"Psychic reality" is a controversial concept, like "psyche" or "mind." By the latter terms some understand consciousness and its contents, others allow the existence of "dark" or "subconscious" representations. Some include instincts in the psychic realm, others exclude them. The vast majority consider the psyche to be a result of biochemical processes in the brain cells. A few conjecture that it is the psyche that makes the cortical cells function. Some identify "life" with psyche. A reality that is tailored to a particular experience isn't necessarily a prison or a deception. For beings who are limitless naturally, growth can reside in realities i.e matrices with rules and regulations that dictate the parameters we characterize as physics in this reality. The gnostics have good stuff, but demonizing the conscious forces that cater to the upholding of physical reality and its laws is probably the wrong approach. Awakening is probably just form of magnetism that one gives into once they are ready to stop being born and consciously merge back with God and the self. We probably push ourselves out as far as we can knowing that the true law will pull us back. From the divine perspective, a soul's life cycles are probably like a singular deep breath that inevitably culminates as release.
