Bought a new bike last month, it's price as well as my budget could have easily had me opt for an eeb if I had wanted, didn't even cross my mind. They just aren't there yet for me.
@gmbn Our son said: "Ditch your 30 year old, 26" wheel cross country bike dad, get an e-bike, and you can come out with us lot and keep up." So I did, and now I wait for them 😆
For most applications no. But for bike packing / touring it would make the whole experience more fun. I carry a lot of gear and when I make camp I am a little fried. It would be fun to drop the gear and blast around on the motor like a dirt bike.
I saw a guy shred some berms, jump some tables, rocket off a drop and navigate at speed down a techy rock garden with a massive smile on his face. I don't need to see what's between his legs to tell you he was a mountain biker.
I am a coach on a NICA team and I bought an e-bike just to keep up with these crazy fast kids. It wound up opening a whole New World of riding for me. I tend to exert just as much effort as before, but I am riding up way steeper and vastly more technical trails than I ever imagined would be possible. I find myself enjoying climbing just as much as I enjoy the gravity side of things. My legs have not suffered in terms of fitness, however, my upper body strength has exploded since riding the E bike. I still ride my old analogues, but my E bike has become my go to.
Just getting back into MTB as a fit 61 year old. Lucky to have a choice of bike but bought a nice hardtail. Although a time will come when I need assist to help on the hills, that time is not yet and I’m not about to surrender the fitness I have worked so hard to get. The down hills are the rewards for working hard on the uphills, and I get pleasure from both aspects. Can’t help but feel that with a motor, the feeling of elation when you’ve completed a climb, worked hard on the way up will be gone.
I’ve just “upgraded” to an EMTB. Reason, my job is a fitness instructor. I teach 12 classes a week. Since teaching fitness as a living my mountain biking days suffered. Why? I enjoy riding trails on my days off from teaching fitness but they were also my “rest days”! The last thing I wanted to do is more hard exercise!! An EMTB has got me back out without blasting my heart rate every ride! (You can still get a big workout on an EMTB it just means your doing 3 loops of a trail instead of one… )
Or you turn down the power when you want more workout--- the beauty is the flexibility of this tool to give you whatever level of workout you need, from blowing up your heart to taking a recovery ride all on the same trails.
@@TheTrailRabbit Make it at least 1 😁I rode about 20% of my ride last weekend at 0. The next 75% was at 10% power which makes the effort about like riding my Stumpy, and the last 5% in Eco mode. I realize I'm in the minority but most people don't ride their ebike at full power either. The ebike makes it so much easier to stay in zone 2.
No. I’m going to be 47 in a couple of months. I still have another 25-30yrs of being able to pedal myself. Now I did secretly want one at Kanuga Bike Park. No shuttle or lifts. My profession is in tech but somehow I hate the idea of charging anything on my bike or the bike itself.
That is the most honest and respectable reason for not liking ebikes that I've heard. Although I have one, I'm in the tech profession as well and struggle with that dilemma myself. I don't even like using my phone on my days off.
Hi Happy Riders, ride MTB since 1991,race DH for 29 years, riding E Bike since 2019-Absolute LOVE IT, Cannondale MoterraSL w 19.5kg is my sweetspot, dont give a Shxt about haters. greetings from Portugal
My wife and I bought e-bikes this summer… now I’m getting an analog full suss and she’s getting an analog gravel bike! It goes both ways. Being 50 years old and getting BACK into MTB with an e-bike gave me a taste of the joy. I’ll be keeping both on trails, once I get my analog! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
As a Senior, I got an eMTB to still do my MTB stuff. Still gets the heart rate up, but that assist really helps when I need it. Makes it more enjoyable. And...Tom...where is your red phone??
It's been on the shelf in the back for a few weeks, thought i'd try and match the clean new set aesthetic for a bit! Should I bring it back to the table next week?
Actually no sus fork yet. And no dropper either. I never felt the need for a dropper. The full sus ebike did have a dropper and I never used it @@harveycasey1900
I don't know anyone that hates e-bikes...but...getting labeled a hater is easy to do, just mention you don't want or need an e-bike and you're immediately a hater. Sorry, I like climbing and I'm only 57 so I'm years away from needing pedal assist.
