Lovely tour, a true testament to nesting. I remember that feeling when I was expecting my kids and I have woven it into my seasonal cycle ever since, but I now call it my “wintering”, yes I purge, I organize but I also allow myself to light candles, simmer potpourri, read, reflect and even nap. I only miss my walks, sorry walking on a tread mill or at the mall does nothing for my soul. 😢 Luckily I have two dogs who insist on going outside. You do so much Linda, it’s nice to see you slow down that engine and meander through your own “wintering” Much love from zone 7A.

I like the change of sudden quiet outside when there is enough snow. Lovely tour Linda. I too like to shop from my own home and make little changes, especially in January or February. My mom would have been 107 this January, my dad 106 this April. 😃

Thank you for the tour of your home in winter along with projects. My chaos at the time we have been going through our parents photos. We have piles distributed to family members and they can do with what they choose. It is a chore we have put off going through family photos, but needed to be done. Some very old photos without names or years were simply just tossed into recycling. I had very mixed emotions during this task to which many nights dreams were so scattered with people who’ve passed on. Although it brought back lovely memories too. 😊💖
Beautiful cottage tour during the snow. It will reach here overnight in the south. I've dried roses before and had better luck with them than other flowers. What a striking resemblance you have with your beautiful mother! My mom and my grandmother were my best friends.
I live in the low AZ desert now. But I remember those kinds of days when I lived in New York! What I miss most was when my part of the state was all asleep and there was already a blanket of snow on the ground. I would go out and just take in the quiet. But when I listened, I could hear the snow falling. It would make a sound like the tinkling of tiny crystals falling! Everything seemed at peace at the time!
I love your more casual walk about in the cottage. I may have to take a trip to Lowes to check out ferns. The two geraniums I brought in from patio are doing well and one is blooming so that is so sweet. I, too, enjoy rearranging my spaces in my condo. Enjoy your week.❄

I used our snowy North Texas days to change from my Christmas decor to a warm spring theme, too chilly for pastels. I love picking a new accent color, yellow this year, to keep things fresh and brighten my mood. Like you, I shop my own house, hit the thrift store and break out my paints to stay on budget. It’s so much fun to watch my granddaughter incorporate the tips in her decorating. As my mom would say, “My girl can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” Thanks for helping us stay cozy and joyful.
Yes I'm in an "organizational frenzy" too in my kitchen drawers 😂. Also made 3 bean soup, hey great minds etc.... 😅🎉❤ i challenge you to say my surname 😅. keep warm, snow here too in Devon. 🏴 x

I arrange my roses, with the expectation of a dry rose arrangement then I hang them up side down, tie with jute, hang in a window,or across a fireplace or my antique 1700 Victorian Murphy bed..love January ❤
