- 10 Reasons Europeans Hate Living in The United States. It isn't just one or two countries in Europe, it is the map of Europe in this video.
Since the 1700s Europeans have been coming to the Americas en masse. That is starting to slow down. Why is that you ask? Well in this video we are going to find out. I ran a survey asking foreigners to the US, if would they want to live in the United States if they said “no” there was a follow-up question of why. I list 50 different things that are most commonly talked about as negative to the United States.
So, today we look at the reason Europeans won’t move to the USA

The reasons why Europeans used to come here really don't exist any more. Ireland isn't starving. Refugees wandering from country to country due to the devastation of a world war has not happened since 1945. If you live in a safe place, have a job and can spend time with family without worrying about going bankrupt if you get sick, why leave?

Immigration from Europe came to a trickle a century ago. Your assessment applies to western and Northern Europe, but it didn’t apply to Eastern Europe and Italy until after WWII. Not a lot of people really directly immigrated from France, Spain, or Portugal, at any point in history.

Had a family member move back to Ireland to retire for the first time 3 years ago. Just remember the US is VERY LARGE, you can find all kinds of places here without leaving the country. Depending on where you live it may be very easy to feel at home...if you want it to. 👌
High crime, high health costs, high auto expenses, long commutes, unsafe public transportation, long stressful work hours, high college costs, high home prices, high job insecurity, high personal debt, high childcare expenses, are not anyone's idea of living a "Dream".

I'm from the US and took a trip to Europe recently, I love the architecture and how they don't pump their foods with preservatives and dyes.
Do they have parking spots in Europe? Do you have more than an inch clearance on either side of your subcompact as you drive down city streets?

Briggs since you asked about the foreign banking thing, the U.S. is one of only a few countries (I think Eritrea is the other) that tax citizens who live overseas on their global income. As a result, foreign banks have to abide by IRS regulations on accounts owned by Americans. Some foreign banks are of the opinion that it's easier to disallow accounts owned by Americans than it is to comply with IRS regulations, seeing as how the bank is not even located in the U.S.

Although college costs are far lower in Europe, in most countries they have strict testing requirements that most students here couldn’t pass due to America’s crappy k-12 education system.
The European system is designed to fail you out as soon as possible and move you to a vocation track. Fewer Europeans going to university is the downside, but American education inflation is another problem this creates. A bachelors isn't worth much anymore. Americans wouldn't stand a chance in Europe's very rigorous college entrance exams or the rigor of a 10th grade high school class. And American schools have zero discipline nowadays, which is becoming a global problem. Sad but true. Americans spend more on education and yet have the worst (or among the worst) educational outcomes in the industrialized world. Americans don't look for information on their own and expect to be spoon fed it or get it from TV. Europeans know better than to do this. You have to teach yourself in this life.

Years ago, a legal immigrant from Brazil(then a foreign languages teacher, with a bachelor's in foreign languages and one in elementary education, both from the University of Tennessee in Memphis), told me that free college in her country was limited to the best students. If a high school graduate wants to go to college, he has to take a tough college entry exam called the vestibular. This exam is very difficult and complicated, and covers a wide range of subjects. Some students can pass the vestibular on their first try, while others have to take it several times in order to pass it.
I like watching Lost In the Pond, where Laurence gives all the differences between the two countries - The US and England. He loves living in Chicago, btw.

In Polish schools they study a few foreign languages. And English is one of them… how many foreign languages do you learn in high school?

@@sos61In the defense of Americans, our country is pretty much the size of the entirety of Europe. We’re essentially 50 countries (New Jersey is physically larger than a bunch of countries). With the sheer size of our nation and the cultural diversity, one could say we’re too preoccupied with learning our own culture.

Work life balance and isolation are the reasons to leave UnitedStates in my experience. I used to love it here and not anymore. I do not like the way Americans enjoy life, it is way better in other countries. I feel invisible, i ‘m a foreigner, I have the citizenship and now with so many changes in this Nation I want to live abroad.

I think the US is a great country. But there are 3 big reasons why not many Europeans move to the US:
1) It’s almost impossible to get a visa for residency
2) The US has a worldwide tax system (as opposed to the primarily territorial tax systems in Europe) and
3) The high level of violence and gun crime
Violence and gun crime are a media creation. People in the U.S. are not likely to experience gun crime over their entire lives, even once. 90% of the gun crime is in failed democrat-run cities.