Fair enough for your situation, you have your reasons to luv our sport and so do emtb riders. However, it's not that you're saying you don't want an emtb that offends many emtb riders, it's the why. Having the ability to pedal under your own power from A to B faster than others use to be the only gauge for ability, but that's roadie mindset. Mtb is more about getting the tires off the ground, shred berms then chat about it at the bottom of each run. Obviously, speed comes into it, not necessarily from pedaling but more from pushing available grip to the edge. If this wasn't the case, uplifts at bike parks wouldn't be used. Note though, I don't use uplifts much at bike parks now that I have an emtb.
I hate e bikes!!! There destroying my local trails, annoying me and the other people who maintain the trails, they have no etiquette, the other day i was riding down a trail and 4, lets say "larger" guys were tanking up the trail and they weren't gonna stop so i had to stop and get to the side, they didn't even thanks. All i heard was that lame whining electric sound like a tesla, theres a perfectly good fire road but oh no, lets ride up the trail. There even annoying the dog walkers. Yup thats how bad it is
Fair enough, a lot of people do jump to conclusions when someone says emtbs are not for them. Same can be said for the actual haters though. A lot just generalize all emtb-ers to be the same. Some just want to get more rides in the limited amount of time available to them, some are lazy, some have mobility issues, some are nice and some are a holes. Just a bunch of Ass-umptions going around lol
I am in my 70s and have ridden mountain bikes for decades. I live in a high mountain town in northern Arizona and the climbs can make my heart rate go to a lethal level. I bought an e-mountain bike with a full suspension in January and this has allowed me to keep my heart rate at manageable levels while also having the ability to Conquer any climb and ride longer and explore more. It has all been positive for me, although if I was a fit 40 something I would not have gone for an e-bike.
YES! Do that crazy looking Italian DH race! Maybe include Hank too! lol Love the new Bike Vault intro! #captioncontest "Owen being haunted by the ghost of Christmas future. The future of Owen."
My new ride is an e-bike, and it’s been such a great experience taking my then 3-year-old along in the kids' ride shotgun setup. It’s really helped us spend time outdoors, enjoy our love for biking, and get her interested in outdoor sports. E-bikes make cycling accessible to everyone, and I think we should definitely encourage them for all the fitness and environmental perks they bring!
E bikes can be amazing for people with physical conditions that make riding without the pedal assist really tough. Or someone that’s maybe older and not as fit can now maybe ride at a pace with a faster rider. Like a farther and son/daughter or mother and daughter/son. I say let’s encourage riding of all kinds to all abilities and not exclude anyone with un sensitive banter/abuse.
yeah spot on, my dad has some health issues and an avid dirt bike/mtb rider in the past and now on an e-bike he's back out there having a ball,. has done wonders for him
But you see, even though you don't think your being offensive you're still saying your better than all emtb riders because you don't need peddle assist. I agree, there are many riders that wouldn't be able to participate without them, but not all. For a lot of us an emtb is just a tool for a different job. When I want to get a workout while riding, I take the analog hardtail. When I want to ride, I take the emtb.
@@redbomberr4594 I really don’t see it that way at all, I must have missed the bit where he rates how good everyone is, this is a point of view and really no one should be offended by it, I’m not sure if you really are or your worried about hypothetically offending people
@@reubroper1427 Not sure if your last comment was for me, but I'll answer anyway. Nah, that's not what I'm saying. I could certainly get a good workout on my ebike, and on the occasional ride I've focused on it. But that isn't where my love for riding comes from.
I’m lucky to have an analog and an e-bike. scor enduro for mostly bike park riding. specialized turbo levo for the local trails without shuttle service. playing football 3 times a week, i love the flexibility the eeb gives me to get some bike laps during the rest days. + i improved my riding so much because i could get so many laps in during the rides. In the end, i just love bikes. Doesn’t matter with motors or without.
I was an absolute hater of e-bikes!! Could not stand them… then I rented one for the day at FOD…. Ended up going home and selling my Santa Cruz bronson and buying an ebike!! Never looked back.
