I've got some albino beetroot on the go. Never tried it but supposed to be nice and you don't have the issue of the kitchen looking like someone's been murdered! Shame about the lost footage. Fingers crossed for your seedlings on the windowsill. Love that you have them in the shop.

Hi Tim, this is something we are very aware of and have been looking at alternatives for some time. We have for example, been using paper envelopes for several years when sending out our subscriber copies and of course these are completely recyclable and have proved very popular with our readers. We have also been searching for plastic-free alternatives for shop copies. Unfortunately starch-based alternatives have several disadvantages and aren't currently viable for us. For this reason we have moved to recyclable polythene for those copies sold in-store. These can’t be recycled at home but can be taken to local plastic bag recycling points available at many larger local supermarkets. Fingers crossed! Since recording the video I've decided to give myself the whole 4 day Easter bank holiday off to get stuck into the plot!