Having lived on four continents in six countries and on an island, now in Europe for 32 years, I agree with this assessment and quite frankly, I have no desire to return or visit the US again. I felt like an alien traveling by car from Alberta to Montana in how I was being treated at the border the first time I vacationed with my family there some 19 years ago. Never again. After 31 years in Europe, I have finally become a EU citizen last year.

It is very, very true about the issue of banking services overseas. Congress passed FACTA a few years back to try to catch Americans who were hiding money abroad. The end result was that many, many banks throughout the world refuse to work with Americans, even Americans who aren't rich. When I lived overseas, my personal banker told me that I shouldn't say anything about being an American because if the higher ups at the bank find out about it they'd close my account. They hate dealing with Americans and it's a serious problem for Americans who want to live outside the USA.

What I find interesting is that Europeans genuinely don't understand how BIG the US actually is. I once worked with a guy, he was from Paris for a temporary work stay. One Friday, I asked him what he was going to this weekend. He said he'd always wanted to see the sun set over Key West. I blinked. I told him it was at least a 6 hr drive from where we were, so he'd have to stay the night, and wait until the next evening for sunset, then drive back on Sunday. He blinked. I showed him a map, and he finally understood. I don't think he ever went. 😁
I agree with this. I’ve met quite a few people from Europe who were completely blown away when they came here and finally understood the size of our country.
Agree. And it is this reason that make Europeans I find to be so much more open minded. They can visit other cultures and they learn other languages whereas most Americans never venture beyond North America, have any reason to learn another language.. Most other countries accept others as they are with the customs in that country. The different cultures are not good or bad but I found Americans are critical because it didn't meet the "American standard or protocol", forgetting it is a culture.
Hopefully he also understood why we like our cars so much after looking at that map.

It makes me curious what is going on in European schools. I mean, US public schools are a joke but every American kid gets to see a world map in at least one classroom, every year. Do Euro schools just leave the Americas out of their geography classes?
Lived in Brussels, Belgium for 15 months back in the 1980's. Never really needed a car. I could get from my house to downtown without issue; buses every 15 minutes. All of the downtown old city was walking distance, but there was still a metro system. Covering the same distance in San Jose California took me 2 hours and three busses.

As other comments said, the reason why they don’t move to the US or other “new world” countries anymore is because Europe is no longer the troubled continent ravaged by war, famine, ethnic conflicts, and dictatorships that it once was. In recent decades it’s been people from Latin America and Asia who had to leave their homelands to go to the U.S. for similar reasons that Europeans used to 70+ years ago

As a native Californian that has lived half of my life outside of the state, I have practically no desire to go back. I think Europe has lost that same desire and are very comfortable in what they have designed post war. They have very little need to be here.
what they, and the U.S., have designed post-war. Europe largely has outsourced defense to the U.S. and focused on welfare programs. That's great and all but that situation will be changing in the coming decades. Most of Europe has a GDP lower that the U.S. southern states. Europe is just not globally competitive as they only seek to regulate but not create. Their defense spending will have to increase. The salad days are winding down.

American here. My friend traveled to Italy on vacation and twisted her ankle in Venice. They transported her to hospital by boat and treated her. When she asked for the bill they laughed at her. It was FREE. I've been to Italy three times and am thinking about retiring there.

Surprised cost living isn’t in there. I know there are a few expensive places in Europe but for me I found groceries to be around 2-3 times more expensive than what I would pay here.
Why is that such a surprise? Europe has far more people per square mile than American...Supply and demand dictate price, except for NASA.

I retired and live in Thailand. The amount of paperwork a Thai bank has to do to accept an American customer is mind blowing. It is fairly common for banks to refuse American customers.
The transportation system in Bangkok is WAY better than anyplace in the US.
The healthcare system throughout Thailand is also cheaper, much more accessible, and provides care from western trained doctors. My Thai health insurance is a little cheaper than my US policy cost.
I am so glad to have put the political and cultural climate in the US with 8,000 miles in the rear view mirror. Thailand has its politics but, as a retired expat, it has little effect on me.
Immigration - if you are over 50 it is easy to legally live long term in Thailand. There are some financial requirements so that may or may not be an issue. Navigating the immigration process can be a challenge but it is doable for anyone who doesn’t forget their brain at home.
There is a language barrier. No getting around that. I have to give the Europeans a 👍 for their English proficiency.
There are guns in Thailand but nothing like the American gun culture. As far as overall crime goes - the is the safest place I have ever lived, city and country.

