I always seemed to get the one that said "Quarterback sacked, ten yards back, FUMBLE!!!!" That is burned into my brain forever.

Got this for Christmas in 1978; I wish I still had it. I still have my ABC Monday Night Football game I got for Christmas in 74. The one with Roger Staubach on the box

I got this for Christmas in 1978. Played it consistantly until the late 80s. As of the mid 90s I still had it.

The great Dick Enberg of NBC fame doing play-by-play. And when it's complete that's the BEST scoreboard of ANY football game I ever owned.
Good to hear the old discs. Had most of those play calls memorized I played this so much back in the 70s. Cheers!

I've heard it's extremely rare if not impossible to find one of these that still sounds as good as it did new, the stylus that runs in the record groove gets dulled whenever a records is put in backwards which im sure has happened to the vast majority one of these.

A great game that little kids could play easily as soon it came out of the box. I was hopelessly addicted to the "Gadget Plays" record on offense, and my older brother would blitz the heck out of me. I can still hear that "End Around ... SEVEN YARD LOSS" play call in my dreams.

this was a two player game....one player was on offense and selected the play, inserted the record, and then handed the orange record player to his opponent.... once the offensive play was selected and inserted into the player, one could not see the "name of the play" it was down far enough in the player that you could not see it........then the defensive player rotated the back side of the record to select the defensive play and pushed the record down to hear the play unfold...then you used the board to track movement and keep score....my brother made me play this with him all the time.....

The prices are all over the board on eBay, you can find a complete copy there for probably $20 and up. With eBay, it takes research and time to find the best deal. Plus there were a few variations based on the year.

I missed my chance on this game. I was going to record all of the little records, but at this time we made the video, then sold the item. That is how we started :) One day we will find it again... We have had requests for the inventory view :)

Dude, those discs are mini-records. Handle them carefully!BTW, I had an original Instant Replay player around 1971 when I was about 6 years old. In 1980, a friend gave me his Talking Football game. Lots of fun. I wish I'd never lost track of either item.

I have all the pieces but my record player doesn't work. You are lucky because most of these games have defective record players. If I can get it repaired I will be in business. I played this as a kid. Lots of fun times.

Yes, there are many ways to improve on the technology, but we've reached a point where there are much better football games. The charm of this game is the way it was implemented using the technology that was available at the time.