I’m 50, in great shape and love pedaling my bike! I also love riding my e bike! If I’m riding downhill or sleazy to cover a longer distance the e-bike is amazing ! They both have their place!
Got a GasGas Trail 3.0 for my 50th. Best purchase ever. Getting older, struggling to ride for a couple hours or ride all day long on ebike? I chose the latter & super happy.
I used to think that I would get an ebike when I got older, but at 63 I'm starting to think that I never will. I love the burn and feeling that I get from pushing myself up a huge climb. How I do on climbs is how I know what sort of shape I'm in. I'm fine with accepting the fact that I'll get slower.
I love my Canyon TorqueOn CF9. Since getting it I have tripled my miles and progressed my riding way more than on my old Clash. I can also tow my sons back to the top at the DH trails we have which has greatly improved their riding.
Recently I saw a video about canyon having a problem with their ebike batteries. They put a stop use on them. Apparently you only got the email if you’re a registered user in their database? Pretty sure it was canyon

My eMTB journey started when my wife received a top of the line specimen as a gift so she could ride with me on my analog bike. A trail adventure to bed in her brakes scrambled my eggs so hard. Soon after I scooped up my eMTB almost 7 years ago when I hit 50. The only things left from the stock bike are the crankarms, dropper, frame and R derailleur. It has been my fountain of youth since day 1. Now that everything is just perfect I'm super chuffed.
I'm 49 and new to the sport, but I am already enjoying the downhill more than the uphill. I'm currently on a down country bike, so I know I have to earn the downhill, but with an EMTB, I could do more laps and get more downhill for the same energy expenditure. I'm definitely on board with the EMTB and what it offers.
I was opposed to eMBTs but recently bought one since sale prices are so good right now. Now I'm 100% in love with my eMBT. I keep the power off for as much as possible, then I use it for extra steep climbs as needed. My revalation is that I love the eMTB be cause I can ride so much farther and explore things that were inaccessible to me before, plus now when I'm exhausted the return trip isn't so daunting, since I can carry myself home with a little bit of power 😁.
Personally love the world the eMTB's opens up. Im from the Netherlands and love to ride my local MTB routes and LOVE to share the experience with friends. Now my friends dont ride, so the full loop is too much for them on a normal MTB, using the eMTB though they can keep up (sometimes even outpace me) through the entire trail and they can truly enjoy the experience that MTBs can bring. All of them agree that if they'd get into it and buy their own MTB they would buy a normal MTB. So id say that even as someone who doesnt like riding an eMTB, i do think they are great tools to get everyone riding.
Have always wanted one. You can't just go out on a dirt bike and ride anywhere. But you can on an emtb. It's just a matter of time, they are getting better every year and obviously money..... totally going to get one!
loved my acoustic bike ... but for various health reasons ebike was my desire. Have a Santa Cruz Heckler SL ... never going back. In fact Rich went wow wow over it when I submitted my photo when he was host about a year ago. 😉
Actually used your 80 RPM cadence to great effect in Fuerteventura yesterday on ebike hardtail for 50 km tour, tried the 60 but 80 felt way more natural. Cheers.
E-biking made me a better MTBer on and off the eeb. Could be a hot-take but for me it's helped me work on my tech climbing skills without being too knackered which has now meant I have got the skills down and can get up those same climbs on the winter hardtail. It's fun to have the comparison of low weight Vs lightweight bikes for skills building and maintaining flow also.
I have the n+1 problem but my eMTB is the tool I use for certain things just like my trail bike, trails bike, "gravel" hard tail, fat tire bike and tandem bike. They are all mountain bikes that fill different niches.
I've got both an ebike and an Analogue bike. The ebike is good for bike trails to get more runs in etc because it makes the large climbs so much quicker and yes you do have to pedal. Personally I think a lot of the haters are in one of 2 camps.. They are either very jealous or just don't understand what an ebike does as they think it's basically a motorbike with pedals rather than a bicycle / mountain bike that helps you. I'm 52 so welcome the extra help an ebike gives me & it's made biking more fun and actually encourages me to ride more.
