I don’t think you need to keep giving the same disclaimers in so many of your videos about how you don’t drink that much, can wear casual clothes to work, etc. Lots of people who’ve watched you for so long already know. Also just live your life, girl! Don’t feel like you need to justify everything you do xo
I love these week in my life videos - they are so relaxing and it's nice to see a TH-camr enjoying the small things in life and taking time over it. I really enjoy the coffee shots, the grocery hauls and city because that's real life and I found that chat about hustle culture refreshing - not enough of that on YT in my opinion. It can actually be a bit stressful to watch TH-camrs running from one event to another and constantly 'hustling' and then it makes you question whether you should be 'hustling' and it's an endless cycle of 'hustle' 😂
Yes, we have definitely noticed your vlogs are longer. I personally love the longer vlogs (15-25 minutes). They are good to watch when getting ready for work or cleaning around the house. I like how you are starting to vlog, even if a little bit more, outside of the home and work. Your vlogs are entertaining :) and don't worry, it's okay to 'grab a drink' with a friend. We all know by now you are not a drinker, sometimes a margarita is just plain good.
i'm not much of a religious person, but I really love the way that you share your faith. I can be turned off by people taking a judgy or preachy approach to religion, but with you, it's more about how it grounds you and brings strength and stability to your life. it's such a refreshing and insightful take!
Michelle, I appreciate you! Hearing you talk about slowing down and not basing your worth on your accomplishments is a fantastic reminder. You seem like a very grounded, level-headed person, staying positive but keeping it real, and I think that's rare on TH-cam.
Loved your rant about hustle culture and trying to be content! I'm so inspired to hear you talk about your journey toward contentment and appreciating what you have.
I love your rant at around 8:00! I completely identify and agree. You rarely see TH-cam videos talking about doing for others or loving others. We should to be building each other up, loving each other and being there for one another. That is why we are here on earth 🌍❤️🙏🏻✨
Only person who makes the most calming videos! Also thank you for the book recommendation and your rants that are so helpful! It’s clear that God is working through you ❤️
Anyone else open the video and immediately like it? I always love watching the weekly videos while I meal prep on sundays. I love the real-ness, Michelle. Have a great week!
Girl it’s totally good to be “normal,” sometimes we get so caught up in the idea of living an idyllic life when in reality no one actually is. Love that you show your normal and you should have no regret for being 100% you. 💕
About the phone dying while it was cold outside; I've had the same while cycling to work/university when it was around -4 degrees Celsius (around 25 F) I think it might be a standard mechanism when the phone gets too cold or too hot! Also, I love seeing your productive work weeks, it makes me look forward to finishing my degree and start working :)
hey Michelle, I just wanted to know your opinion on drinking. I noticed that whenever u have a causal glass or wine or you do things involving drinking you often justify yourself. I know you said drinking isn’t bad (it isn’t) but just wondering if you feel a sense of guilt or something that could cause you to justify drinking?? I hope this didn’t come off abrasive but I didn’t know how to word this hahaha
Jenia Thompson actually, drinking IS bad. Of course doing it in moderation is “ok” in the sense that it won’t destroy your body or life but it is still bad for you. Just like eating junk food once in a while is “ok” but it is still bad for your body. It doesn’t mean we are bad people for doing it, we all do things we know are not the best for us sometimes, but it needs to be clear that it IS bad.
It has do with religion, don't do what you know is bad for yourself, and how intoxication has bad effect on your mind (you're not as sharp) and body (hard on the liver, and increase the risk of general cancer according to the World Health Organization).
@@truelion92 Eating junk food is also bad for our bodies but people usually don’t react like “WOW u eat McDonald’s” like how they would have with alcohol. There is always a sense of moral bad attached to alcohol. We have a word for consuming too much alcohol but we don’t have a word to describe consuming too much ice cream 😂 I think as a Christian I’m called to be a good steward to everything God gives me including my body. Obviously no one does it perfectly and we all stumble, and that’s where for me the grace of my God comes in and I know he doesn’t love me by my performance.
Please share more about the hustle book!! And YES to focusing on others more! Thank you for being such a light in the TH-cam community! God is definitely using you 💕
Hey Michelle, I love your videos and, as another Christian 20 something-year-old woman, I generally feel as though we have similar beliefs/outlooks on life. That said, I have noticed that you tend to talk at length about your feelings on drinking alcohol & doing drugs. While I respect you for staying very true to yourself and your convictions, sometimes I feel that the way you make many of those same "disclaimers" over and over again can come across as judgmental and even unkind. I think that there are ways that you can stay true to yourself and your convictions on this platform without excluding or dismissing those who live and think differently. I do not mean to be malicious or rude in any way by commenting this; like I said, I really love your content and your message. Just wanted to offer a piece of constructive criticism!
laxrl45 I more get the feeling she is justifying herself because so much of her audience is Christian, including me, and many Christians don’t drink. But I agree, she doesn’t always need to include the disclaimers 😊
You are truly such a wonderful human, the world is a better place because of your energy and character! I look forward to watching every video you post😊
Love your videos girl, you always add depth by talking about what you are thinking and reflecting on. I get so excited when you post because you are so relatable and encouraging. Keep being the light that you are!!!
Love your videos Michelle! Also, you don't need to keep explaining yourself with drinking...no one is thinking twice about it but you! I'm the same way where I usually only have maybe 1 or 2 drinks if I'm going to have alcohol.
Hello! Are you able to insert somewhere on the screen or in the description the places you visit in the city? I would love to check some of them out. ✨✨
