I was a Better Help therapist for a little over a year in addition to my private practice and teaching work. I did it because it was very flexible and I wanted to learn more about working virtually at the time (it was pre-pandemic). I met wonderful people and had a great experience, however I must say, there were times it was frustrating because the compensation for therapists is not great. As I mentioned, I chose it for the flexibility and there are pro's and con's with everything. I'm glad you spoke to shopping around for someone you feel you can work with, it should be a dialogue and partnership!

In my humble opinion, there is a massive difference between online therapy services and in-person therapy at a reputable counseling center. I have found results with working through severe anxiety with a well matched therapist for my personality type in person. I echo the sentiments of other commenters to invest in you! You are what matters most. Spend your hard earned money on results. ❤️ as to grapefruit, consult your pharmacist if you take rx medications. It can be deadly to mix grapefruit with a large variety of medications.

Agreed! BetterHelp is also a pretty shady company--they sell users' data (which feels super icky when it's a therapy platform) and I believe also treat their therapists pretty poorly. For anyone interested in starting therapy, please choose another means! If you're looking for a therapist who accepts your insurance, psychology today can be a good place to start

Hi Michel, so happy to hear that you’ve been having a great therapy experience. As a therapist myself, I can’t help but be disappointed about the partnership with Better Help for so many reasons on both sides for therapists and clients. Please reconsider your partnership with this company.

Hand sewing can be therapeutic, but that might be a difficult first project. You can pick up a fusible product-Heat’n bond light, Steam a Seam or the like at your local JoAnn fabric store. You iron it to the wrong side of your fabric, remove the paper, place the fused fabric on your main fabric, fusible side down and press, until it fuses-follow the directions on the pkg. the fusible will stop the fabric you attach to the main fabric from fraying. They make a tape version which would be handy to fold over the sides, hem, and rod pocket and fuse into place to finish the edges…. Good luck!

Honestly, dawn dish soap has gotten out every single oil stain (and other stains) I’ve ever gotten on any garment. Even if it’s a stain I didn’t notice right away and it either sat for a few days or even been washed a few times before using the soap, it still works like magic and I use it all the time now

Whenever you get oil or oily food on your clothing immediately put Dawn Dish Soap in it and on the opposite side of the fabric turned inside out. Use a good amount.
Now let it sit a full 24 hours minimally and then wash them. Check if anything is still left on them and if so do the same process again. Do not dry them until it’s gone.

My previous husband had an affair and we tried marriage counseling but we just couldn't get back what we had. I did end up going to therapy on my own and what really helped was doing group therapy with other women who experienced similar circumstances. You may ask your therapist if they know of any groups for women going through this in your area. Believe me I know exactly how you feel. I was in deep depression for 6 months, quit my job, lost 50 pounds, my hair starting falling out, and even though I had interested men I was hesitant to date for awhile. It just takes time but dating is the best thing but don't rush into anything serious for awhile but enjoy yourself.

My husband and my mother both died the same year. I woke and found him, widowed at 41 with our 5 kids and 2 more fostered children, and 4 weeks later my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I couldn't eat and could barely function with grief. More than half my hair just fell out on clumps. Then shortly after, one best friend died, leaving her 11 yr old orphaned and my other best friend was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. I ended up at the doctors needing medication, diagnosed with complicated grief, PTSD, severe depression and anxiety, never having mental health issues prior to my husband's death, but everyone has a breaking point. We can only take so much before we have to seek physical and emotional help for a hand up out of the darkness. People ask when I am going to date. I have no interest. My husband will always be my other half, but even if I did eventually want to, I have to relearn how to breathe and live first.

I know this was probably filmed a lil bit ago but hope you’re feeling better. For grease spots the best product I’ve ever used is Stanley Original Degreaser but you can also use regular Dawn dish soap. Put enough to cover the grease spots and work it into the fibers front and back. Let it set at least 10-15 minutes or until your ready to wash it. It won’t hurt most fabrics. Then wash as you normally would. It’s best to do before it’s washed and dried but I’ve done it after I noticed it out of the dryer and still works.

I have a cure for your clogged ears that really works. If you have a waterpic system, I fill the reservoir with warm water and a dash of peroxide and use the waterpic device to squirt the water into my ears. I am always shocked at how much debris gets washed out. It's better than a qtip because you aren't compressing the wax further into your ear.