Yep - most of the criticism is either people who think bikes are too expensive (understandable to a degree, but that's life these days) or don't realise that a Class-1 bike (which is all GMBN or EMBN talk about) only assists you - you still have to pedal... and that fundamentally you can choose how much or little assistance you get.
Also, as your comment illustrates perfectly - no one is insisting you have to pick a side, you can have both... Just like you might have an XC and a DH bike, it's all mountain biking!
@@yodapig True! From single-speed single-brake Dirt Jump bikes, to XC, to Downhill, to flat bar gravel, to squeeky trials bikes, and wheelies in the city it's all 'mountain biking!'
I have a carbon, fullsuspension, E-mtb with all the bells and whistles on it. And I love it. Still, I just bought myself a new steel full rigit mtb. I like the simplicity of this bike. I even have a fat bike for the winter. And this one is great too. Everything has its time and place. 😊
love the new set.... need badly some acoustic treatment to reduce the echo/slap the mics are picking up. For instance hanging "could" panels on the ceiling and the back wall behind the cameras.
Ebiking got me back in bikes.. love it! I’m riding more than ever! I get an hour of riding in just commuting to work daily. Hills be damned! I ride reg push bikes to and it’s just a different tool!
For the 2L pressure canister, I can confirm the failure point is 7 uses at 100 psi. I take a group of Cub Scouts out every year to shoot off 2L bottle rockets. Being a fire protection engineer that specializes in explosion protection, I wanted to find out the failure point. The Cubs were obviously onboard. So, we tested and found out.😂
I have a 2020 bike and I was going to change it for a new one but an e-bike makes much more sence. I’m 41 years old, and ebikes are much more accesible and beautiful. 🙌🏻
I love having both emtb and memtb bikes in my stable. If i take the Memtb i do a shorter harder pedal day and i feel I’ve accomplished something. Or i take the eeb and ride for twice as long and 3x the distance and still feel just as knackered by the end of it. Nothing wrong with riding either bike. If you’ve got issue about what other riders are doing with their lives then the problem is with your perception. Live and let live.
I’m over 60 and my fitness is all thanks to traditional (hard tail) mtbs. I embrace the climbs. I have time to enjoy the view and have a think. Never say never to emtbs but not yet…. I do feel that younger emtb riders are not doing themselves favours as they get older; spending an hour in a motor car, then jumping straight onto a motor bicycle…
All manner of people have ebikes for all manner of reasons. Yours seems a very narrow minded stereotypical view. At 50 and after several knee injuries I have emtb, gravel and XC bikes. If I 'grind' on the gravel or XC more than once a week then due to previous knee injuries and knee condition (mostly due to sporting injury) I'm unlikely or unable to do much cycling without causing more problems and inflammation. Hence I can manage my knees much better using an ebike ride amongst other rides. I simply would not be able to maintain fitness without it. And that's the key here - you seem to be assuming everyone is able to do what you can. Where the reality is ebikes are getting many people out and on bikes, in some cases for longer and aiding their fitness where without them they may not be out at all.
I have got back into biking for the past couple of years and would not have been able to ride the distances or terrain without pedal assist. I decided to buy a Turbo Levo and absolutely love it. I went out with colleagues this year, I'm 60 and they are in there early thirties and they ride MTB's, I was hoping to keep up with them but ended up having to wait around for them to catch up. As for having E-bikes on this channel I'm not a fan as they should be on EMBN and kept separate. I think in years to come most people will be riding E-bikes as the price comes down and younger people see the benefits. Great shows, keep up the good work guys.
