These are great RC’s. Easy to build, if you put a good 21 t motor and a speed pinion in them possibly oil filled shocks and they run good. Grayson built one a year or so ago and it was his first build. They’re slow stock but still fun.
It is not a bad kit at all. On the stock friction shocks it is a bit bouncy and some oil dampers with softer springs help smooth it out a lot! It builds easily and quickly and no having to paint the body is kind of nice.
Thanks Addam, I do feel like it’s going so much quicker than my grasshopper 2 did. I think I’ll get oil dampers at some point as it has the more powerful motor so I think it will be my more performance based hopper series buggy
Good to know! I think it might have a higher ride height that helps with some of the handling? I’m not sure but I know my super hornet growing up had a 13 turn double motor in it when I stopped modifying it, boy was it fast
Yeah I’m kind of strange but I want to get all variations of the hoppers at some point. GH with a silver can, Hornet or Hornet Evo with a torque tuned my gh2 has a sport tuned and then this with the super stock..idk why but I just feel like it would be cool to have similar cars which different levels of Tamiya motors in them
Yeah I was going to say I think it’s just the spoiler is different, I had a super hornet growing up so it brings back memories but I don’t remember all of the details on it
I was looking at that kit for my younger brother, but decided to pull the trigger on the new Hornet EVO for him. Excited to see this thing in action!
Thanks, I think if the hornet Evo was out when I received this I would have asked for the Evo too so I can certainly understand that

I can’t wait to have it up and running! The build does seem to be very easy so far

Looks good John! With that motor it should be powerful enough. But it should be a fun build!
Thanks Freddy! I need to finish it up but it’s been a great build so far
Side notes, I think they handle better than a hopper or hornet and the chrome flame stickers are cool

Oh and it is a super hornet body
