I can’t imagine a man moving in after 3 months, being unfaithful, treating my children poorly while not helping financially, and still having access to my home, babies, or life. He was literally just a warm body that took up space and stressed that household out. It’s one thing to sacrifice my sanity, but I’m not sacrificing my children’s sanity.

Given the age of these two, they're probably living with the same thought process that a woman is not complete unless she has a man. Some cultures still raise their daughters to believe this. Also, she may have grown up without her father and doesn't want that for her children. Black women in particular are made to believe that their is something wrong with us if we don't have a man. We will tell the next woman, "At least I have a man..." while that man is the worst human being on the planet. So we'll take any old ragedy man to prove there is nothing wrong with us. It is very sad. But we're just now coming out of the patriarchal society that tells women they need a man. Think about this - it was less than 40 years ago that the last bank allowed a woman to have a bank account without a man. Until that last bank cut that rule, even into the 80s, women could not have their own back account without a man (in some states).
