvis" (a TV movie, in 1979), 16 years later; if not, Jack Burton ("Big Trouble in Little China" (1986).
I love this movie! One of my favorites of his. I'm from a small town in southern Washington, and I learned that Elvis drove through my hometown to get to Seattle. He even stayed in a small podunk hotel a few miles up the freeway from my hometown. This was 1963, the year my mom was born, but hey - it's still an exciting fact.
Yep, my Dad also came to 1962 Seattle to scout it as a place for us (wife & 3 kids) to live. The following year we drove our VW minivan across the USA from Cape Cod (Massachusetts) to Seattle where my dad became a professor of Oceanography at the "U-Dub" (University of Washington). Aged five I watched the Calypso dock at the U's arboretum and got to meet it's captain, Msr. Jacques Cousteau. What heros - him and my awesome Dad!
I'm from Bremerton. I was a baby when the movie was made. My parents took the ferry over and went to the fair. I have a beer mug with a whistle in the handle and the Space Needle on it. My first job was at Metropolitan Federal Savings and Loan which is in the scene where he arrives in downtown Seattle. I also later worked in the building adjoining the Westin Hotel (the round hotel, renamed from when Elvis stayed there during filming) which was added in the 1980's. When familiar surroundings are in a movie, it holds a special interest.
So hard to believe that It happened at the worlds fair was so long ago I was 10 yrs old and my sister took me to the cinema to see it we sang all the songs on the way home being only 10 my favourite songs were How would you like to be and Cotton candy man 💖love from Denise in England 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😍😍👑👑👑👑💖👋XX
Oh such a beautiful wonderful Elvis 🕺 I just rented this movie 🍿 and loved it . I think Charro was a very good movie . He should’ve made more films like this one . Good acting and it was one the first movies he made , before he went to the army there is another good one but I can’t remember the name . I also like Fun in Acapulco , love his singing and dancing there like bossanova and he even sings in Spanish Guadalajara oh he sounds so cute ❤️🙏🕺🇲🇽🇺🇸🎤🌹❤️
E o garotinho que chuta a canela do Elvis Presley é nada mais nada menos que Kurt Russell que veio interpreta-lo no filme “Elvis” em 1979. Coisas da vida.
According to plot Elvis and his sidekick loose their plane to poker debts and head to Seattle to find work. Yet, right at the beginning of the movie the owner of the field they had just crop dusted had offered them a job. Doesn't matter to me, I love the movie.
Even though I do enjoy this movie but only because it's set in SEATTLE, Elvis is a PILOT who eventually gets employed by NASA.....the movie would be so much more enjoyable if that annoying asian kid was replaced with a cheeky character like the shin-kicker (played by Kurt Russell). It would've given the going-nowhere story line some energy.

He is very handsome in this film. The clothes are very smart.

Damn kurt russell is just a kid in this movie
Me gustan sus películas..quien decía que era un mal actor...era est upendo interpretando...y muy divertido y cariñoso..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Alguien sabe dónde puedo ver la película completa?🥺
1:14 THAT Gary Lockwood? Who played Gary Mitchell in the second Star Trek pilot and was in "2001: A Space Odyssey"? I would kill for half his career
Where can I see the movie? :C
❤️👑🎤😢🎸
Where I can see the movie?
I don't know 🙁🙁
Not his best movie, but its fun to see a young Kurt Russell and to look at Seattle in it's pre Amazon days. Lord, I hate how they ruined this city.
Do you mean Kurt Cobain?
@@cameronpernock9337 No. The kid is Kurt Russell and yes Amazon has ruin everything.
Where can I watch this?
this was the year priscilla turned 18
I wander if rest of cast knows Elvis is out there
Elvis's films were still good in 1963 but later on they would decline as the scripts later were poor (though the songs were usually good)
I love Elvis but not this movie
Bend
I like this movie😄😄😄
Yah he is in mach X programme Armadillo Spacey Empire records bull ride with minigun$ Dana back to Henna Guns?!

The Worlds Fair looks great!!! Everyone is white!!!
Dire film🤮
Not an especially awful film. Just utterly mediocre from start to finish coupled with an instantly forgettable soundtrack.