OHHH MANNN... if your plan is to learn hand sewing on layers of denim thick fabric.... I STRONGLY suggest you try it first on something else. And you will absolutely need some kind of thimble to push the needle through those fabrics. And you should just skip the sticky pad kind. Fabric that thick is actually exactly the kind you NEED a machine for, if you have access to one.
There are needles for sewing machines that are made specifically for denim type fabrics and you need those. They're designed to punch through without breaking as easily. Some machines are not designed to handle denim type fabrics, but that doesn't mean you can't use them for that. It just means it shouldn't be done often unless you're fine servicing said machine a lot. I used mine for 8 years on extremely thick fabric, that it absolutely was not designed to handle and it still works fine. It's gone in servicing a lot, and if I'd known when we bought it what it's primary use would be, I'd have picked a different one, absolutely. But I didn't, so I didn't.
Hand sewing is a wonderfully meditative art form and you may enjoy it. But this project shouldn't be your first one for that. You're definitely better off getting the heavy fabric needle and using the machine. (For a bigger project you'd want the heavy thread too, but something this small and a one time project you should be fine with general all purpose thread.)

There might be a way to rig your tapestry up as a Roman shade, so you don't have to actually take it down when you want to watch TV. I think it could still hang on a simple rod and have some rings unobtrusively sewn on the back for cords.

This was stated so kindly. ❤️ I think a lot of people would appreciate her addressing her exes criminal charges, simply because they occurred while they were together and many of us have supported her in one way or another - be it watching her videos, buying her clothes, using affiliate links, etc. It would be a sigh of relief to know she was not aware of the charges until recently, although that would be terrible to discover as well. Sending good wishes. ❤️

I didn't know he had criminal charges.? I must have missed that somewhere. I'd like to know too but I don't know if asking her would work out . She may say that it's his story to tell and that it's personal. I'm not very happy with that young male thing ( not calling him a man because I'm pissed at him) for hurting her, and hope he has to go to jail, but I really don't think asking her will end well for those who ask her. Good luck if you do ask her. I do wonder if it has anything to do with him throwing that hammer at her or if he put his hands on her. If he did, he deserves everything he gets and I really hope he gets time.

This past week has been been incredibly shocking and painful for a lot of people connected to my ex, brook smith. I’ve been finding out many details about him that I was completely unaware of, that he hid from me-including a minimum of 10 affairs that happened during our relationship. This was yet another thing he lied to me about and manipulated me into not knowing.
I do want to say, this crime happened before we met, and he was charged we were dating-which he successfully hid from me. When I started to have suspicious of something going on, he twisted the story and gaslit me into believing blatant lies, (just like he has with our entire relationship, to over 10 other women, and to several employers). I’m just now getting into contact with the girls and employers involved in this incident to try and learn information myself.
On behalf of all the girls that have been destroyed by this man including myself, I ask for you to please respect my mental health as I find these answers. I will do my best to release a statement when it feels appropriate, but NOT before I make sure to protect all the women involved. This has been a whirlwind of grief, betrayal and hurt. I want to make sure that I learn everything I can before sharing other people’s stories here. I just want to remind you, real lives were destroyed by this man. Including mine.

@@zaelzavala6928 I don’t know what charges you’re talking about, but she doesn’t owe you an explanation for anything. They’re divorced now and whatever he may or may not have done is over and she is moving on. Let the girl be. If she knew about whatever, then you’re asking her to relieve something that she may not want to. And if she didn’t know about it, then you want her to what? Get on camera and be traumatized for your benefit? Leave her alone. Even though she overshares a lot of things, she’s still allowed and entitled to keep things private.

I will echo what others have said in that I’m so happy you found a great therapist for you. However, BetterHelp is not a great company for those of us who are therapists. They underpay their clinicians, they sell user data, AND they’ve now stolen therapist data and make listings under our names, pretending we are on BetterHelp when we aren’t and drive business using our names to their site. :( Many social workers are trying to get a class action lawsuit together to get BetterHelp to stop false advertising using our own data. These larger companies are exploiting us - tiny private practices, small business owners and it is so frustrating that no one outside the industry realizes how awful this is for the quality of mental health services and us being able to bargain for fair compensation from insurance companies. :(

When I saw the title of your video I thought about how you had just said you seem to get sick every time you’re home! Heal fast:-)
I love vintage fabric and I’m so happy to see you finding fabulous vintage clothing and fabric for your project. I restore vintage and antique quilts and use only fabric from the era of the quilts (late 1800’s through 1960’s). I have a friend who is a costume designer and she once explained why the older material is so much better, something about thread count (I don’t remember exactly 🤷🏼‍♀️). Anyway, get well soon 💕