Free time is True. I Visited Vienna and on the Weekends, most stores and Restaurants were closed due to the fact the government Prioritize time with family.
I just wish everyone wouldn't choose the same day and the same hours for their free time.
And yet many Euro countries have cratering birth rate demographics which will greatly impact the utopian welfare decades they have had since WW2.
Hmm these match a lot of my concerns about the USA. I had a manager that came from Hungary to the US - the company promoted him and transferred his family to the USA. He expressed a lot of the same things. He also did not understand why the government regulated personal lives so much but didn't regulate and invest in big things better like electricity and transportation. He didn't understand how a bad thunderstorm in Atlanta (where he was based) could take out the electricity for several hours and why traffic was so terrible and there wasn't more infrastructure to help with that. He loved some things too, and he was surprised by many of the same things as expressed here.
To be fair, especially in the Atlanta area, it's grown so much that it's straining the power grid. Some parts of Atlanta have grown so much that it's like tripled in growth in 30 years.
Maybe you could point out the shear size of the power grid and the distances from the power generation to consumption points. You can't really compare a nation the size of Indiana and the population of New Jersey with the United States. You construct things very differently when you are dealing with scales that are that much different.
When I was a young man (retired now) I used to periodically read articles in the paper how the French were critical of America and our race problems and relations. Guess who has national race riots now? Answer: France. They’re learning the hard way good race relations are a lot harder than they thought. Same goes for Sweden.
And as Europe’s Middle Eastern and African migrant population rises watch their crime and poverty rates go up dramatically too. It’s already beginning to show.
Sweden is the best example of what America has experienced for decades. You cannot import the poorest and least skilled people from ANY country, then expect them to be settled in as doctors and lawyers within a generation. Exceptions exist, like my immigrant wife, but she herself often complains about the low standards the government has set.
European countries are destroying themselves by letting all those migrants in. When push comes to shove, the leaders of those countries will move somewhere else, and leave the citizens to battle it out. Too many of our world leaders are proving to be the lowest life forms of all.

The funny thing is that the overwhelming majority of violent crime takes place in big cities that are very expensive to live in. Take big cities such as LA, New Orleans, Chicago, NYC, Detroit, and Baltimore out of the equation and America becomes one of the safest countries in the world, even though the overwhelming majority of firearms are in the areas left when the cities are removed.

The thing about Americans being denied bank accounts in some countries is true. The Treasury imposes reporting requirements on any bank that lets a U.S. passport holder open an account in a local country must report it to the U.S. Teeasury, even if it’s a Thai Bhat account in Thailand. Fail to comply and we will fine them

I've lived in other countries for the past two decades, and now that I've moved back, I find it extremely boring. People are either in their homes, their offices, or their cars. One of the first things my daughter asked was where the people were. In about three years, I will move away again.

As someone who has traveled and lived all over the world, I agree completely. No interest in moving overseas but their knowledge of us is far greater than ours of them. Even though we live with these things it's hard for those from the "outside" to overlook them. Healthcare costs and gun violence are insane. Mostly because we don't do anything about it. Doesn't change my love and appreciation for our country but I do sometimes feel a bit like a disappointed parent.
Maybe, I feel like the world's knowledge of us is through pop culture. I'm not sure Taylor Swift and Hollywood are the most accurate lenses. Otherwise, I agree.

Everything was taken care of. Everything from braces for children teeth to dialysis for the elderly…and I worked for US military in those countries. I can’t even get a US doctors appointment in a reasonable timeframe (2 months) and the last annual physical was with a PA who didn’t even look or touch my body…and I dress up and shower before I go see any medical professional. This generation is nothing but a screen culture. She looked at her computer screen the whole time…crazy

My son leaves Scotland this Friday bound for his permanent move to Michigan having married an American girl over 18 months ago, only just got his visa approved in the last few weeks. There are many downsides as well as positives, but I’m excited for them.

GDP per capita is definitely an important statistic, I'm not denying that; however, there are other statistics that you need to keep in mind. For example, I was born in Portugal and I wanted to move abroad, and so I did. Would Alabama be one of the options I'd really consider? Hell no!