I really want to read the book you brought up before called "to hell with the hustle." we seriously live in a culture where it seems that if you are not hustling, you are considered "lazy." this is SO not true! your productivity/work does not equal your worth. thanks for shedding light on this topic! 💖💖💖
I need that book in my life. I’m going to be a little negative here...I really dislike the environment in the work force these days. Overtime is constantly expected from salaried employees. Businesses and organizations promote a “do whatever it takes to get it done” mentality which leads to stress, burnout and anxiety. People are constantly putting family friends and their personal lives on the back burner. You’re always talking about hustle culture and I very much appreciate it. I would love to say hell with hustle but I find it very hard to apply that in the society we live in.
That's how I feel about hustle culture too. Sure, it would be great if we didn't have to work as hard as we do and could prioritize friends and family, but there are economic realities we can't get around. We all need a job to pay our bills, and sometimes a side job or two as well. I don't think that most people like hustling or being busy all the time but that's kind of what's required today.
i started listening to the "to hell with the hustle" audiobook bc michelle recommended n michelle knows whats good SO im only 1/4 of the way through but its so powerful and something everyone should hear even if u arent religious/faithful !!! im super gay and studying psychology & women's studies at college and ... honestly couldnt tell u the last time i listened to something a white cis man said before this book BUT its imperative to challenge your beliefs in order to be able to listen to others and grow as a human. so def give it a listen friends & thanks michelle for recommending !!!
I enjoy your videos and your walk of faith in your life. I don’t care that your music may be a bit loud or how many times you talk about your work dress code or why you limit your alcohol consumption. What I do care about is your sincerity, your honest opinions and your determination. I am closer to 70 than 60 but find your snippets of life to be endearing and filled with valuable lessons - even for someone who has been there an done that. Keep doing what you do.
I hope you know I love your videos and look forward to them every week! I love watching them while getting ready in the morning☺️ always look forward to them
I’ve watched TH-cam videos for a while but never subscribe to channels, BUT after this “week in my life” I am officially subscribing to yours! You’re doing a great job Michelle💗💗
Michelle, I love you and your content. You truly inspire me and you help me with you being a pleasant, simplistic, grateful and yes, you made so much sense when you spoke about the book. Hope you and yours Thanksgiving was blessed and peaceful!! ♥️😇🙏
Such a breath of fresh air when it comes to hustle culture. I just listened to a podcast on this with Jennie Allen and John Mark Comer. They talked about an overwhelmed life on a practical level and a heart level (ie practicing Sabbath) It was SO eye opening!
Hi Michelle, what are your thoughts on the replica perfume? I’ve been thinking about getting one of their perfumes but I’m unsure on the longevity of the smell!
Loveeee your videos! I wanted to know if you’d be able to write in the description the cafes that are shown in your videos. I live in NYC and always looking for cute cafes. Thanks!
I loved so much about this video. I love the message about anti-hustle culture and be able to rest and love people well. That's so important. The world puts such an emphasis on striving and don't get me wrong, it's good to have goals and get things done, but it is not your identity. Also just wanted to speak some truth about you, you are beautiful with or without a tan, your nails done, or a summer body. You are treasured and valued by Jesus and seen as more beautiful than pearls. I never comment on videos but just wanted to say what was on my heart when I watched this. You are such a role model! :)
Hi Michelle! Just wanted to say hi and that if your thinking of going out of the US again soon that u should come to Canada! Come to Toronto as that's where I'm from and its also a really cool and big city like NYC. I love your vids and thank u for being u (real & honest with us). :)
Just wondering, why do you feel like you have to explain when talking about alcohol, you're an adult you are the only person who should care about if or how much you decide to drink. I just find it very strange, it seems like you are scared what people think when you say you're getting a drink. I mean is that really the culture in the states in some places like I'm scandinavian so maybe things are just different here. But that aside I really love these work week in my ife videos!!
DarkGlacies I know, I’m English and we have a drinking culture. I’m not saying that’s a good thing, but to NOT have a glass or three of wine on a regular basis is considered strange! No need to justify it here!
Agreed! When i lived in Atlanta for a couple of years, my co workers and friends who were religious were against drinking, so I wonder if it has something to do with her religion? I am not sure. But definitely love her channel and vlogs. She is a very kind person!
A lot of christians like to preface that they don't drink often. i think its pretty common especially on youtube among the christian vloggers i've watched. Milena Ciciotti does the same thing

Domi Zatkova ^^yes!! JMC has a new book too called the ruthless elimination of hurry- so good.
What a great video 💗💗💗 love it
There are a lot of Korean skincare places in Houston actually!
Another great book about slowing down is The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer! So so good!

Are you doing vlogmas?

Hey Michelle, love your videos, so motivating. Curious to know how old you are, you seem so mature ❤️
I am just curious what kind of church or religion do you practice. Like Methodist, Lutheran etc. Or just non denominational?
If your phone die because of cold weather just charge it with powerbank and it will turn on back.
Why did the music get so loud?!!
Can you do a week of work outfits video?
The music was wayyyyyy too loud couldn’t hear you !! 😩
Xoxo
I don't think in similar lines to you regarding investing in people. But I still love your channel. Hope that is okay.
I love you ❤️

Do you ever just say no to the events? I feel like you need to turn these down since the long days are really impacting you.

Have you really not yet made the connection between coffee and your anxiety/ sleep
