about the fish: the 22 are the base game fish. the fish that doesn't count as base game and doesn't have an icon you can get when you buy the red candy land fishbowl and stock it. the +6 is how many of the fish you have caught that aren't base game.

Hey James, I'm doing the Super Sim Challenge too (inspired by you :)) and I have a couple tips for you on other places to find the red-tailed shark. If you don't have any luck at the pond in Willow Creek, try the pond in Sylvan Glade. That's where I got mine using a perch. They can also be found at the same place you caught the Piranha in Oasis Springs and the pier by the steamboat in Magnolia Promenade. Good luck! :) Also, as has been said by others, you have to let Max sleep in the tent for 6+ hrs. until he wakes up on his own. If you cancel the sleep action, it doesn't count. Plus, you don't have to be off your lot, it works at home too. That's where my Sim completed the goal. :)
You can't cancel the tent interaction and wake him up - he has to just sleep till it ends for it to count on a home lot - I believe you can cancel it after 6 hours if you are at granite falls - it's always been a little wonky.
Fyi, the gardener will plant for you if you place the plants out near your current garden before they come for their next shift. Also you have to let him wake up on his own for the sleeping in tent thing to count.
Maybe you've already realised this but your baking skill goes up faster if you bake using the fridge and not the cupcake machine. Just because a while ago you were complaining about it going up so slow, it's because the baking process literally only takes a second with the cupcake machine and with the fridge you have more time to improve your skill. Love this series James, best one you've ever made!! PS: I'm a piranha, they're in the amazon :D

The +6 fish are the 5 outdoor retreat ones, + the skeleton fish. You *do* only have one fish left to get; the unmarked fish is the gummy fish from the Halloween update. It's just an extra thing, and it doesn't count :P

I think that your sleeping in the tent didn't work because he was up before 6 am and the night in the sims ends at 6... so try and sleep longer, maybe that will help...
Whenever you have the kids through the family aspiration, one of them should become the Second-Rate Sim Challenge eventually, where you try to make him gain as much money as you can without gaining any skill points at all.

Hey James, just throwing this possibility into the air about sleeping for 5 nights. I think you have to let the sim completely sleep. You shouldn't end the task early or queue anything. Just let Max sleep it through until he wakes up on his own. Figured this might work considering MC Command woke him up and then you woke him up. But for night three, he woke up on his own. Give it a try, yeah? c:
Please sort out your inventory and/or get a room to place all your frogs and insects and stuff on tables or podiums, the mess is really messing with my OCD!!!
You don't have to take a vacation day to miss work because you have the trait that means you can't get demoted or fired ( can't remember what it's called) so skipping work won't affect your performance xxx
Use the incense burner to help give you stronger moodlet ! The meditation seats and massage chair and tables should give u more ways to increase ur wellness skill !
For future reference: Harvesting from plants counts towards the '25 collectibles'-goal, so just harvesting everything in your garden is a really quick and easy way to reach that goal. This works really well even if you only have a small garden too, since every plant gives several collectibles 😄
when i was baking in my game i noticed that the sweets that actually need the ingredients make your baking skill go up way faster for example: sweet potato pie (needs potato) though you need potato but your skill will go up faster
I don't think there is a specified amount of time they have to sleep in the tent in order for it to count as a whole night. I'm pretty sure you just have to let the sim sleep until they wake up on their own, instead of cancelling the action because that wakes them up. I hope that made sense.

I never tried it so I can't tell for sure, but maybe try to keep Max's sleep schedule normal, like make him fall asleep at like 11 and wake up at about 6? No wonder the "full night" didn't count if he got up at 2:00 am.
Finally decided to start doing my own Super Sim Challenge! I never use the Sims to its full potential, so this was a great way to do that. Unfortunately, I had to turn off aging because everyone at the restaurant I had another Sim make in that save game kept dying!
I see Max has gotten to the point where he's willing to pay people to be his friend. Again, word must be getting out about his personality. XD (It will continually amuse me that Max is technically a "good" Sim. . .) But oh man, you were screwed over by that tent thing! D: I would be so frustrated in your position too. . .I hope the comments are right and next episode we see you conquer your five nights at last. Would be nice to complete that and finally get Never Weary. . .and holy hell, that garden. O.O Even my gardening-loving Victor would balk at a patch that size. You've got a freaking farm going on there. Wow. Wonder how long it lasts. XD

Make him get married and have kids with the maid so you can complete the family aspiration. Also the maid and max look good together!

If you are cool with the exploits, buy a Whispering wishing well and wish for skills. Sometimes the well will max out a skill for you.
I'm pretty sure he said earlier on that he didn't want to use the wishing well, and considered it cheating.

the plus 6 in the collection menu is the number of non-base game fish you have already caught, not how many you have to catch.

Beside you have to sleep for at least 6 hours, you should let him wake up himself - don't cancel the sleep (in the tent) - for it to be counted.