This proves that there is a drastic difference in what EMTB does compared to acoustic bikes. Some are saying it doesnt do the work for you and that "Everyone will be riding them eventually" And yet your 60, and had to wait for riders half your age to catch up. I wonder why, perhaps it is closer to a motorbike than the defenders want to admit, and that it can do most of the work for you, which is fine if thats what you want. But maybe they are separate things, and should be separate not only by channel as you suggest, but on trails as well. See, when your ascending steep single track climb trails to get to the descending jump trails, you dont typically anticipate someone passing you at speed, giving you little time to react or move out of the way (as has been my experience when smug ebikers say on your left at the last second and expect you to move right away even if theres nowhere to move to) This is dangerous, and part of the hate for Ebikers. Bikes in general are a danger to people walking and trail running too, but MX bikes are such a higher risk they are not allowed on most trails and have specific trails for them. Possibly the same should happen for Ebikes, or they can ride with the MX bikes on their trails and figure out a system of symbiosis there. And the argument also stands that some Ebikes, mostly those with throttle and fat tires with MX type tread will chew up trails, berms, jump lips etc way worse than acoustic bikes, especially in wet weather, which hurts the trails for everyone else. I've noticed alot more slop on my local trails than usual, which directly correlates with huge uptick in Ebikes. But thats a minor detail and many would argue is a non issue. Mainly I'm talking safety here which can come down to the rider etiquette too, I've probably just encountered Ebikers with poor etiquette that dont take into consideration that acoustic bike riders deserve respect when they are ascending steep climbs and instead of smugly passing at speed and startling them, they can either wait (whats a few extra minutes waiting really, you have an Ebike, you save all the time in the world according to you guys) or pass very slowly and use a pleasant sounding bell, instead of shouting "ON YOUR LEFT" which many seem to say even when they pass you on your right because its a stupid catchphrase that often doesnt even work when your on single track.
@@augmented2nd666 And your point is........??😁no don't reply, just wasted 10 minutes reading a reply that is only partly relevant to my quote, seems like you have problems my friend but hey go out and do some more biking to release the stress you have.
@@Xacti100 That took you 10 minutes to read? What part of it did you not understand and why are you resisting further engagement. Do you not like safety, or do you think your 30 year old friends are just out of shape and motors still dont make that big a difference?
Just bought myself an Amflow PL Carbon and tricked it out with Xx T Type transmission, Reverb Axs dropper, sram code Ultimate Stealth brakes and Zipp Moto wheelset with Magic Mary and Big Betty, all taken off my Bird Aether 9c. Still got my Cotic BFE Max too but got to admit the way I can get more done on the emtb it's getting harder to reach for the Hardtail, climbing is soooo much more fun on the Amflow 🤔👍
Yeah. I secretly wanted an eMTB for two years... This autumn I bit the bullet and got an EBike. I love it, I still can train hard and I hope to keep riding my non-assist MTB with my ride partners that are secretly wanting ebikes but are to hardcore to admit it...
I love ebikes cause I like to ride every day even though I have to work a 10 hr days 5 days a week and this helps me plus its not cheating try a ebike for a week
I will buy an emtb when I can finally afford one, I don’t see the what the fuss is about, it’s still a mountain bike… until then I’ll keep riding my mtb. Keep em coming guys, fantastic content as always.
I'm coming up to 52 and I love my pedal power full suspension downhill. For me it's about keeping fit I regularly ride 6 to 8 hours every other day and during summer all day. When I first started I used to push the bike up hills, now I just power up them with my legs. Maybe when I'm 60 I'll consider a battery powered. Peace ✌️
I have just bought an Orbea Wild and it's amazing and got me back out. I've been riding mtb's for 30 plus years (I'm 56) but haven't got the time to keep super fit and this bike has made it possible to get out and have fun and you still get a workout.
I love my Trek Fuel EXe and my Trek Top Fuel. On my e-bike, I consistently finish rides with the same average heart rate as my acoustic bike and ride twice as far. Enough said.
Yeah, I'm on a light e-mtb. I've been on bikes since my childhood. After 65yrs+ of hard riding ( began at 5yrs) and accumulated injuries i'm lucky enough to still be capable of riding 'well', but now on a low power e-mtb. When I approach an analogue rider from behind it is most often on a climb. If they notice me being 30m behind I drop back to 50m and wait for them to either speed up or stop for a break. E-mtb riders are in the same place that snowboarders on ski hills were when they were starting out. You probably won't believe that snowboards were developed in the early '70s and met a lot of resistance from skiers. I ski, not ride, still. Enjoy the dirt.😄
#CAPTIONCONTEST Sherlock bones came to visit Gmbn because he heard it was a real hip joint, but when he heard about the hounds and beagles segment it sent shivers down his spine. Owen tried to reassure him that there was nothing to worry about but he could see right through him!