America is also not as family oriented as many other countries. I also think some people are afraid of how their children may be influenced by some norms here that may contradict their cultural values.
As a single person, I consider that to be positive.
I like that aspect of our culture. I have nothing to do with my family since I lost my mother and sister in my 20's, and I prefer it. No social obligations or judgment about how I live my life.
I miss them dearly, but even then they were the only thing connecting me to my extended family.
Actually public transport in Europe is not limited to the cities. You can travel by public transport outwith the towns and cities. That just isn't true about gun violence being something perceived because of the media. Look at any per capita graph of shootings by country (not including war zones) and the USA is second behind Brazil. It is not perceived it is actual.
As an American the thing that is frustrating is the politicians on both sides do very little to address these issues, and don’t seem to even look at the countries with the highest quality of life or to emulate best in practice policies from other countries.
My Dad always said there are only 2 goals for a politician, which is to get re-elected and embarrass the other party. The older i get the more I realize how wise and true this saying is.

@@dagda3000The Funny thing is that the American culture is based on the European way of life that was transported to another continent so with a lot of land to develop and settle in the USA it was the European settlers wanted to live on large land, private homes and still today the American dream is basically the European dream of owning land, private homes, and being independent from any authority and that true image of European hidden desires is what the reality is in the USA. The problem with that world is what you see today, long commute, focus on driving, not having many Welfare systems, the USA is the outcome of European desires and dreams, is it perfect? No but it is the outcome of European settlers and how they made their dream in to reality so it is hard to be negative about the USA overall when it is European's desires that created the way it is today.

I was raised just outside of NYC. So the dialect and accent was “thick”.
I worked as a radiography technologist. However, I had relocated to Atlanta and working the overnight shift once, when We received a request for a chest X-ray in the recovery room. I volunteered to go do it. I said, I’ve never seen a gun shot wound.
Well, the shock on their faces! One of the coworkers said “I thought you were from NYC” and I’m like, “YO, not everyone from NY sees gun violence!” This hospital actually had 2 jail cells in the ER, something I had NOT seen in a hospital before.
The south is just different
It’s like everything else: there’s a ton of nuance to consider. Take racial tensions, for example. Western Europe has taken in tons of migrants since WW2 (especially since 2000) and the only reason there isn’t as much tension is that the migrants are mostly settled in enclaves that are somewhat isolated. And they’re ignored. But, as happens, those people lack opportunities and many turn to criminal pursuits that have resulted in increased crime and a lot of resentment. Google Malmo, Sweden or search videos for Birmingham, UK. Or the suburban projects outside of Paris or Marseilles. There a lot of hypocrisy involved with that response.
Many of the others are quite subjective. Remember that much of Europe is pretty densely populated so public transport makes far more economic and practical sense than it does here. We could argue healthcare all day long. Most European countries are great if you break a leg or have strep. But the US is far better for more complex issues. Lastly, the IRS; I 💯% agree with this one. Our tax system is absolutely insane. And the IRS are worse than the Mob. Also, our tax rates aren’t much better than many European countries because so many states have confiscatory tax policies too. So the total rate can be oppressive yet you don’t get the services that someone in, say, France gets. Oh, and let’s not forget that our sales taxes are added onto the price. Europeans hate that because if an item there is €20 or £10, that’s the price. Not €21.65. Their VAT is included in the price.
U.S. taxes are designed to protect and keep the wealthy in power. It's far easier to intimidate the poor, threatening prison or with added "taxes" than actively pursue rich powerful criminal citizens. I can just imagine how long an honest, straight IRS agent actually lasts on the job.
I grew up in New York City during the 80s and 90s and didn’t own my first car till 2005, you’re right about the public transportation in that aspect.
I think an elephant in the room is that for many countries in Western and Easter Europe. the standard of living for those at the *median income * is higher than their counterparts in the US. It is also statistically possible (with a high GINI) to have a higher per capital GDP (especially on an exchange rate measurement) and still have much of the population living at a lower standard of living than those at the equivalent realtive income rank percentile in the other country.
I wouldn't give too much stock to "median income". Even if some euro-median incomes are higher, the euros gotta pay 50% or more income taxes, even if they're middle income people.
Even when you factor in the lower cost of healthcare and schooling, they're still far less able to save and build capital. They also lack consumer choice. Most live in public housing they get on a waiting list for, Their kids are stuck going to the schools that they're assigned to. They get the doctor they're assigned to. You gotta get that appendix taken care of? Theres a 3 week waiting list, good luck.
Europes a great place to live in if you're a mediocre to substandard person. But if you aspire to excellence and success, if you cherish an independent spirit, if you have ambitions, or wanna safeguard the assets you already have, The USA is the better place to be!

