It's actually starting to be pretty impressive how he keeps managing to find only useless items.
It makes finding the useful items feel so much better.

They removed some of the Ten Arrows stuff from the LTTP randomizer and added Super Missiles and Missiles, hehe.
There are about 75 Super Missiles? If not more. I recommedn you to watch the Super Beard Bros series as well. :)

@@Pixelmusement Not really, he's about halfway there, the game was modded to have 30 more Supers and 30 less regular missiles
Items Jared can currently collect:
Light World: 2 (items he's been to and missed)
Dark World: 1
Brinstar: 2
Crateria: 3 (minus a few he's chosen not to get)
Wrecked Ship: ~5 (I may have missed him getting one or two)
Maridia: 7 (minus a couple he's chosen not to get)
Just needs to get to the right areas in Maridia and hopefully he can progress. Of course there could be something important with the witch and mini moldorm cave still.

I'm also trying to keep track of missed locations, what's the third Crateria location?

He decided to skip gauntlet left drop item and the Crateria shaft super missile location was just 50 rupees so that's skipped too.

I just checked, he got that in video 8, just after the 23 minute mark. It was a heart piece.
I love how efficient Jared is. Like when he farms some enemies for energy after beating the boss instead of just recharging it right next to the save point.
It wasn't a complete waste of time. He refilled his weapons too

I'm surprised that by now, you haven't made a list of every treasure spot in Zelda, so you had something to look at instead of going off of memory and forgetting it's existence until you're in that room.
That's considered the baby cheaty route, apparently. Jared believes we'd rather see him struggle for 15 episodes.
Also it's really not Zelda he needs to worry about (although he really should go back into the Witch's Hut and talk to the Moldorm Cave guy). He still has a number of spots in Metroid to check, the real problem is he's not familiar enough with the game to know to check them, or even how to get into them.

@@novau115 Yup, I had to learn to do the Shinesparks in a good way when I did it the 1st time, I'm thinking of playing another seed of this soon, I even had to learn to do stuff like the "mockball" trick to get an item in Brinstar that you should have the speed booster, it's interesting to say the least the EXP I got.

That's the thing with the randomizers: Since every optional item location could contain a mandatory item you need to know every item location in those randomized games. Or in the case of this randomizer you need to know every location of 2 games.
Since I don't have that knowledge I have no shame in admitting that I used maps for both games whenever I got stuck just to check if there are item locations I missed. I honestly predict Jared will at one point either have to consult one of those maps or give up because one crucial item is hidden in a place he doesn't know exists

I think the reason I like the randomizers so much isn't because of the despair we're seeing now, but the immense payoff that'll come when Jared finally catches a break and gets an unique item

I know you're probably already done with recording the series, so next time you do one of these please have one of the resource maps on hand so you can know what you've checked and what you can check with your current gear. It helps for these things big time. I love this series and I love watching these, but mitigating the frustration will only help next time.
Or use a tracker like emotracker. Really helpful for newbies in this randomness.

Okay. Jared... seriously... return to your ship. With the Space Jump, you can access a path in the upper right of that map. There should be an item in there. All you need is a power bomb to open the door (if memory serves).
After that, your best bet is to search Brinstar and the Wrecked Ship, then work your way back to Maridia and see if you can find some stuff.
Also, at this point, it might be a decent idea to get a map of Super Metroid off the internet - there are so many secrets, that it might be difficult to find them all on your own.
Not 100% positive on this, but, assuming he's on Normal Metroid difficulty (which, please, Jared, considering how rusty you are on Super Metroid, I hope you did), I'm pretty sure that room is considered part of the "Gauntlet" and therefore excluded from progression in the randomizer.
Gauntlet is up and to the left of the ship. The item in the upper right is something else
@@ninjastadragon I know that's the main Gauntlet, but I think the right side is also considered part of the Gauntlet because it's a very similar room (hot, rising acid, spikes and shit).

I love that the "Anguirus Roar" is so prevalent in media. Draygon uses it here, as does the Wyvern boss in King of Dragons.

I personally think Jared should do the randomizers in Twitch. Something that'll let him get advise from people when stuck, but at the same time, when the advise turns out to lead to 10 arrows, gives him the chance to tell that person right away that they suck.

I'll be honest, I don't think I've seen Draygon killed like that in so long. Kinda refreshing actually.
I'll be honest my first time fighting Draygon I didn't realize you could wiggle free from her grapple so I used the grapple beam trick I learned from watching speedrunners play the game
I had to kill him that way in my randomizer seed. First time I had done it in a while too.
If you want it easier, you use a power bomb everytime the spitting starts. Then you can missile down without any issues.
You can also kill him with a couple shine sparks.

Thanks to you, my friend tried a randomiser run. The mirror was the last thing he required. Yeah that turned into a solid, where have I forgot thing. In the end after the last spot in Norfair he had forgotten was not it, he shot in pure rage. Incidentally hitting a block, and there it sat the mirror, in a spot he never knew about before. So we feel your pain, we felt your pain.
Nothing new today so I figured I might as well format the list better.
I think I'm going to post and edit this list each upload to try and keep track of item locations that are missed.
Locations will be of areas that Jared has been to but skipped for one reason or another. So I won't list locations he hasn't been to somewhat limit spoilers. Btw Jared, I'm having a great time watching this!

