    Everyday I realise my African ancestors were never dumb or "not civilised" like my generation thinks due to modernisation. Our ancestors who used plantain leaves and other natural method to preserve or store food items or is it the mud pots used to cook or store water. They didn't have to worry about unhealthy storage materials or cooking pots. They were wiser , very eco aware and very eco friendly. But because we are looking for "scientific" evidence see where we are

      @@Speedyvampir2 Actually, I think it is a bit of both - they were somewhat aware; and that was what they had available... Plus I like to add that they were somewhat *CONTENT.*
      When you do a bit of critical anthropology, you'd realise;
      1. _The Negroid race began civilisation earlier than the Caucasian._
      2. _When Homo sapiens migrated to the northern hemisphere, they found a very harsh terrain - for one, it was extremely cold. Their supposedly rapid development / industrialisation was due to inadequate natural resources (as compared to Africa); which consequently led to more conflicts and wars. And wars have been known to serve as catalysts for development._
      3. _The reason colonialists _*_stole_*_ our artifacts, was to prevent us from connecting with the groundwork of our ancestors._
      4. _This disconnection well orchestrated in 3 above, galvanised the process of brainwashing us into believing that we and our methods were inferior;_
      5. _They further forcefed us the ideology that we did not have to invent or innovate anything; we just needed to take whatever they invented, while we supplied the raw materials._
      Ergo! Now we're talking plastic... 🤷‍♂️

      Our ancestors commanded us to live in nature and we did until these capitalist economic parasites invaded our continent and chanted our way of live. It’s not too late for us to retrace our step and become kinder to nature again.

    Mostly most products we use comes in plastic cintainers or bags. It is so dificult to avoid using plastics. Manufacturers force us to use plastics. Inmany places plastic bags are now banned. I take my own bags to the stores. I also try to only use glass as food storage containers. I dont use plastic cups and plastic plates. Hi there. My questions for you and your team's food of thought, Femi Joshua, are:
    1. Before eating seafoods/ land animals that consume them, people thoroughly wash the seafoods/ other meats from land animals that consume plastics indirectly via cutting open and removing all dirts and then cleaning with salt further, so doesn't that mean any plastic/s consumed by the sea species is/are removed and hence not eaten by consumers? Even for land animals that consume
    2. The sea species that do eat plastics dumped into the bodies of various waters, don't they die immediately? (Even the land animals that consume plastics indirectly). So dead meats cannot be eaten as I want to believe people know that they will fall ill, or have you or your team encountered people who have eaten such without knowledge of them fallen ill due to that?
    3. What will happen to plastics if left for other options such as glass, papers?
    Recall that glass is heavy and breakable, so reason why people don't use that option often nowadays, and prefer plastic which is light in weight, to put their products in and easily carry them in bulk without fear of breakage nor tiredness from lifting them daily.
    Recall that papers such as brown paper bags are tearable and can get wet and damage products placed inside in seconds, hence why people don't like paper bags even if it's eco friendly and still prefer plastics that are functional for packages.
    I ask these questions as I want to help you and your team by redirecting your good research to rather focus on how plastics can be used to make items that are not used for consumption purposes such as plastic plates, cups, spoons,forks and knives as if it touches heat ,it's chemical reaction formed is very toxic, and that's one way researches have proven cancer is gotten.
    Also to think along the line of what other new plastic item/s can be made, that cannot be burnt too so that very toxic chemical is not produced into the air as people can still inhale it hence another way people get illness as serious as cancer or sickness if not regularly in the air, but just crushed only when plastics get old and sent to recycling factories, where new ways of recycling them won't cause very toxic chemicals into the air that can also be another way of making people get cancer .
    Then most importantly to think of interesting creative ways of how to educate and encourage people not to throw plastic/s no matter the sizes into bodies of waters such as streams, lakes, rivers, seas and oceans due to the consequences of sea species dying and people starving to death from no food if that's what they have available to them only and also people's source of income lost.