Foreign banks not banking with American clients. Several foreign banks will not open bank accounts for Americans due to FATCA, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (or something like that). It requires foreign banks to comply with a lot of reporting requirements for their American clients. It is true, I have run into that problem in Europe. However, banks worldwide are now more used to the tax regulations they have to comply with, for their American clients, and it is becoming pretty rare for a bank not to bank with an American now. But I can guarantee some banks still treat Americans as persona not grata!

My 2 cents. I live in Toronto an expensive city. I agree with all of the above observations/complaints. The US started to go off the rails with the well loved Reagan. The 80's were very transitional and put the nation on the path it is today. I have a strong love/hate relationship with your country and really fear for its future, all this is very impactful for Canadians, we have little insulation when things go sour in the US.

They seek to regulate but not create high tech. Their defense spending and defense concerns will be increasing as they have been able to outsource it to the U.S. but that will slowly diminish.
As a Canadian I love to visit the US. I can’t say I feel real safe all the time but likely because I go to New York, New Orleans, and San Antonio. Interesting video, the list is pretty spot on and I agree with most of those issues and I am an American. Chatting with a lot of people abroad regularly I knew what #1 would be as I have met multiple people who won’t even vacation in the U.S. because of it. Healthcare is a big issue too. When you are accustomed to getting for nearly free, American’s system is baffling and scary.
I also hate the political tensions. I’m just over 50 so remember when it wasn’t this bad, I mean the Clinton Vs Dole election seemed like it was barely in the news unlike today where you have it in your face 24/7.

Public transport v car ownership is not an either or situation. Some journeys are more suitable to public transport and others more suited to driving your own car. The difference between Europe and the US is that in many instances the public transport option is just not available, or at least not as available as it is in Europe.
As an American, there's a few things I don't even like about living in the US. Agree with most of these, health care costs, political brainwashing, overly complicated tax process....but I'd also add scary religious fundies, the bizarre gun culture, violent crime that's higher than other developed countries, drivers that cluelessly drive in the passing lane and the embarrassing "American Exceptionalism" mentality, which is more often echoed by people who have never even been outside the country.
European, born and raised in Belgium and been traveling to the US for the past 16 years. I have been to 19 States so far and my heart is definitely American! 🇺🇸

My mom worked 2 jobs in Hong Kong, yet SHE STILL had a higher quality of life because of the social system. Trains were amazing and cheap, people didn’t fight about every little thing, food was fantastic. When work was over, it was play time. Now in 🇺🇸, after work…it’s bill time.

I can understand the healthcare system. I get bad results from orthopedic docs and their assistants. The Physical Therapy, however, is great!
Education costs so much and the grads are unemployable. Some say go to STEM. Actually, vo-tech high schools yield prospective STEM pros with experience (a requisite in their junior to senior years) and prepare them for the working world. Good ones can be sponsored by their employers for higher ed and professional development.
Work life balance depends on your workplace. Also with the hybrid work environment and some full-time telework positions, work life balance has improved. I always had good work life balance throughout most of my work life, more so now with the hybrid telework - office schedule after the COVID lockdown.
Public transportation can be worked around if it is not that good. I have been told by my mechanic to drive more because my annual mileage is ao low that it can affect my car's battery life. I usually take the bus because I don't want the stress of driving to and from work.

For a state brutally robbed by Germans from the West and Russians from the East, betrayed by US and UK in 1945, and which, historically speaking, just recently broke a communist yoke - very few US citizens have any idea what that kind of oppression means - it is by far not a bad result. Violence appears to be the ultimate con and our political situation. The Global Peace Index ranks "negative peace" for each country. Taxes! The U.S. has a PROGRESSIVE tax system. For the most part, the more you earn, the higher percentage you pay in taxes. What's that mean? It likely does not affect the very wealthy too much, but the upper-middle and middle classes are being pulled DOWN, having to pay excessive taxes to support the lower-middle and lower classes (housing, medical costs, food, clothing, education, transportation). Progressive tax system you say? 😂 Rich people often pay fewer taxes as a percentage of their income, and sometimes in nominal dollars than do people of the middle class!
This is actually the way most of US society prefers. While I personally like THE IDEA of a flat tax- also known as a regressive tax- system in theory, in practice, this results in the majority of the tax revenue coming from mostly the working and middle classes, since that’s who makes up the majority of the population (we’re starting the see the consequences of this with funding Social Security which itself is funded by a flat tax). The reason that progressive taxation was introduced was so that higher income bracket populations pay more of their fair share of tax revenue.

