Good effort Mark. It’s been a long time since I did pottery ( school days lol) if I remember rightly you need to have a pot of water to dip your fingers in to ‘smootch’ the coils to gather to get a better adhesion also tool wise a rubber kidney and steel kidney to help smooth out. You could use a nail to mark out fancy detailing on the outside for that added custom look 👍🏻
Thanks Roger, spent a year in a pottery classroom as our home class when I was 12, we were allowed to play with all the stuff in dinner breaks, have not touched clay again until now. Good fun though and can see you would soon pick up the skills with a bit of practice. do need some tools though😁👍
@@mark.a.cornish I can relate to crap lol weather hasn’t been very inspiring, But live for the day we must, seeing your videos has really got me going for some outdoor frollicks or something like that… if I had me hat on I’d tip it your way, take care fellow shaper 👍
@@badgerandthewoodsman Thank you, great to hear I am inspiring someone, but it works both ways, you have inspired me quite a bit and need to put some more content out😆
@@mark.a.cornish This. Being totally blind since birth, I obviously will pay a lot of attention to the tactile and audio inputs, and some folk are totally fine by that. While others say they can never imagine how I do this and that, how I use the computer and how come I walk on my own, and get appalled when I use the word "see" figuratively! Mike
I'd have tried to pick that sucker up too, if I spotted it in a bushcraft shelter. Nice attempt -- better luck with the next one! You'd have to work around it, but would the handle be stronger if it was placed in between the coils as you built them up, rather than wedging it into the punched holes? I've never worked with clay before
Thanks Radar, too tempting I guess, almost like a baited trap.😂 It`s like working with stiff toothpaste, and as long as it`s smooshed together don`t think it would make much difference. The strength comes from firing it once it has dried out, but am very much a novice, and may not even have the technical terms correct, haha🤣 sausaging and smooshing sound right to me though.😁👍
Sorry mate but whatever the music was or was supposed to do, in my opinion absolutely destroyed what you where doing. No pun intended on the final damage intended which was to say the least ," unfortunate" keep up the good work Steve
@@mark.a.cornish You have genuine skills my friend. That coupled with the love you have for what you do makes for a very interesting and enjoyable channel. The music to me was an unnecessary distraction. Keep up the good work. What you do is greatly appreciated by me and I assume by many others judging by the ever increasing number of subscribers. Best wishes Steve
@@SteveMissin-kf4gz Thank you Steve. The permission wood that I use in some of my videos is near a busy road, people have complained about the drone in the background and have invested in several different mics to improve it. always there unfortunately so some music in the background masks it, would much rather hear wind in the trees and birds chirping and do exactly that whenever possible.👍
Awesome, new friend here.
Great and thanks for the sub 👍
I have actually tried this also, it worked once, but the next time not so much :)
Great to meet you, from the USA@@mark.a.cornish
@@DaveCollierCamping I had wood gremlins, but will have another go when it warms up a bit. 😀
Outstanding

Amazing how many people 'look' with their 'hands'
Texture and shape is fairly tactile, and I seem to see more with my hands that I feel with my eyes😅👍

@@GusliMike Totally get that, have been working with my hands most of my life, rely on the feel of things just as much as how it looks.👍