I am definitely getting an e-bike for my next bike. I get better exercise on an e-bike. My heart rate stays higher for a longer period of time because I'm not taking any breaks and I'm on the bike for a longer period of time. It is also more fun 😁🤙
My argument for e-bikes is that I don't see anyone calling motocross riders lazy. I'm not saying motocross riders are lazy, in fact quite the opposite. You can get a good workout on a dirt bike, and an e bike isn't even full power like that, so it should be an even better workout. I'm dying to get an EMTB! Only problem is $$$ 😂
Ebike haters have few friends. I'm so lucky to have friends that were the pioneers of trail building and advocacy for mtb access. These amazing visionaries are now in their 70s with broken bodies from shredding hard on fully rigid bikes in the 90s. Ebikes have enabled them to join us younger and fitter riders on all the trails they helped design and build. Before haters hate on ebikes, try getting to know the pioneers and check out their cool ebikes. EDIT: Btw, these ebiking visionaries are also the same people who are doing the majority of the trail maintenance. Most are still laying out, digging new trails, and fundraising to get more trails built. If you think ebikers are destroying trails, please think again.
No secret about it. If you are a little older and still want to go shred for 6 hours an ebike is a fantastic option. Let go of your pride and just go ride!
Love my ebikes, last weekend 57km, 8 proper downhill tracks (green, blue & black), 1 climbing track (x2), straight up fireroads (x6), technical looped XC tracks, 1830mtrs elevation, 5.30hrs. From home the weekend before - a 95km Linear Park ride through the city to the beach to the foothills & back, 7hrs.
I've been on the analog bike side of the argument for years. This year I suffered a chronic knee injury and was determined to persevere with my newly-acquired Rocky Mountain, but I've had to admit defeat and buy a Trek Rail as this is the only thing that's going to allow me to continue to get out. I'm 56, FWIW.
Im a 40yo fairly fit dad that can still climb, BUT... I am def ready for an emtb. The fun factor outweighs all the haters and shame. Ill get my workout loading the ebike onto my bikerack.
I'd love any kind of bike since had to sell mine as fell on hard times. An E-bike is only ever going to be a dream😊 Caption contest: rich took on his toughest challenge yet, Owen? Could not help!!
I don't hate e-bikes for other people, but no desire to get an e-bike for myself. The best part of no e-bike is the challenge of trying to smugly pass an e-bike
I got an EMTB hardtail to commute and i love it as the most logical way to work involves some off road. Who wants to pedal a normal bike home after a 10 hour night shift up a massive hill? For actual mountain biking though, it's my normal Nukeproof reactor though, 100% of the time. My nukeproof is my mountain bike, my Cube is my transport! Written from bed at 9am after returning from my ride home, goodnight guys, or is it good morning? Whatever 😴😴
I hired an Emtb recently for the day and loved it but the simple matter is I don’t want to spend 10-15 k on a Bicycle, lose heaps when I sell it and then have to come up with all that cash again in a few years. I want simpler, cheaper bikes to have fun on.
I had my last mtb for 15 years. I have replaced it with an analogue bike. Being 55 years old my next bike will be an ebike, in 10 or 15 years. Hopefully I'll still be hitting jumps and chasing loam.
I fully understand why a e-bike is good However I personally don’t want to have to charge my bike to go out and have some fun and worry about how much battery I have left. 2 months ago I had the option to get a e-bike or a new analog after trying both I still feel for me that analog is still more suitable for what I want form a mtb
I kinda like the 'idea' of an ebike but I prefer something that I can repair myself and isn't headed for landfill. Meat-powered and ebike are just different disciplines.
Any lasting injury an ebike is your way to be able to still ride no matter how limited plus people go to the gym to run on tredmills and do stair master its the exact same thing like ebikes try people and dont get a throttle bike get a peddle ebike stop thinking about a throttle thast a motorcycle. ebike gives you a workout as well.
So it's like this I ride a pole taival, propain tyee cf and a trek powerfly emtb there are many times I prefer either of my non E powered rides over the ebb.
Do you secretly love ebikes? ⚡ Be honest will your next bike be an EMTB?