The US has become a very "ruthless" place over my 70 year lifetime. I now live in Canada---Married to a Canadian-----and believe me Canada has it's own set of very real problems. If I was starting out again I really feel I would not live in either the US or Canada but also probably not Europe.

About the only redeeming quality. Just be sure you know which state you are moving to. Blue states are often almost as bad as the UK's restrictions.
If you want to move to pro gun states without living in the armpit of the US I would recommend Idaho , Montana , Wyoming, (some Counties of Colorado are very anti gun /some are pro gun) Vermont , New Hampshire and Maine.

I'm American and I can agree with many of these reasons, it's sad and I wish America could do better, but that's not realistic at this time.

As a retired veteran I'm well aware the value of socialized medicine, yet that necessitates tolerance of long lines, waiting for 'future' appointments, and NOT always getting your physician of choice. The Europeans have conveniently overlooked telling you about being in two year waiting line for an MRI, or other special procedures. Medications and proceedures will be last year's versions and technology, not the latest. Finally, Americans whine incessantly in response to an increase in taxes, how do these short-sighted individuals suggest medical care will be provided without it costing a hefty rise in TAXES? Medical professionals, like other people, work for a paycheck, not good intentions.
When discussing the price of U.S. health care, it's necessary to recognize how much doctors pay for malpractice insurance and how badly the civil court system needs tort reform. Runaway juries handing out punitive damages make the whole industry paranoid, driving up insurance premiums.
I’ve heard this argument for years, however here’s what I experienced. I ended up in the ICU for six days in septic shock because of not one but a number of medical errors. I have a medical background myself and had never considered suing anyone. However, this doctor almost killed me. So I called a friend whose husband was a medical malpractice attorney. He essentially told me that no lawyer would even consider taking my case because cause I hadn’t been killed or disabled for life. Yeah. So much for frivolous lawsuits. To top it off, I was just about to start a new job when this happened, so I lay in my hospital bed worrying about whether or not I had medical coverage. This is what many Americans are dealing with on a daily basis. I am only one who fortunately lived to tell the tale. I still support doctors, but they do make mistakes and the patient should not have to pay the price.
I just received two injections for a skin problem: $21,000 per injection! I have insurance but still paying out several hundred dollars per injection, plus co-pays and office visits etc.
The same people crying about health care costs, are yelling for McDonalds workers to "make a livable wage."
The costs are also due to a massive amount of lobbying by pharma companies to keep the prescription import ban in place, so Americans can get charged 2-4x what the rest of the world pays and consolidation in healthcare providers that then raise prices. The SEC does little to stop mergers now, which is also a big part of the inflation in airfare, mobile plans, and many sectors.

They probably came from a bad place in Europe. I travel to Europe every 2 or 3 years. Definitely much better over there
Europeans who live in the US do tend to love it here. It's the ones who have never been here - or who vacationed in one of the giant cesspool cities - who have animosity for the US. Yes, if you vacation in NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, etc, you're going to think the US is a terrible place. If your only opinion of the US is formed from watching the reality TV shows that are our national news programs, you're going to think we're a third world country. Meanwhile, every European transplant I've ever known is in love with the US and never wants to go back.

I feel like the US prioritizes busy work over actual work. You need to pretend like you're working. It doesn't matter if you're actually doing anything.

The worst thing that you can ever be in the US is not pretending to work. It doesn't matter if anyone is working or doing anything, what matters is how you LOOK.
I used to work the night shift at a shipping company and it was so dead that I literally memorized every single item and country restriction in their International restricted items list. To this day I can still name them for you.

The pointless, stupid busy work we're all forced to do is maddening. Like....just give me something practical to do or send me home. Why are we even open if there's no one here?
Meanwhile because we're all doing that, we're not doing what needs to be done. There's no money for staff when we really need it. Like when everyone comes into the store before and after work or at noon. So we're understaffed and nothing gets done when it needs to, but there's a surplus of time when we don't need it. Like late at night when no one ever comes in. Money on electricity and staffing is being wasted when we could all just go home.
Money is not being spent on real equipment that is needed such as more cash registers or office equipment, etc...etc...
I could go on and on all day about this workplace incompetence.
The only satisfied workers in the US seem to be individual business owners.
