@@ReefDudes I've only unboxed it so far, but I was surprisingly impressed with the design and build. Plastic is possibly a bit cheaper looking/feeling but that's about as bad as it gets. I'll set it up next week and will feed back...
have to give it to nicrew, they have been setting the bar for cheap lights, i currently have 2 150s over my 40 breeder, definitely going to order one of these for my max nano
pricing released on their website this morning. 100w - $189 150w- $249 200w- $319 Thanks for the video Dev, been waiting on someone to show them turned on. Hows the blue compare to the radions? Do you get that pop?
I have the 2 of the Gen 1s for the past 3 years, so far so good besides one of the power blocks going bad but other wise great lights, grows Sps! Just wish they would integrate the next generation to come with an App to control each individual color channels!
@ReefDudes I just received my lights today. I tried it, and the lights do come back on at 100% for a second, then they resume the schedule. The controller takes a second to load before resuming the schedule. One thing I'm worried about is if the controller fails, the lights do fallback to 100%.
The controller connection requirement reminds me of my old Kessil A360's and the gen 1 Spectral controller. I could overlook it if the controller cord has plenty of length, but it definitely makes it a bit of a hassle. Edit: After checking, the HyperReef controller and its screen graphics is definitely "inspired" by the Kessil Spectral X controller. Hope to hear a long-term review on the power supply. They don't last long according to reviews.
Want to see the difference in blue shade. The Nicrew have a purplish hue compared to other lights and want to see if they color up coral. The Gen 1s grow but that is it.
Just to let you know amazon has 100,150, 200 watts gen 2 . They price is $399 for 200 with they coupon$112 off costing you $287 100 watt $249 with $79 coupon $$170. 150 watt $319 coupon $95 $224. I have to say your getting a pretty good light for under 300.
I have the 150's on my frag setup, pretty decent lights apart from the noise and extra wire. On my 750xxl i run 3 micmol thor x, 99% sps, app control is much better imo, you should try them out.
This design is the design that the radions gen5 would have been if ecotech wasn't bought out. That why they bolt up to the radion railing kit. The patient expired that why you are seeing this light and the jabo mp40 design.
@raisethereef wrong he bought out brs in 2021. Echotech was bought out way before that. The problem is the company that bought them changes there name after so the filing show 2021 but there were bought out in 2020. In 2021 with them buying out the other company's the company name changed so the filing shows 2021 but they were bought out way early and keep it hush. Tell they other merger happened
@ Bertram bought BRS first. Then they bought Neptune Systems, Ecotech, and Marine Depot after that. Who bought Ecotech then sold it to Bertram? When Bertram bought Ecotech, the original founders still owned Ecotech. Multiple of them left with the purchase
@ yeah I really like the look of the new lights, added cost for the controller but I might pull the trigger. Sooooo anyone want to buy 3 150w gen 1 lights?! lol
Beat me to it! My vid is going up on Friday 😅
Nice vid Dev 🙂
How’s your thoughts on it overall? Curious how it compares to mine :)
Don't worry. We'll all definitely check out your review as well. Always looking forward to ReefDork product reviews!👍

Do a comparison with all blue channel. Is it truly blue or more purple.
Great video dev thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it.
Solid light for budget conscience reefers! Love it! 👏🙌👌

Tons of juice for a nano!
@ yes, i’ll be dipping my toes into acros soon. this light will be mainly for spread but knowing i have the power of the sun is a plus 🪸
Great Review 😊 Glad you did the 200 watt 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
@ReefDudes Good & Honest ♥️
Wish they would have kept the 3 puck for the 150w.
pricing released on their website this morning.
100w - $189
150w- $249
200w- $319
Thanks for the video Dev, been waiting on someone to show them turned on. Hows the blue compare to the radions? Do you get that pop?
It’s not as wide of a spectrum as radions in terms of color rendition but it does have some nice color pop under the blues
@ good to know. Thanks for the reply back
how is the blending? Does it have alot of color separation on the sand and rocks or does it have a nice shimmer?

@@westsida101 yea an app would be nice… and onboard memory so you have to leave the controller plugged in
@@ReefDudesIn all fairness, a great light for an affordable price.
Have you simulated a power failure to see if they come back on to scheduled settings or come on 100% all channels?
Not with out the controller. Will have to try that later

@@billydanzz there lots of inspired by :). A few of the comments pointed that out, hopefully they used a better one for g2 over g1
@@ReefDudes pretty sure it’s the same one. Just rebranded.
Does the controller have to be connected at all times to retain the schedule and program?
Yes it does

I have a innovative marine 75g with 2 ai prime 16hd. Would I be better off switching to 1 of these 200w..?
Great video
Thank you
Whats the name of the blue zoas? that colour is awesome!!
They do have nice color but they are borderline invasive so half wish i never added them.

Woo finally live
Can you daisy chain two lights with just one controller?
Yes. Type c cord
Yes you can. Each light has two usbc ports

hows the noise on them?
Is there a mobile app to use for controlling them?
Can you use it on a timer and have it keep your settings without the controller ?
I believe so but will have to test that
wow what are the pink and blue hard branchings corals at 4:20 tank looks amazing
Thank you! Pink is red dragon and blue is magi Tort
Have the 50 on nano. Use the 0-10v control through Hydros controller and works well (not sure if that one had 0-10v?). Do notice when fan kicks on.
Just usbc style cables unless there is an adapter for it.
I can't find the 200w version on amazon. Is it out of stock ?
It’s not released yet. It should be on there shortly
I just order 2 200 watts for 288 each they taking off $112 on 200 watt. That's a good deal..
how deep is that tank?
I believe 24”
Yep 24”
Does it have the 0-10v port for control?
I don’t believe so.
Have nicrew given all TH-camrs these lights for free for publicity? 😂
@@jokesaside9207 that’s usually how it works :P
Get an ati straton pro to test !! They are awesome LEDs
I haven’t seen one in person yet but they do look pretty sleek in pics

@ reef tech is going nuts at the moment, the new jecod dmp are very interesting to me with similar tech to the VorTechs too