I realize I'm in the minority but most people don't ride their ebike at full power either. The ebike makes it so much easier to stay in zone 2.
@@TheTrailRabbit I have.. so that is false. Granted mine is an SL.
Kanuga is the only time I've ever ridden one.
great answer Sam! Everyone has their own reasons that bicycles make them smile and it's important not to compromise that if possible

Got an ebike, full sus. Got tired of it after one year. Bought a Surly frame and built myself a hardtail. Never touched the ebike since.
Does it have a dropper post and a suspension fork? 🙄
Actually no sus fork yet. And no dropper either. I never felt the need for a dropper. The full sus ebike did have a dropper and I never used it @@harveycasey1900
Must be a crap ebike
Same have both ride my MTB more as EMTB more for recovery rides / lazy days but don’t get same satisfaction from it personally
what was it you got tired of it?
I don't know anyone that hates e-bikes...but...getting labeled a hater is easy to do, just mention you don't want or need an e-bike and you're immediately a hater. Sorry, I like climbing and I'm only 57 so I'm years away from needing pedal assist.
" just mention you don't want or need an e-bike and you're immediately a hat" - if only .... lot more salt needed 2b a hater
Yup thats how bad it is
@@max-eb9vi What's the evidence of them destroying the trails?
Fair enough, a lot of people do jump to conclusions when someone says emtbs are not for them. Same can be said for the actual haters though. A lot just generalize all emtb-ers to be the same. Some just want to get more rides in the limited amount of time available to them, some are lazy, some have mobility issues, some are nice and some are a holes.
Just a bunch of Ass-umptions going around lol
Modern steel hardtail like a chromag,or a starling full sus.No electric for me at 56,been riding all my life right from when the sport started
that's awesome to hear you have been riding for so long! It's crazy to think how MTB has evolved in many directions since then
Right there with you , 53 still have a hard tail and short travel full sus . 👍🏼
@@redbomberr4594 I really don’t see it that way at all, I must have missed the bit where he rates how good everyone is, this is a point of view and really no one should be offended by it, I’m not sure if you really are or your worried about hypothetically offending people
@ so your to fit to get a workout on a e-bike? Too good?? 😂😂

I feed my craze for power with dirtbikes. But when the tech settles a bit and prices come down I'll get another one for sure no questions about it.
Got a GasGas Trail 3.0 for my 50th. Best purchase ever. Getting older, struggling to ride for a couple hours or ride all day long on ebike? I chose the latter & super happy.
I love my XC analog bike but on the same hand would never discourage someone from having an e-bike. Why can’t we all just get the toys we want!
Hi all I will be 85 in three months and an E bike allows me to ride grade 3&4 trails and I ride twice a week yes the mussel bike sits in the shed.
I just bought and E-Bike, but I still like using my regular bike. Best of both worlds.
Best of both worlds: my next bike will be an ebike with a flat battery. Fun video, great hacks and good rhythm (percussion). Thank you.

I hated Emtbs, then I tried one, then I bought one and I absolutely love it.
Cheers.
I'm a XCM rider but would like an Ebike as well for certain rides. Could be so useful for nailing the DH trails by doing more repeats.
#Caption contest: "Blake, this why I keep telling you to wear your pads on the trails!"
Emtb is definitely helping me with my technical skills.
Love that take on it Hammy.
The thought guy that it could actuallyalky makes you a better rider is often overlooked.

Just like you might have an XC and a DH bike, it's all mountain biking!
that's great to hear it helps you ride more Ian!

Some are saying it doesnt do the work for you and that "Everyone will be riding them eventually"
And yet your 60, and had to wait for riders half your age to catch up.

Peace ✌️
YES! I want an EMTB but have to save up on the shillings. They're really expensive! When do you guys think the prices will come down? If ever?
you can get some great bikes for great prices nowadays, the second hand market could also be a good option

I'm fortunate to have a mtb and emtb. I ride my mtb with mates and go on my emtb for a power hour after work.
Gotta love them eebs. I love mine, it is just great. Rides like a dh bike and I can get back up the hill with relative ease.

Made the coke bottle tyre inflator decades ago, works well, never blew one up even pressurising to 120