Things he still needs to get; The thief in the moldworm cave with the four chests and the witch's hut. Like so he knows and I can stop going insane.
Jared should seriously use an item tracker for these randomizers. Even speed runners use them so that they're not floundering about trying to find what they need.
The backwards-L shaped room you mention at 18:38 is the Turtle Room. You enter from the Turtle Room's LEFT. Through an invisible wall next to a red space pirate. It has TWO ITEMS in it. The first item is high up in the middle of the room, and an item is hidden in the right wall, somewhere in the middle of the room. You'll have to bomb for it.
Super Missiles is gonna be the ten arrows of this series.
The only one you disappoint is yourself, because we're all having way too much fun!

That item isn't randomized unfortunately. It is always power bombs due to the items needed to get it.
Knowing his luck, he might get Screw Attack - Awesome, but useless in terms of actual progression.

Hype cave had mail upgrade, nothing of note. Moldorm cave guy though is pretty high priority at this point, probably has 10 arrows which Jared really needs.

I like how he was checking the sand pits and getting it wrong and as soon as he got to the one he actually could go down to get some items he just ignores them.

I found out what happened with the armor. Apparently the way the randomizer works, it has several places where an "armor" can be. Each armor isn't in a specific place, but there are about 4 places where an armor upgrade can be. Say that, for example, there are four chests. Each one of them has an "armor upgrade" item. They don't have a specific color, just an item that the game recognizes as the next piece of armor. The first chest, no matter which of the 4 you pick, will have the blue armor. The next one will always be red, then the other two will be converted into rupee chests. The specific armor isn't in a specific location. That's why the blue armor from before turned into red armor, because you found another "armor upgrade" location. The swords work the same way I believe. Please like this so Jared can see.
I"m not sure if there's really 2 extra armor that you can never use in the seed, that'd be cool if it's the case.. but with all the races i seen, it seems rather unlikely.
Anybody else get super anxious when Jared doesn't have full health or doesn't bother to get healed even if he's only a little low?

Ahhh the effects of randomized games
Draygon was always the hardest boss in the game for me growing up. He just gets so fast, and trying to hit him while dodging damage was tough, especially with all those turrets firing off that I didn't know you could destroy. And while I knew he had a weakness to the Grapple Beam, I had no idea how to actually utilize it. I had just heard it was a thing, tried hitting him with it a few times, then gave up when nothing happened.
If you're really stuck about where to go, you could try going through the game as though it were a normal playthrough? You might end up finding a few chests that you didn't realise you could access.
He sounds so defeated at the start of the episode. ...me too Jared... Me too. XD
Well no shit he was caught cheating on his wife and failed to silence her because there was so much incriminating evidence against him. His manipulative tactics failed, but dont worry there are so many soulless puppets who will sympathize with the person who was the one who cheated on her and then tried to make it seem like she was in the wrong.
I find it disgusting that there are people who will actually defend someone who is clearly in the wrong. To all the people who are defending him your are just as a participant as he is because even after it's been made a aware of what he was doing u still defend and sympathize with him. It's like ur dismissing what he has done to his wife. If anyone deserves sympathy it would be his wife and not the person who not only cheated on his wife but attempted to hide it.

Go back to Norfair. Recharge your health, and go back to the room where you normally get the speed boost - upper right corner of the map. There are a LOT of dots to collect. One of them might be the varia suit, so face the heated areas one by one until yo find it or another item that helps you make progress.

Jared, you forgot to get the item from the Witch. You HAD Ice Rod. Go back and into the hut and you will have an item waiting for you. Which is either going to be mirror, fire rod or boots.
This reminds me of stumbling around Super Metroid till I found out you could blow up the glass tube hallways, but now the breakthrough is randomized into the world
In Metroid. You missed a hidden item at the start. If you go to the first wall to the right of the ship it is directly above that if you super jump or whatever it is called.

People who go through Randomized games without some sort of tracker to help them along are super brave to me. I can't do anything without a tracker, otherwise I'd end up checking areas multiple times because I forgot I was already there.
I guess maybe it's seen as "cheating" so some like to stray away from it, but maybe it should be used as a backup if one is having a lot of trouble finding progression items?

Has Jared been to the area in Death Mountain where there's like 7 chests yet? I can't remember, but I'm sure you guys know the area I'm talking about. I'm enjoying this series and decided to watch Jared's ALttP randomizer as well, and in that, he was struggling to make progress at one point until he found that area in Death Mountain. IIRC it had the Hookshot and Titan's Mitt in his ALttP randomizer. If he hasn't been there yet in this randomizer, he really needs to I'd bet

@@karelfinn2343 Ah okay. He found the Hookshot there in his ALttP randomizer, so he must have gotten to that area using the Mirror then I'm guessing. I know he's missing a lot of other stuff in both games, but I remembered that area being a big turning point for him in his ALttP randomizer, so that's what made me think of it for here
