  • In January this year, Flair surprised the Canadian aviation industry with the news that they'd be adding 13 new Boeing 737 MAXs to their fleet!
On June 10th, 2021, they operated their inaugural 737 MAX flight, a cross-country hop from Edmonton to Toronto, and they went all out to celebrate the occasion!
Also, my very first video in 4K! Hope you all enjoy :)

Great to see a relatively new Canadian airline getting off to a good start with new aircraft. Quite a feat I would say under all the limitations and uncertainties of these Covid dominated times. Wish them well and look forward to trying them out myself in Canadian skies soon. Good luck and fly safe Flair.

Flair started YVR-SFO flights just over a month ago, and since they had cheap fares at the time I booked them (and scrolling down their Twitter, they run a *lot* of sales and promos not unlike what I used) for a summer weekend in Vancouver which didn't necessitate a larger bag for the overhead bin. Then I typed "Flair Airlines" into the TH-cam searchbox and found this to get an idea of what to expect, which was pretty enjoyable to watch.
Even with the cost of a carry-on bag they're still far cheaper than Air Canada, United, or WestJet, especially with insane summer pricing a mere month in advance. I also chose seat 4A not unlike the engine view perspective in the video since the seat selection fee was surprisingly cheap especially for a seat up front. Even their extra legroom seats peak at $36 to select and a United flight I have from SEA in a couple months wants $79 for a Economy Plus seat in an A319 which I found hilarious.
The outbound SFO-YVR flight was uneventful (departure was delayed a half hour, but SFO was kinda notorious for slow turns even pre-pandemic and before the understaffing, but we arrived on-time) while the return was delayed 7 hours from a crewing issue and using the crew originally rostered for the BUR flight later that day, which was cancelled to operate YVR-SFO. Shortstaffing leading to delayed or cancelled flights is hardly exclusive to LCCs like Flair right now, and whenever I'd check, Flair undercuts competitors by half or more, so I'd try them again despite the issues, or despite the delays I see on their YEG and YVR flights when they come to SFO.
